Amazing Bricks Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 If anything, we'll get Pluto with Mickey in series 2. Like Santa's little helper, Pluto can be a new mold. Quote
Robert8 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I was thinking.... Barbie is Toy Story character.... So we could get a LEGO Barbie minifigure? Quote
Dorayaki Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 (edited) I was thinking.... Barbie is Toy Story character.... So we could get a LEGO Barbie minifigure? No, cause Mattel brands are done by Megabloks. That's probably why she wasn't in the regualr theme then.I honestly think Toy Story would have looked good in minidolls since some of the main characters were technically "dolls". Minidoll Barbie would look much better than the MB Barbie figures. I really don't want them to waste two of the spots in the series on minifigs that we have gotten in several sets already. This. And given that these licenses have potential sequels for more LEGO sets, that request isn't really necessary. Edited October 1, 2015 by Dorayaki Quote
gedren_y Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I seriously doubt Pluto will be an accessory. He is actually physically larger than Mickey. While Pluto isn't as large as Scooby (hound vs dane), he would still be in the scale range alongside Mickey. That's why I gave Pluto his own slot. Quote

Lego has never gave us a one mold character in one pack. They'll never do that, they would never include a character like that in a single pack. Quote

And they did a two mold figure in the Simpsons series with Maggie. Quote
skelliesgang Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Yeah, I thought Oswald wouldnt be a plausible choice but put him there as the fan service figure. Apologies for starting list mania in this non-speculation thread. Quote

LEGODalekbuster523 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Guys, they'd do super iconic characters in the first series. They'll probably test it out to see if it's a success. Because of this, I doubt more obscure characters like Oswald. Also, I doubt animals will get their own figure spots, so I bet Pluto would come with a Mickey (and I'd think Mickey would be his regular version, not Sorceress's Apprentice, but that's a little plausible I guess). And then, I doubt they'd release multiple characters from a single film or smaller franchise. Buzz and Woody are from a hugely iconic and successful on-going movie franchise from Disney/Pixar, so that's okay. The classic Mickey characters are also super recognizable (I can see them doing Mickey (and Pluto), Minnie, Goofy, and Donald all in the first series). With all this considered, this rules out double animals like Pongo and Perdy, Lady and Tramp, and Thumper and Bambi. But most of the Disney characters are animals... Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Many are, not most. The animated films focus on humans. I seriously doubt we'll see any of the classic cartoon characters yet, since Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy are the only really iconic ones today, and kids wouldn't care about Pete, Oswald, or the rest. I imagine we'll get a couple of Disney Villains, but Princesses are less likely. I think Pixar will have less representation, and the live-action films might be neglected altogether, although I'd love a Mary Poppins minifigure. Quote
Ardelon Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I agree with J2G on Oswald and Pluto. However, I strongly disagree on Woody and Buzz. As much as I love Toy Story, I really don't want them to waste two of the spots in the series on minifigs that we have gotten in several sets already. Most people who want Woody and Buzz probably already have them and wont be interested in them, so it wouldn't make sense for them to be included in this series. It makes more sense for them to wait two years and make a full Toy Story 4 line of sets. Same goes for Jack Sparrow. I mean, he was in every single POTC set. Nobody wants him at this point, and POTC5 might get sets as well. Most long-time AFOLs maybe have them, but not kids, or newly converted AFOLs. For this reason, I think Woody and Buzz would make sense, maybe even Jack Sparrow. But not in the first series, anyway. Quote

Kids could still get those characters in these cases.A sad fact is that there are many gone licenses we'll be missing for a long time until the film producers plan to do reboots. But still, there are just too many Disney/Pixar stars and choosing the ones that have never been to LEGO would do good to everyone, wouldn't it? Edited October 1, 2015 by Dorayaki Quote
Lyichir Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 It's worth pointing out that in all the CMF series we've gotten, the minifigures have always had a standard assembly of head, body, and legs (even when those legs are changed to things like a snake tail or the head is replaced by a monster head). As such, I seriously doubt a figure like Pluto (or any other character with a non-humanoid posture, like Simba or WALL-E) would be included in the series. Quote

That's a bit biased, but there's no way Pluto is going to be sold as a separate figure. He'll either be a smaller mold and paired with Mickey, or not be included at all. Quote

But what about Maggie from the Simpsons series? Her main assembly was only two parts. I know Pluto would break the trend that we're used to, but I'd say it's still quite likely that we'd get him. LEGO's classified Scooby as a minifigure, so I'm sure they could do the same for Pluto and give him his own bag. Quote

8BrickMario Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I'm fine with getting Pluto, I just wouldn't want him to take up his own slot in the series, when there are characters I'd infinitely prefer. Quote
Tygurah Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Eh, by sticking to "normal" minifigures, we'll miss out on some awesome characters like the lions, Pongo, Bambi etc. And I think we all know how innovative Lego can get, so I wouldn't give up on them just yet. Quote

There have been plenty of non-traditional minifigures in the past (going all the way back to the classic skeleton), but apart from Maggie, none have ever been included in a blind-bagged Minifigures series. But I suppose her inclusion indicates that non-traditional figs like Pluto have potential for future series, at least as long as they're simpler than the traditional three-part minifig instead of more complex. Roger Radcliffe could come with Pongo, while Anita could have Perdita. Bambi could come with (*gasp*) the Hunter. I see the point, though. I'd like to see Mufasa, Scar, and Rafiki, but only one of those could be done well as a minifigure without looking like something out of Chima. And I'd love to see a real full-grown deer like the Great Prince of the Forest from Bambi done like a horse instead of brick-built, but I don't see it in a CMF series. Maybe this series is a further attempt to gauge the potential of Disney LEGO beyond the minidoll princesses, and additional sets may become available later. Quote
ultron32 Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 If Pixar is going to be included, I'd say Toy Story and Finding Nemo are the most iconic movies.... and unless we get a Nemo suit guy, I don't think any Finding Nemo character will be showing up here. So,definitely I'd see some Toy Story minifigures in this series, as you say. Hope nobody minds if I write a quick analysis of what Pixar movies I think will get minifigs. It may end up a wall of text but hopefully it turns out worth your reading :D Toy Story [franchise] - I don't expect this to be in the series, at least not series 1, for the reasons stated above. We've already seen them. Bug's Life - not sure if it's iconic enough but Flik could be a great figure. Monsters Inc - seems very likely to me! If we get any Pixar figs, Sulley and Mike seem like some of the most likely. Finding Nemo - animal nonhumanoid characters seem very, very unlikely to me. Incredibles - another likely one. Mr Incredible could easily be in the first series, with the rest of the family in later lines. Cars [franchise] - most likely, I wouldn't be surprised if they just have Mickey and the other 15 are Cars characters. Sarcasm. Ratatouille - doubt it for the same reason as Nemo. Wall-E - possible. a Wall-E fig would be awesome and I think doable. Up. Doubt it for the first series. Brave - already made. Inside Out - not for a series or a few at least, it's not iconic yet. Robert8 Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I was kidding about the Nemo Suit Guy... I don't expect it at all Quote
aRowlingStone Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 There's already a Pluto mold from the Fabuland Mickey Mouse sets from the early 2000's. He may be a bit big for an accessory, but I'd think this would be worth a minfig slot. Quote
