I don't think it would be weird to have taller characters using the long legs / arms. It might be weird with Hook, considering the printing aspect, but in general I'd love to see more of it.

I like the idea of making series based on the theme of Disney. As a Marvel fan, I want to see at least 1 figure of the MCU. But I'm also looking forward to the more "classic" Disney characters.

We won't be seeing Marvel characters, that's for sure.

Hook using long legs and stuff, no, it bugs the hell out of me when people suggest minifigures use that, haha. Only good ideas for those are Woody, Jessie, Jack Skellington, and whatever enormously tall figures there are.

Hook having a normal head wouldn't work. Trust me when I say a Simpson's style head is the best thing for hook. I mentioned pages back, that this series is going to get some Simpson's style looking heads.

Agree with you, I think I see your previous posts when you show a comparison of the Simpsons characters with normal faces among characters like Ichy & Scratchy with molded heads, and this is ugly in fact. So I hope some characters like princesses, Peter Pan... human characters will have a normal head, and although Hook is human, he's a villain so the shape of his face needs a molded head. Or maybe we can have a mix between molded head plus separated hair / hat ?

Agreed. Although a LEGO Marvel minifigure series would be good.

I think I read somewhere that the reason they can't do CMF series is because that will drive the sales away from the actual sets or something because a lot of people buy the sets mostly for figs.

Something like that, might be wrong, might be right... :shrug_oh_well:

If the box number is 6137052

then what is 6138967 from Amazon?

Also, Brickset added some entries for 71012, so I guess that confirms it even more.

Exactly

I'm tired of people asking a Star Wars / Marvel / DC series

They release a lot of get a bunch of minifigures in sets/promos/books exclusives each year already! There is need to invade another theme to get 16 more?

Hasbro also had the license for Star Wars action figures and look where that went :P

This is why they are branded as "Construction Figures": it plays up the building toy aspect enough to bypass license violations.

I believe its also why all the Marvel figs that have been solo figs (i.e. polybags) have either come with a minibuild or have been intended as gifts-with-purchase/give-aways; not selling them is also a way around license issues (although that hasn't stopped TRU from selling them a la carte).

But as a CMF series, I think we will never see any Marvel (or DC) characters. The Racers sets are the closest we will get.

Edit:****

I personally think Hook doesn't need a molded head--I thought the Flying Dutchman looked fine with it printed on--but at the same time I can see why they would. I just hope that doesn't make it oversized. :sceptic:

Additonally, I would have loved it if wave one were Heroes/Sidekicks/Love interests with the second wave all villains. (That would also ease the transition from non-molded to molded) but alas...

By the way, according to TheBrickFan:

I’ve been told by CM4Sci that Peter Pan and Hook could be two of the minifigures. I’ll keep update as more information comes in.

I thought only Hook was confirmed and Peter Pan was like just rumored or something. Did I miss something? :classic: (I love Peter Pan so I hope it's true)

Sorry if this was discussed already

Oh I see.

If that's so, then someone posted this on facebook in reaction to the product sheet pic posted earlier

The lady in the shop I get my LEGO told me there will be Disney Minifigs including Mickey Mouse!

It's in the comment section here:

So, apparently Mickey Mouse will be in this series....... shocking -.-

Zero legitimacy. I wouldn't trust it. Still, Mickey probably is gonna be in it.

Where is it confirmed that some of these will have molded heads? I believe it's likely, but since when is it official?

Im not sure it might still be speculation. Edited by pittpenguin123

So, I defintely want a Snow White and a Dopey. They have the elf pieces out which could work, so could we at least expect one dwarf of seven to be in it? It was Disney's first really big animated movie.

Also, if we were to get a Donald or Daisy Duck, could the mold be used for other characters? Such as Scrooge McDuck or the little ones from Duck Tales? Or the now Disney owned Howard the Duck? Next year is 30 years since the 1986 movie!

No, there are enough visual differences between most of those characters that Disney would surely insist on character-specific molds for them, with the likely exceptions of Huey, Dewey and Louie, assuming they get made. Note how similar but not identical Lisa Simpson and Maggie Simpson look to one another, and how those differences were enough for TLG to use a separate, character-specific mold for each one's head.

Marvel's Howard the Duck has varied widely in appearance over the years, but never really looked exactly like Donald (though many years ago, before Disney owned Marvel, they once sued Marvel over Howard and forced them to make him look even less like Donald - that was when and why he started wearing pants, though he hadn't originally).

Next year is 30 years since the 1986 movie!

Fun fact, since it's relevant to this last sentence of yours (albeit not to Disney minifigures): all of Howard's feature film appearances (all both of them ) have come out on the same day. Howard the Duck was released August 1, 1986, and the Howard-cameo-featuring Guardians of the Galaxy was released 28 years to the day later, on August 1, 2014.
