Robert8 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I'm not surprised to see no Pricensses in the line up There is already a LEGO theme about them Quote
Zergos Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 so few princesses :S. Not sure if I'll buy any. Kinda silly that they gave 5 of the slots to inside out. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Remember, if they release all the big characters in series 1, they won't have anyone left for series 2. Lego knows what they're doing. Quote
Robert8 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Anyway I don't expect to see Princesses here for the above mentioned reason Even more, the only Princess included is Mulan, who is not a real Princess anyway. She belongs to that franquise just for the sake of diversity Quote
JEP32 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Disney owns the new characters created for Tarzan and their designs for the Tarzan characters from the books. To make anything featuring the original Tarzan characters though requires a license and approval from both Disney and the Edgar Rice Burroughs estate. So if that list is true LEGO paid an additional licensing fee for those two. Happy with the line up if it is true. Especially Donald Duck! Quote
notpennysboat Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 7. Aladdin - Abu or flying carpet Impossible about flying carpet, too many pieces, I've got the Disney Princess set with Jasmine especially for the flying carpet, it is very nice with no stickers :) Jasmine's hairpiece is really good too. It has to be reuse next wave. So the flying carpet from DP will be perfect for Aladdin but definitely not as accessorie in the series, I hope Abu or something really specific to him, so... just Abu in fact :) Quote
Chimp Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I hope Tarzan is true. Ive been wanting a dreadlocks headpiece for quite some time. If Mulan has armor printing , ill be buying multiple of her. Quote
DarthPotato Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I think the list is alright, and I understand the reasoning behind the lack of certain characters. My only problem with LEGO saving prominent characters like Goofy for Series 2 is that we'll most likely have to wait until 2017 for that. So it's a long way out. I'm also really surprised that the new dress piece most likely won't be used. It's timing with the new Queen seemed to coincide perfectly with this series and for some princess characters. Quote
Dorayaki Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 (If the list is real) the lack of female villains (Evil Queen, Maleficent, Ursulla, Cruella de Vil, Lady Tremaine, etc...) makes me think LEGO could have something on store for them... It lacks villains overall. There are tons of evil icons in Disney franchises and I don't believe that Captain Hook is the only member. The biggest disappointments for me in this list are the lack of female villains and princesses, along with Beast and Sulley. Sorry to repeat: > I'm not liking another Stay Puft Marshmallow Chibi It's timing with the new Queen seemed to coincide perfectly with this series and for some princess characters. I could understand that princess' and royalty stories play a super important role in the whole Disney world. However, not just cause the conflict with currently running regular Princess theme (even Toy Story is absent at this point), but many non-royal Disney heroines might need more spotlights than the royalty members.Jane is one example, and perhaps Alice, Lilo, Wendy, Kida..... etc. Quote

LEGODalekbuster523 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Oh please no. The biggest disappointments for me in this list are the lack of female villains and princesses, along with Beast and Sulley. This. I'm hoping for a LEGO Cruella De Ville minifigure for series 2. Quote

8BrickMario Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 What a relief. Of course, I would still like the emotions, but I think a list of eighteen figures I want rather than only five would be better. What I don't get is why they thought that sounded convincing. Perhaps leaving Tarzan and Jane would have led to less skepticism. Quote
strangely Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Yup, I was suspicious of this list and then finally caved and thought it was real only last night. I should have known better and trusted my first instinct. That list looked fake. I love Tarzan, but I often suspect I'm the one of ten people in the world who do and then if that weren't enough of a tip off there was Mulan. I understand people love Mulan, but for the first wave of a Disney CMF I really didn't think Disney would choose it's admittedly lowest ranking princess on the current Princess roster (The one who's not royalty by any definition). Really I would have liked to have most of those minifigures, but it just didn't look like the line-up Disney would choose. Quote
pittpenguin123 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Every one is saying mulan has to be in there because shes a disney princess. Leia is a princess and is owened by disney, so that makes her a disney princess. Its Confirmed she will be in this series. /s Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I wouldn't be surprised if Disney make a Genie minifigure though, considering it's very topical at the moment due to Robin Williams' unfortunate death. Quote

BrickBruceBanner Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I'm sorry, but - told ya so - what really wonders me about EB is that - while I'm assuming that you are all adults - you "all" don't see how a company that makes children toys works - you're all making assumptions and spread rumors that can't possibly be true in any way. That gets your hopes up than you're disappointed. Start thinking like adults when it's about (Lord-)Business and then have your inner child to get hopes up. Stay put, you guys! To Stay on topic: Disney is supposed to be very family friendly - no Disney character comes ever alone, think about it: Lilo and Stitch, Peter and Tinker Bell, The Lady and the Tramp - or almost any other character. So there is the one way to put two of the same characters in one series or just multiple series with the same "themes" - like LEGO is doing it already with the CMS. But molded or normal heads? I'd be happy with both, but - while I'm putting my money on the molds - I have no idea - and it will probably take some time until we know. Until then let me remind you a lesson that so many Disney movies have taught us over the years:"Have patience, my young padawa---" wait- Quote
8BrickMario Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I think many characters will have molded heads. But several of them won't need them. The problem is whether or not the latter will have them anyway to fit in with those who do, or if the'll just have special headgear instead of a molded head. Quote
