CM4Sci Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Wow, I see how it is. Oh, I was just joking. I hope you post it soon, if that's what you're referring to. Please don't take offense. So, with Alice.. considerably confirmed, here's what we've got - 1. Mickey Mouse 2. Peter Pan 3. Syndrome 4. Mr. Incredible 5. Ursula 6. Princess 1 7. Princess 2 8. Alice 9. Genie 10. 11. 12. 13. Yeah you forgot Minnie. And where is the love for Hook? Anyway, is Alice confirmed? I thought they were just talking about his profile picture. I can be wrong off course Quote
EdWebhead Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 If we're getting Ursula, then one of the princesses has to be Ariel. Only makes sense, right? Quote
strangely Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Good to see Alice included, hopefully they'll include the Queen of Hearts or Mad Hatter to go with her. I'm wondering what version they'll be using. I prefer the 1951 movie version, but with the sequel to the 2010 one coming out in May I'm almost wondering if they'll go with that one to promote the movie. Quote
Actor Builder Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 but with the sequel to the 2010 one coming out in May I'm almost wondering if they'll go with that one to promote the movie. Ew. That would not be good. It does seem possible though. Quote
Huigberts Builds Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Sooooo, where did anyone confirm Alice? As far as I know they were just talking about Tragic Banjos avatar. Did I miss something? Quote

The film version is less visually interesting costume-wise. Besides, 1951 Alice is classic for a reason. Quote

He uses his avatar to hint at who we'll get. I think classic Alice will be used. The film version is less visually interesting costume-wise. Besides, 1951 Alice is classic for a reason. I hope so too. The Burton Alice is just so bland and unmemorable. I'm floored he managed to suck so much life out of that story. It'll be interesting to see how they do Alice. I imagine her dress is probably difficult to portray on a minifigure. Quote

Burton, generally, isn't good at working with pre-existing material. What are his great films? Ed Wood, which is biographical but based on no pre-written material, Edward Scissorhands, Big Fish, Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas (yes, I know he didn't direct). Original ideas. The worst ones? Dark Shadows (a reboot), Alice (a reboot), Planet of the Apes (a reboot). Obviously this isn't an absolute rule. Sweeney Todd is quite good, but that's mostly because he's just putting a play on screen, only really changing it to strengthen its form from a cinematic perspective. Batman is quite interesting, but at the same time uneven, and I think it's only immersive because of Jack Nicholson. But as a whole, Burton is best left to his own devices. I understand why he was chosen for Alice, but I think it would have turned out better if they could have gotten him as a creative consultant but not director. Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 I see why they chose him, since his "gothic whimsy" seemed like it would work quite well for the strange Wonderland, and the idea of it becoming darker to reflect her age is an intriguing one, but that wasn't what Alice was about. It was a silly nonsense story to entertain a little girl boating at Oxford, and it did a great job of it. Dissertation aside, it'll definitely be the classic version, as that's the iconic Alice image that people think of when the story is mentioned. I don't know what she'd come with, though. Most likely a printed brick and a stud to look like a "Drink Me" bottle, and maybe a playing card? I'd love a Cheshire Cat, but I think he'd be too big. Quote

Ultron Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 It'll probably be a little vial or something, if she actually has one. She should have a skirt piece, at the least. Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 (edited) She'd be a nice way to introduce a minifigure mushroom accessory to be used later in the all-but-confirmed forest subtheme of Nexo Knights. Edited February 8, 2016 by 8BrickMario Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 I think the current way they build mushrooms is fine. Cheshire Cat would be cool, then again, I haven't really watched any classic Disney films. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 ... then again, I haven't really watched any classic Disney films. Are you sure you're a human being? Alice is wonderful news to me (if that bit of information can be classified as such) as she's among the most iconic characters of the classic Disney films I know she's technically not royalty, but may she be one of the two semi-confirmed princess characters? At least Kingdom Hearts treated her as a princess of sorts, but that's not saying much, I know Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Alice was never a Disney Princess, though she was once a chess Queen. Quote
