just2good Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 Can a mod or J2G update the front page? Hearing a lot of names being confirmed and rumoured heavily, ye most have no mention on the first post. It's just getting hard to follow is all. As Sci said, the only ones that have been confirmed have been the four that have been up there. I'll update the rumor list to add Alice. Quote

Lol all while knowing the other 12 figures You're so lucky! So I think all these characters encompass all the Disney movies pretty well and it seems like it obviously leaves open room for another Series! Quote
just2good Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 Lol all while knowing the other 12 figures You're so lucky! I know a lot of stuff about future LEGO stuff, but this is one I REALLY don't know. I wish I did, but hey, at least I'm in the ride with y'all! Quote
Robert8 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Oh, right, Tragic Banjo's avatar. Eurobricks needs a notification system that sends an email each time Tragic Banjo changes his/her profile pic Quote
Ardelon Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 The problem with molding heads is that it would force them to give clone wars-ish cartoon eyes to every character, regular head or not. They wouldn't include two styles of eyes and I also don't think they would use the standard black eyes on a molded head. This is a good point. Could we have a SW:CW situation on our hands? The Disney eyes are one of the defining characteristics of the characters after all.. Quote
rodiziorobs Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 This will be the best series ever. Tron. 91 pages, summed up in one post there, folks! Quote
deskp Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 This is a good point. Could we have a SW:CW situation on our hands? Besides, disney use a lot of diferent style eyes in their animated films Quote
Stice Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 This would be super ! Means trips again to chapters to feel bags..lol.. Quote
Willsy Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 (edited) This is a good point. Could we have a SW:CW situation on our hands? The Disney eyes are one of the defining characteristics of the characters after all.. I highly doubt it, The Simpsons is the only recent exception I can think of but even then the actual heads were stylised. There were a lot of complaints about the Clone Wars minifigures as well, so I don't think they will do it again. I'm personally hoping that we will get a minifigure version of Elsa, though I'm not sure how many (if any) princesses will carry over from the actual theme to the CMF series. I'm happy that Mickey is in, even though he's a no brainier. :) Edited February 24, 2016 by Willsy Quote
BrickFit26 Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 It's not super confusing: 1) Mickey who may or may not be short and may or may not have tri-colored legs. 2) Genie who may or may not actually be Jafar in Genie form. 3) Jafar who may or may not be in genie form. 4) Alice who definitely has a Schrodinger's cat. There are no uncertainties about Schrodinger's cat. 5) Mr. Incredible who may end up looking very unincredible. But he will most certainly have a new mold for his 2D mask. 6) Ursula who might or might not be fat. 7) Peter Pan who might actually be Link from Legend of Zelda. 8) Captain Hook, who is most certainly a captain, but who inarguably should have a molded head, or inarguably NOT have a molded head, depending on who you ask. Also, it is obvious that he should come with a large new crocodile mold. Take into account that all of these are based on illegal preliminary images that we have so much reference about. Also, consider that all of the above are certainly going to have clone-wars style eyes. They are also not at all going to have those terrible eyes I just mentioned. Tron! Of course, Pluto can't be in this series, because he's no longer a planet, but a Dwarf Planet. Disney bought LEGO so now they own our souls. How bout Tron! Lilo and Stitch MUST make an appearance, or we will ALL be so sad. There will be too much Pixar. There will not be enough Pixar. Nobody's said Tron yet. Mickey will be a costume. Mickey will be himself, in a Mickey Costume. These will be $6.99 a pop, due to Disney expenses. The CMFs are going down in quality, big time. This will be the best series ever. Tron. See, it's super simple. LMAO! Quote
rob-ot5000 Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 This may be dumb, but I had a thought: did Tragic Banjo really confirm Alice? He definitely (however slyly) confirmed the Cheshire Cat, and everyone just assumed he would come as an accessory for Alice. But what if he is actually one of the "creature" minifigs that we're supposed to be getting? He's surely anthropomorphized enough to be made as his own figure, I would think. I have no idea what accessory he could come with himself, I just wonder if an animal-sized Chesire Cat accessory would do the character justice, a character who is arguably more popular than Alice herself. Dumb or not? Quote
Actor Builder Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Dumb or not? Both and neither simultaneously. Schrodinger's Chesire Cat confirmed. Full circle. Quote

Dumb or not? I don't know that about that. He's much smaller than a human and he's often portrayed laying or floating through the air. I mean he is anthropomorphized to an extent, but I really don't think it's enough that a regular minifigure would make sense for him. He certainly uses his front legs like arms, but the majority of the time he is just laying around like a regular cat. So a standard minifigure body might not look great. They did go the minifigure route for Scratchy in the Simpsons line, but in all fairness even in the actual show his main body isn't really shaped like a cat nor does he ever move like a cat. I think a special mold is all that's really needed for him. I'll say I've been impressed with the animals that were made for the Simpsons line as well as the Princess line. Those turned out pretty well at the usual animal scale, so I think the Cheshire Cat would work in that scale too. Also I'm pretty sure Alice was confirmed. It would be ridiculous if the Cheshire Cat was included and Alice wasn't. Then again this is the same corporation that put the Mad Hatter front and center on the cover of the Burton version despite Alice being the title/main character... Just to be clear, I don't necessarily think this is what they will do, nor do I necessarily think this is what they OUGHT to do. It was just a thought that occurred. I honestly don't know which way I would prefer, and I can imagine each scenario capable of providing us with a fantastic figure. I just wanted to respond to your points with a devil's advocate-style rebuttal. In the animated Disney film, the film I assume this is being based on (though I could be wrong) C.C. could shape, change size, become intangible, etc, so I don't really think scale has to be a factor. He's magic. Your point about the Simpsons' animals mirrors a similar thought I had. Santa's Little Helper and Snowball II both look great, but they are relegated to the secondary role of accessory, and their size reflects not only their scale but their secondary nature, whereas Itchy and Scratchy are far closer to first-string characters, which I would imagine is a big part of why they got their own minifigures instead of being included as accessories for Bart or Milhouse or Krusty. Their nature as animated characters in-world means that scale doesn't have to factor in. I don't imagine them to be Simpsons-world characters dressed as Itchy and Scratchy, or otherwise try to explain their scale, they are just minifig sized representations of the characters. And I'm okay with that, personally. (I'm picturing an Ewok/Wookie-style headpiece/furry body, with "triple"-molded striped short legs. THINK ABOUT IT. A large enough piece to do justice to that huge grin.) The only other line of reasoning I have is the Cheshire Cat's popularity versus that of Alice. I may be judging incorrectly, but the ancillary characters have always seemed to be more popular than Alice herself, especially the Cheshire Cat. The only other character I could see being more popular than him is the Mad Hatter, but only more recently, and largely as a result of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's depiction. And considering, for example, that soon TLG will have produced Jasmine (Disney Princess line), the Genie, and Jafar, but not Aladdin, it wouldn't really surprise me to get the cat but not the girl. I think I want an Alice figure with a Cheshire Cat accessory AND a Cheshire Cat figure with an Alice accessory. Problem solved. Edited February 25, 2016 by rob-ot5000 Quote
x105Black Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Well, Alice can change size as well, so that could actually work. Quote
9v system Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 What about Elsa and Anna are they confirmed? Quote
BrickOn Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 I would have thought that the White Rabbit would be more likely than the Cheshire Cat as an actual minifigure. It was a bigger character in terms of the plot, without him alice would not have gone down the rabbit hole in the first place, he appears in many more scenes, is pretty iconic an works much better as a minifigure. Plus he has an instantly recognisable outfit with waistcoat and could be done with a pocket watch... I just think he makes for a more interesting figure, but probably not for this series. What about Elsa and Anna are they confirmed? We just know two unconfirmed princesses, no-one was specified. Quote
x105Black Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 The white rabbit would be cool to see. Quote
Ashnflash Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 What about Elsa and Anna are they confirmed? I'm not sure about everyone else but I doubt that we will get minifigures of minidolls that already exist in other sets... What would be the point of including them.. Quote
