New Spongebob Sets in 2008

well for anyone who hasnt seen the new spongebob sets it shows a preveiw of sandys rocket on the back of this months magazine. just to let u know, sandys rocket is coming out in january 08 not what i thought of may.

I wonder how they will make sandy. is it a head with a fishbowl, or a fishbowl with a printed head?

I can't stand Spongebob Squarepants, but I think my boys would love that rocket. My five year old is in an astronaut/space phase right now, and this playset seems like it would be about on his level. I like the cartoony design of it, and it comes with the main characters...I may have to cave and finally buy a SB LEGO set. Man, they do know how to get us suckers in.

thanks christian for the pics. what i need is a hi-res pic of sandy. it does seem like the fishbowl helmet is a new part. woohoo...just what i need. *y*

at closer look, it seems as if there's no way to take sandy's head out of the fishbowl helmet. probably made of one single part. drat...hope to see either the actual set or maybe a higher res picture of that set soon.

Really, these sets look good. I'm not a Spongebob fan at all, but I have a five year old who would play with that Rocket set for hours on end. I can see him getting that for his birthday in April. Uh...if they're out by then.

I just realised that these sets are a true Sticker Bonanza >:-( Worse than usual !!

They are colourfull and really sweet looking: can't wait for these. I want better pics f that fish head driver and Sandy !! I am so going to get these thats for sure :-P

yeah...seems like it. i don't know why they don't just recycle the golf balls from the y-wing set.

i like to see more detailed pic of sandy too. i just don't see how her head can fit into that helmet. probably can't extract the head from the helmet but will need to wait for better pics. :-P

Wow! I just love that bus driver head! Its creative way how they used that hat. I love his expression. I do hope they give him a new torso though rather than that City one... If only Spongebob came with a glove balloon to whack him with! :-D This is my new priority in '08 be hind the SW bps. *y* *y* *y*

I love them both quite honestly, not for the set themselves, but..

The bus: I LOVE odd colored elements - Orange! I need this set!

Rocket: Rounded elements. I love them aswell. Great for sculpting a beautiful building or a sleek spaceship, also quitea handful of useful parts.

Quite nice sets if you ask me.

i think these are prototypes so we'll probly get the greenush hands. i think sandy will be one peice and the head will be stuck in the sphere, well thats what it looks like in the pic.

I have figured out sandy. it's a new mold. the helmet is made of 2 semi-spherical transparent pieces joined at the side. it can be seen in one of the photos in the link but unfortunately the folder is not public at the moment. i'll link it once it is public so you can see what i mean.

edit: found it.

that's a great piece. going to buy lots of them to make real astronauts. :-P i think it's also pretty useful for deep sea diving mocs too. and it's just such a great piece for historical fantasy like atlantis, etc. so many uses.... drool...
