dum Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Let's put this up to a vote by the party. I still think we should just capture them. Aye, capture them. "I say let'em go." "We should hand them to the Guild and let them sort this out." "I say we let them go." That's three against two. Ezeran's opinion is pretty clear, but do you wanna make an official vote?
Rider Raider Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 "If we aren't going to let them go, could we atleast hand them over to someone with a fair opinion, like the Town Watch?"
Waterbrick Down Posted May 1, 2016 Author Posted May 1, 2016 That's three against two. Ezeran's opinion is pretty clear, but do you wanna make an official vote? "Don't groups of heroes like you generally have Party Leaders?"
Rider Raider Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 "Don't groups of heroes like you generally have Party Leaders?" "We do. He's the kid knight, and he says to let you go."
dum Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 "If we aren't going to let them go, could we atleast hand them over to someone with a fair opinion, like the Town Watch?" That sounds reasonable. "Don't groups of heroes like you generally have Party Leaders?" If Petaldan wants to make a forced executive decision, then he can, and I won't stand in his way. But right now, he's complying to a democratic vote.
MysticModulus Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Ezeran has been silent, listening to the discussion. He does not look pleased but finally he speaks. "If we let them go they at least have to compensate us all for our losses. That being: loss of reputation with our clients, with our fellow heroes at the hall and in my case: lost reputation with the guild itself. One bright polish might actually do something for me personally as I happen to have a great need for it but I doubt they habe riches like that for all of us?"
Rider Raider Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 "Ezeran, no one has to know. You can still get reputation with the Guild instead because we fixed the problem. We could just tell them that it was corrosion or something like that. No one has to know besides us. Your reputation is not at stake."

I'm willing to let them go, but as I said, it's going to cost them." Ezeran turns to the intruders "I want one piece of that bright polish for myself and fair compensation for my fellow heroes as well. It's your decision now."

Ezeran turns to the intruders "I want one piece of that bright polish for myself and fair compensation for my fellow heroes as well. It's your decision now." "I can give you the Bright Polish, but aside from about 100 Gold on me, the Reputation of the Ziegfried's is all I can offer. If I had more we would have hired heroes ourselves in the first place." At this point a familiar friendly big booming voice sounds out through the bowels of the equipment. "HEROETH, IT'TH BEEN NEARLY THIX HOURTH VE'RE GETTING YOU OUT OF THERE ATH THOON ATH VE FIGURE OUT VHERE YOU ARE, HOLD TIGHT!" "Master, we don't have a lot of time." "You're right Volatio." The mage turned to the heroes, "Well, what's it going to be? Hate to rush you, but it sounds like we're going to have company soon." QM Note: You'll need to decide whether to let them go or not. How you arrive at that decision is up to you, but there will not be any PvP. If you decide not to let them go, there will be a battle. Edited May 2, 2016 by Waterbrick Down
Alfadas Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Alright. Enough chitchat. I certainly don't intend to lose my reputation with the Guild, and 100 gold is not an awful lot when divided by 6 heroes. So, who is with me? Let's fight!
MysticModulus Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 "Not good enough. I will not let you leave!" Ezeran prepares for battle and drinks a potion

BountyBeast Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 "Less talk, more fight. You'd better come with us or else." Hunkan also prepares for battle.
MysticModulus Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 "So morality is only good enough for you if it pays, right?" "I seldom take moral advice from trespassers, but yes: your freedom has a price and you couldn't pay it."

Don't you like, worship the guild or something? "HEROETH, IT'TH BEEN NEARLY THIX HOURTH VE'RE GETTING YOU OUT OF THERE ATH THOON ATH VE FIGURE OUT VHERE YOU ARE, HOLD TIGHT!" "Master, we don't have a lot of time." "You're right Volatio." The mage turned to the heroes, "Well, what's it going to be? Hate to rush you, but it sounds like we're going to have company soon." Well, thanks to Ezeran, it's a tie now. So I guess Petaldan makes the decision. Unless... rock paper scissors? "Not good enough. I will not let you leave!" Ezeran prepares for battle and drinks a potion Oh hey, you're sane again. Four against two. We battling? "So morality is only good enough for you if it pays, right?" Yes. Correct. We're mercenaries. I shove them through the portal. "Bye!" WHAT?OOC: Ballsy move! Though if I remember correctly, didn't Ezeran block the portal with some magic? Not sure if that actually succeeded, QM should decide I guess. If he can, Kid jumps into the portal after them. If not, he just shoots an arrow or two at them.

OoC: I know, real bad move, but it's the most IC thing he could do. Sorry. If Ezeran's spell succeeded, Timothy tries to destroy the blockage. If not, he lets gravity do it's work.
Waterbrick Down Posted May 2, 2016 Author Posted May 2, 2016 (edited) QM Note: Since some of the Party does not wish to battle with Marco, simply state your intention to sit out during the first round and you will be removed from the battle. Note that you can only do this during the first round and you cannot reenter at a later time. Timothy attempts to hasten the mage's escape, but Ezeran's spell from earlier creates a temporary barrier (-1 Ether). "Ezeran, I can't believe it. I...I thought you were a hero. How can you attack these men who have done nothing to you. Is it just that you support the Guild of Invision and don't care what happens to anyone else. When the Triffid attacked the mages, you didn't complain when the Guild didn't give us any money for returning the Triffid, even though we were contracted to remove it by the mages. This is the exact same situation. We are not contracted to kill these men or bring them to the Guild, so we have to let them go and be thankful for any present that they give us. Money cannot and should not decide whether they live or die. And who's to say what will happen if we fight them. We have to let them go, or will you fight on despite knowing that yo are in the wrong by attacking them?" Edited May 2, 2016 by Palathadric

Some have it told to them straight away, while others learn it over time. It is this; nobody is completely black or white. Even the noblest have their moments. Some catch you off guard, like Ezeran here. Not everyone can be trusted, but you can never know who those people are. If what you say is true, Ezeran certainly has changed. But people change.
