That's a really cool design, and a huge improvement from the last one. I am not a fan of the color though if it's plain genneric blue.

It's dark azure - not a very common color

The fender pieces aren't new, they first appeared in dark green in a Star Wars Slave-1 set in 2010.

They are new in that color though :)

Not interested in this set even now that I have seen the pictures. Just doesn't do it for me...

Yummy, this looks fantastic. Quite an upgrade over the previous outing! $119.99 USD?

I bought it together with the F40 which was nearly the same price. So i would say 99.99 USD probably. I paid a little bit higher than that because the sets are a little bit more expensive here. For example, they also had the Big Ben for 290 USD (which is 50 USD over the MSRP)

Any Disneyland Castles?

Unfortunately, i did not see them :look: It is possible, but i did not look for them. They brought in stock many exclusive sets which i have not seen for a while, like the Hellicarrier, the Palace Cinema, the Tower Bridge, the Parisian Restaurant, the Ferris Wheel, the Camper Van etc. But i did not see the Disneyland Castle. Maybe it was in the Disney section. I will look for it the next time i go to the store.

I am not able to send messages, i think it is because i do not have enough posts. However, it is not in the US.

Next time maybe check for the Series 16 Minifigures too - whoever put this out is probably gonna be in a lot of trouble! I just hope you aren't forced to give it back like the person who got the Series 16 minifigures

I mean can they really do anything?

This is just a general question to everyone, can they? He just went and bought a set sold by some people. Who is gonna get in trouble?

Looks awesome. I hope its not more than $100. I don't think I'd display it with the stuff on the roof but doesn't hurt to have some neat accessories.

I might be wrong, but if you are refering to 87559 (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=87559) it doesn't seem to be the same as this one has no studs (see the instructions pic on the previous page).

If it is a new piece, that will make color changes harder to do... Until Lego reuses it on another Set.

The pieces in 8097 Slave I have studs on top (source: Inventory 8097 on Bricklink) while the Beetle's fender pieces do not.

I also had to check to see the difference, but I have never seen the new pieces in 10252 before.

Does anyone know what other sets have the same pieces? Or is the Beetle the only one with them? It would be cool to see them in other colors than dark azure.

I'm pretty sure it's a new piece, can't seem to find it on Bricklink. Looks it's 5x5 studs and one brick tall, a smaller brother of sorts to 87559.

I hope it'll get made in other colours, Beetle colourswaps would be awesome.

Does anyone know what other sets this might be in scale with? When I have my cars on display I like them to be on display with sets at the same scale.

By my estimation, it might scale reasonably well with the Ferrari F40?

Dang it's a beauty.

The store.

What if an old lady, unknown to her, picked up this leaked set, and ended up getting sued. Imagine the negative publicity.

I've seen several pallets of Lego being put out late on a Walmart shelf, and they were all labeled with bold, red street date stickers (it was well past that date, too, funnily enough  ).

I'm sure this set will be no different.

A breach of confidential information (such as an exclusive set) would not only encourage Lego to cut ties completely with the store, but also sue them.

I would say that if someone, regardless of whether they obtained the set by legal means or not, shares images of the confidential set online, then they are subject to being sued as well, as they are submitting confidential information onto the internet, not meant for the outside world.

I find this very unlikely. How can there be a law against sharing pictures of things that you own?

It'll be whoever broke the embargo and sold who get in trouble.

I used to work in a book store and we actually had security guards making sure no one opened the boxes of the final Harry Potter book ahead of schedule. It was insane.
