Juke Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) I went through a box of Legos that my mother gave me from when I was young. I thought it just had some adventurers and bionicle. But then I found this gem. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Juke49/StarWars/image.jpeg Edited April 3, 2016 by Juke Quote

Juke Posted April 3, 2016 Author Posted April 3, 2016 It sounds weird to say "I found a box of LEGO". But alright Quote
LiLmeFromDaFuture Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Sounds better as "I found a box full of LEGO!" Then you could just add on to that: … "Full of LEGO pieces!" Or … "Full of LEGO sets!" Or … "Full of LEGO minifigures!" Quote

KamalMYafi Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) "I found a bag full of LEGO™ bricks while I was going to the theatre to watch Batman v Superman™ drinking a CocaCola™" is it should be LEGO® ? see from LEGO® logo Edited April 3, 2016 by KamalMYafi Quote
strider117 Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 After years of searching, I think I've finally found the Kings and Queens of pedantry. Quote
Kman860 Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) Thats great but what are legos . Lego should be capital, and you should have put a question mark. It sounds weird to say "I found a box of LEGO". But alright You forgot your second period. Sounds better as "I found a box full of LEGO!" Then you could just add on to that: … "Full of LEGO pieces!" Or … "Full of LEGO sets!" Or … "Full of LEGO minifigures!" Fixed it. "I found a bag full of LEGO™ bricks while I was going to the theatre to watch Batman v Superman™ drinking a CocaCola™" Technically, it should be theater, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeTM. is it should be LEGO® ? see from LEGO® logo You forgot to capitalize the I and you also forgot your second period. I AM THE KING OF PEDANTRY! (If a mod sees this can I get that as a tag?) Edited April 3, 2016 by Kman860 Quote
Juke Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 (edited) Also found these. ^Sadly no Palpatine, and Vader's are is cracked. ^The droid won this one as there was no Qui-Gon, just his light saber. Edited April 4, 2016 by Juke Quote
eldiano Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Amazing finds!!! I always wonder how much stuff like that is hidden in people's garage's or storage units!!! Quote
Junior Shark Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I have the Skiff, AT-ST, Qui-Gon Jinn door and Droid Escape Pod. They were among my first Lego sets ever. Ahhh, memories. Congrats on those killer finds! Quote

TheBear Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 You forgot your second period. What is a period? They are called full stops. Quote
tafkatb Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 In the novel Frankenstein, the creature that Dr. Frankenstein brings to life is not given a name (he does refer to himself as the doctor's "Adam," but this is generally considered to be a metaphor rather than a proper name). When people refer to him as "Frankenstein," there is always someone at the ready with, "Um, I think you mean Frankenstein's monster." But here's the thing: at no point in the novel is he actually referred to as a monster. So those "Frankenstein's monster" people are also wrong. In a sense, they are more wrong, by virtue of the fact that they're so convinced they're right and have the authority to correct others. Not that any of that has anything to do with this discussion. Junior Shark Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I had these plus the original Slave I. Hey, I have that one too! It and the OG X-Wing set are still built and currently on display. They're the only vintage Star Wars sets I display. Quote

I saw it argued recently that since the creature is essentially Dr. Frankenstein's 'son' from a certain point of view, and has the name "Adam", he could conceivably be thought of as "Adam Frankenstein" making it a-ok to refer to him as just "Frankenstein" Great finds! I still have that old skiff, as well as probably everything from the original A-wing, B-wing, X-wing, and Snowspeeder sets (even the boxes for at least 3 of those, as they had the cardboard trays which make 'em pretty useful for storing loose bricks). I had a few other old sets, too, but their pieces are likely far more scattered among my Lego... Quote
MKJoshA Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 It's Legos. Just get over it. What Lego tells us to call things doesn't matter. And cool finds! Quote
