Fight fire with fire.

Built this guy as part of my ongoing experiments with the obnoxiously overused translucent colored parts and G2 Bionicle armor addons. The build started with the skull squad addon mask and mohawk and just kinda naturally continued into a burly metal man. I was originally going to make him more athletic looking and less chunky but in the end I leaned into the "walking suit of heavy armor" look completely. The name was inspired by the whole mohawk thing kinda looking like ancient Greek helmets and the whole fire theme is kinda obvious. The axe was sort of an afterthought but the texture on it matched the armor parts so it stuck.

And my goodness. That face is one of the most creative things I've seen. Very cool.

By the way, what did you use for the mohawk? I don't recognize the piece...

I can't stop looking at this MOC since you've posted it on Flickr. I'm amazed by its apparent simplicity. At first you just see a bunch of CCBS shells, but you know there's more than meets the eye. And when you look closely, you notice that there are no unnecessary parts. If something's there, it's because it needs to be there. I can't quote the exact post, but I think I remember having seen someone here, on Eurobricks (don't think it was in the Constraction subforum) talk about simplexity. I think this word describes the MOC perfectly. Building a MOC with such distinct shapes and features is a thing, but doing this while keeping the build as simple and clean as possible is one other, and you brilliantly managed to do it. I truly think this MOC should be an example for every builder out there. Some of your other MOCs may show more personality, and use more unusual techniques, but they don't "feel" like this one.

The only bit I don't really like is the axe, but I can't really tell what. Maybe the flame is too much ?

Also, your parts are so shiny, do you wax them ?

By the way, what did you use for the mohawk? I don't recognize the piece...

Yeah, the head was where the build started, as per usual for me. Really wanted to use that armor addon as a mask.

Also, your parts are so shiny, do you wax them ?

Just the lighting really, and I try not to get any dust on the parts storage :v

And thanks a lot for the "simplexity" and functionality of parts comment. I wholeheartedly agree with the concept; detail for the sake of detail was always a thing I kinda disliked.
