Aussie Ben Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Not bad...but it misses the longest running train type that LEGO produced... SAVE THE PUSH TRAINS :-) This is a great example of the concept being one of the most important parts of a build; and what a concept! :-D I thought it was funny enough without the old guy! Great work. *wub* Could I have a copy of your slogans? Please? :'-) Yes, a new Power Functions remote control line is being developed. Not much details at this stage, but already it seems that the battery box, the reciever and the remote will be new. :-/ They were sold at the same time, but 4.5 volts was first. I am looking right now at a 1986 catalog that has 7720 (4.5v) and 7740 (12v) in it. Close, but not quite...4.5V started around 1966 (set 112 for example) while 12V was 1969 (set 720) With the grey track, both were released at the same time as it was mainly a track colour change more than a new theme...Although the sets were also designed for minifigs as well. Minifig Lecturer Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Very clever and yes, funny. This picture should be made into a computer desktop wall paper :) Quote

Freddie Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Whats the standard for trains today?I've never bought any myself. Btw great moc. *y* *y* Uh, that's actually a good question. I think the best answer would right now be, none. Neither the RC-trains or 9V-trains are in production anymore, and as such there are no trains on offer today. The accesories for RC-trains are still sold regularily, though. And left-over from 9V are still available on S@H. The upcoming standard would be Power Functions, so the trains are brought in-line with the rest of the system. Quote
rupi Posted December 19, 2007 Author Posted December 19, 2007 Thank's for the info about the 4,5/ 12v sistems, I didn't knew that. *sweet* I know there are more sistems/types of trains of course, but I didn't put anymore minifigs it would be too much and lose the effect. About the future sistems for Lego trains, I think at least two things will stay for sure, plastic tracks (low production costs) and bateries (kids safety)... Quote
zouave Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 This moc is just as good as a political cartoon. Instead of having ordinary figures how about putting out some engineers and perhaps maybe a few townspeople figs who have been in train sets. I believe that would highten the moc's point. Quote
