Matn Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Great, look at the goblins on the wheels, running for their lives! One great set i'm going to buy. *wub* *y* Quote
natelite Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 i found a bigger picture of the doom wheel! that definitely looks the part. :-P this is great! didn't know trolls are so inventive! :-P i like to see a dwarven steam tank next! hehe :-D X-D bring on "warcraft" lego castle. Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Lego has FINIALLY returned to its roots in system sets, IMHO.This. Is. SYSTEM! No, THIS IS SPARTA!!! Quote
iamded Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 No, THIS IS SPARTA!!! No, THIS IS CASTLE!!! I definitely am getting into this '08 set. It's quite unique, and something I didn't expect from TLC! And it has lots of MF's. ~Peace Quote
Tanotrooper Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 No, THIS IS CASTLE!!!I definitely am getting into this '08 set. It's quite unique, and something I didn't expect from TLC! And it has lots of MF's. ~Peace no, THIS IS ANNOYING! :-P I like the idea behind it, that the goblins/trolls/orcs whatever run to keep it moving But I'm nog going to buy it I think TT Quote
Johnny 5 Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Very cool looking cant wait till next year New and awsome castle on Quote
phoinix Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 so i guess im the only one hating this?? :-X :-X it looks SO bad to me! castle 07 was great! *wub* a return to the early 90s this year is just terrible for castle! *n* they have this cool idea..goblins trolls etc and they make terrible sets! its all back to machines and weapons and monsters... and i want buildings! castles! where do these goblins stay? 8-| dont they have a place to call home? and lego could make a new castle for the good guys this year.. a bit smaller than last year but with the same consept..but no! we had to have a million troll fighting machines! >:-( Quote
Batbrick Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 where do these goblins stay? 8-| dont they have a place to call home? ________ I think thats kinda the point behind the trolls, they are a marauding band of monsters that destroy anything in their path, so a base is not necessary ;-) Clearly Batbrick's mind has turned to mush! *wacko* Quote
iamded Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Hold on, is this that special secret set we've been so anxious about? Because if it is, it's a bit of a disappointment. I was expecting a Ork fort or a giant siege tower or something like that. Not a rolling siege wheel. *wacko* so i guess im the only one hating this?? :-X :-X it looks SO bad to me! Why? Because it's something different? I at first was surprised at the fact TLC chose a giant battle wheel, but I still think it's pretty cool and am considering buying it. Oh well, to each his own I guess. ~Peace Quote
Big T Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Wow that thing looks crazy. I guess if you're going to go Fantasy...you go all out. I really need bigger pictures to know for sure If I'd buy this or not, but it looks like a lot of fun Quote

I was expecting a Ork fort or a giant siege tower or something like that. Not a rolling siege wheel. *wacko* _____________ No, this is the final SIXTH set in the 08 line, the "very special item", is coming at the end of next year, much like this years fantastic Dwarf's Mine! :'-) I'm a bit surprised that some have likened it to KK. KK was jelly bean colours and giant peices, this is totall brickbuilt from the looks of it, and very well designed. I would understand that some may think it too radical of an idea, but I don't see any connection to Knight's Kingdom *wacko* Clearly Batbrick's mind has turned to mush! *wacko* Quote
Aussietrooper Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I also got my cataloge yesterday, and it too does show this one. The colour stars means it will be an exclusive to a store in australia and new zeland. *vader* *yoda* Quote
Piranha Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 (edited) Well I know I was a bit hard at first with this set like I was with the Rogue Shadow and even the Castle Line that has been excellent :-$ The more I look at it, the cooler it gets. The concept of a huge rolling wheel thing of death is awesome! :-D It also looks like a great source for figs, seeing knights and Troll Warriors(finally got to use my new term! ). But what are they standing behind? Is it some sort of barricade? I wonder how much this will be? 20USD?30USD?40USD?50USD? I'm hoping its 20USD, but its a lost cause since a set this great would be much more expensive *wub* P EDIT: Full catalog page, sorry if its a bit large Is this another exclusive? If it is... >:-( *n* Edited December 12, 2007 by Piranha Quote

If it is... >:-( *n* In answer to your question, the Kingdom knight on the right is standing behind a short barricade made of 2 walls with a mounted catapult in the middle. Each wall has 3 spears sticking out the front...So not only a good set for figs, but also for weapons. I'll try and re-scan tomorrow night and upload a better image, unless someone beats me to it. Batbrick Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I'll try and re-scan tomorrow night and upload a better image, unless someone beats me to it. ___________ I'd for one would really appreciate that :-) But don't feel you have to! Aussie Ben, were there any of the impulse sets in the mag? Clearly Batbrick's mind has turned to mush! *wacko* Quote
DB24 Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 were there any of the impulse sets in the mag? Couldn't see any in my mag! Batbrick, aren't you Australian? Its seems that we got our catalogs early... *y* Quote
natelite Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 i think the wheels are a little too large. they should tone it down a little. right now it's as tall as a castle's wall. on the plus side, it seems like the trolls are getting the ninja wrap in bley. hurray!!!! Quote
Batbrick Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Couldn't see any in my mag!Batbrick, aren't you Australian? Its seems that we got our catalogs early... *y* __________ Yeah, but I'm in Tasmania, though I haven't been to K-Mart yet, maybe they are out 8-| ....... __________ i think the wheels are a little too large. they should tone it down a little. right now it's as tall as a castle's wall. on the plus side, it seems like the trolls are getting the ninja wrap in bley. hurray!!!! __________ maybe it's designed to run over castle walls? Tohst Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 __________Yeah, but I'm in Tasmania, though I haven't been to K-Mart yet, maybe they are out 8-| ....... __________ __________ maybe it's designed to run over castle walls? Wait? What? Thats not what you're talking about? Oh, yes, the battle wheel rules! Reminds me of my favorite 'car' in Twisted Metal 2. I like how the designers seem to be having a lot of fun with the 2008 sets. My only regret is there isn't more catapaults. -Tohst Quote
Siegfried Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 By popular demand I have tried to produce a better scan. Quote
Kliq Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Thanks for the better scan, Sinner! I wonder if LEGO realizes that they have the Trolls running the wrong way on the wheels... Quote
Siegfried Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I wonder if LEGO realizes that they have the Trolls running the wrong way on the wheels... Possibly, but for some reason they don't seem to care; the Viking Longboat made a similar mistake. Quote
Kliq Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Either way its a small mistake in a set that looks very cool, IMO. I wonder why that knight is holding onto a stick and chain attached to the wheel. Surely he doesn't think he could stop it himself. :-D Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Nice job, Sinner! Btw, upon a closer look, it appears the helmets of the goblins are just the wingless dwarf miner helmets(OK, if this has been mentioned previously, I forgot, so don't flame me). Btw, they aren't facing the wrong way! They're just walking backwards! :-P Btw, the leftmost crownie appears to be trying to restrain this wheel! Impossible! :-P :-D Quote
Piranha Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Very good *y* Thanks Sinner, I can see stuff much better and thanks to Aussie ben for answering my question Wow I see lots of spears and a little catapult, sadly that will never stop a huge wheel of doom :-D And the knight trying to stop the wheel with a chain?Poor fellow, he will probably get pulled in and crushed I also see good use of the new torso *sweet* P Quote
