jifel Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 more 7041 photo uh... uh... ah! that is *wub* ly! i like the rocket, at least it isnt flick-fire! jifel Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Thank you for the pictures! So their is a structure at the back! Oh well, I did not really expect Lego to make it so it could balance. The trolls look good, and I might finally be able to get a double sided face with this set! The trolls are running the wrong way but that can be easily solved. Overall a good set! *wub* Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Maybe the trolls are just running backwards? :-$ As for me, it looks like a very interesting set, but I think ill pass, unless im in dire need of those click hinges. Looks like a very repetitive build. Quote
TheFrisian Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I for one am very much looking forward to building this set, it's a definite must-have for me! *wub* Quote
Batbrick Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Thanks for the pictures whung! I love this crazy set, I can't wait to have my castle armies quake in fear as they see this thing coming :-D The missile seems easily removed, which is good, and the minifig count is great. It does seem to be a repetitive build, but it'll be worth it, the Battank was. Batbrick is Back! >:-) Quote
Shakar Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 (edited) I guess the building is a bit repetitive and boring, but hey, this set looks so fun that it'll be worth it. Anyone noticed that the goblin leader uses the old skellie euro armour? I would've preferred the new orc chestplate... Very cool and crazy. I love 2008! Shakar Edited January 12, 2008 by Shakar Quote
iamded Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Anyone noticed that the goblin leader uses the old skellie euro armour? What? Awww maaan! That is disappointing. Ah well, the set itself still looks nice, although the bit that sticks out at the back is a bit disappointing also. And it does appear to take up a lot of space. Maybe I'll pass on this set. :-/ ~Peace Quote
Piranha Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Thanks alot *y* *wub* Now I have to buy this thing :-D I don't really think it needs support, because of the square-ness of the wheel design. 6 figs!! This might be pretty pricey! I can just imagine this crashing threw Kings Castle siege with ease :-D Wheel of Death ON! P Quote
Batbrick Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Maybe I'll pass on this set. :-/ Not an option my friend, look at your sig again! :-P X-D Batbrick is Back! >:-) Quote
iamded Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 (edited) Not an option my friend, look at your sig again! :-P X-D Batbrick is Back! >:-) What about it? X-D Still, you're right. I can't pass up a Castle set. However, it's been sent to the bottom of my Castle '08 priority list. ~Peace Edited January 12, 2008 by iamded Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Thanks again whung :-D *wub* This set is a must buy for me too, the wheel is just brilliant. Also, the box art is great, I love how th scared soldier has been posed X-D About the armour, I'm sure it'll be changed into the new armour when it comes out, why wouldn't they use their new armour piece? One more thing, Is it just me, or is that chain in the first pic longer than the normal ones? Quote
yoda601 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 What's it supposed to be? Some sort of siege weapon? Quote
Batbrick Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 What about it? X-D Still, you're right. I can't pass up a Castle set. However, it's been sent to the bottom of my Castle '08 priority list.~Peace Told you! I win! Nananana! :-P X-D About the armour, I'm sure it'll be changed into the new armour when it comes out, why wouldn't they use their new armour piece? One more thing, Is it just me, or is that chain in the first pic longer than the normal ones? I think you're right, theres no reason to wear the old armour, I think the new armour will be inthe set. Hear that iamded! :-P But I think the chain is normal length, the chains have always been really long next to the minifigs I think. What's it supposed to be? Some sort of siege weapon? Its a big, rolling seige wheel of impending death! *skull* Batbrick is Back! >:-) Quote
SlyOwl Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I think this could be one of the greatest Lego sets ever - not for the minifigures or defence structure, but because of the uniqueness of the design - where else have TLC gone so far off the rails as to build this? It is totally unique - they've never done anything like it before, and because of this, I think it could become a legendary set, not for the parts e.t.c, but the design, SlyOwl Quote

Of the 08 castle sets, this is the only one that I actually find to have an interesting structure. It almost looks like a bunch of orcs ran off with the miller's waterwheel. This is really over-the-top. Right now we've got alot of fantasy minifigs, but I would have to say that this is the first truly fantastical structure. If LEGO is going to stick with this fantasy theme, I hope we see more sets push the boundries like this one does. The Dwarf Mine was just a playset. This thing is other worldly! Piranha Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I'm worried about the distribution of this set, since it says "exclusive" all over the box! I hate these exclusives, they seriously piss me off >:-( . The Dwarfs mine and SSA are two castle examples. I hope this one is mainstream (not likely though |-/ ) since this is the Castle 08 set I wanted the most. The only thing missing is those Orc shields!! Not even one! Other than that a great set! I wonder what store will sell this? TRU?Target?Wal*mart? P Quote
legomilk Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 here the scans 7041= http://assets.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildi...ons/4529002.pdf http://assets.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildi...ons/4532926.pdf Legomilk the best of eurobricks :-$ Quote
iamded Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 (edited) *wub* We love you legomilk! Interesting, there's a hook at the end of that chain. That makes more sense! Now, off to look at the rest of the scan! Thanks legomilk! :-D EDIT: Oh no... it's a flying rolling gun... :-( After going through the scan, this looks like a very repetitive build, and will require some serious modifications to get rid of the rolling gun look. >:-( Still, I will get this set. X-D ~Peace Edited January 14, 2008 by iamded Quote
TheFrisian Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Thanks a lot Legomilk! It's nice to be able to have a better look at how the model is built before buying it ;-) Quote
iamded Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Oh hold on. That scan also confirms the skeleton armour is used. Damnit TLC! Just a few little changes could make this set a whole lot better. ~Peace Quote
Batbrick Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Oh hold on. That scan also confirms the skeleton armour is used. Damnit TLC! Just a few little changes could make this set a whole lot better.~Peace I know this is a bummer, but the other sets have the new armour though, and if you want to look on the bright side, this confirms that the Orcs and Skellies are allied. Batbrick is Back! >:-) Quote
Piranha Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Thats certainly a :-X addition to to the set, that "handle" type thing in the rear I see thats how you move the giant wheel, by pushing that handle Other wise there would be no other way to push or move it, adds more playability to the wheel too The use of skellie amour on the Troll king makes me angry >:-( I thought the king defeated the skellie's and the Trolls were their new enemy Still a great set and a must buy *y* P Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Legomilk = Amazing. Thank you for the instructions! *wub* This set is better than I originally thought, albeit repetitive building. It might be just such a fun set I may not be able to pass it up, though :-$ Quote
Wout Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Thank you for the instructions. I now know I don't want this set X-D . to much technic and shoot pieces. Quote
