Hello!

Here is my latest creation, Rewnsill Outpost:

I'm not particularly pleased with how the pictures turned out, but it's the best I can do at the moment.

Don't worry about those pics, it's good as long as they show the beauty of the MOC, and they certainly do!

It's magnificent! Great use of those burps. I just love these tudor house/castle combination, can't get enough of them.

Cool details, the drunk guy and the made guy is a very funny touch! :-D

I'm glad the pictures are okay for you, Tiber. I suppose they're better than worse, but they're still a little too dim and yellow than I would like.

Ahrg! :-| I thought I was forgetting something... I didn't even include a fireplace! Thanks for pointing that out. I don't think I can add one easily enough for me to try to add one on this, but I'll certainly try to remember one for my future creations.

A secret entrance would be very cool, but almost all the rocks are filled with bricks for structural reasons, so I don't think I can add one in this... I'll try to remember that, too. ;-)

At first glance, I think the scale of it is just a bit on the small side. Take the small tower in the corner for instance, it's so narrow that I find it hard to believe it fits a staircase or even a ladder to reach the battlements. And as Asuka already commented, the house is really lacking a fireplace and chimney.

On the upside however, I really like the design style and overall appearance of this MOC. I for one am always very glad to see a brick built wall (in my opinion standard wall panels are simply to thin to be credible as castle walls) and I like how you interrupted the surface of the wall by offsetting the middle sections by half a stud. I'm sure this technique has been done before, but I can't recall seeing it used in a castle wall. And I am surprised at how good the blending of grey and bley looks in this MOC.

Aside from the architecture, the landscaping and interiour really stand out. I'm usually not a big fan of BURP's, but you used them to great effect. The small tree is adorable, and the green plates on the rocks to simulate grass/moss really give that finishing touch. The interiour is very nice and detailed, and I find the chairs in particular very intriguing (really like to know what parts you used for the sides).

In short, even though it's a bit small, I really like the look and feel of this great MOC. A big thumbs up from me *y*

Especially some from the top and some close ups (also of the internal).

It's a remarkable building. I like the way it is build on rocks.

Maybe you could add a bit more vegetation (or a small tree) on those rocks, but those are just details.

Definitely one of the better castle MOCs !!

You're right... the scale of the creation is a bit small, especially that left tower. I could've made it a bit more accessible by making the walls one brick thick, but wanted to you slopes on the battlements, and in the end chose looks over practicability. Looking back, I think I could've used inverted slopes below the battlements, giving it a bit more room.

There actually is a trapdoor and a ladder in it, but technically the minifig would need to hover in the air in order to open it.

Thanks. I tried very hard not to use those premolded wall pieces, and as a result used up basically all my grey bricks.

I find the chairs in particular very intriguing (really like to know what parts you used for the sides).

The chair is built upside down, with two of these on top of a tile. The top tile is just held in by friction.

Thank you Bonaparte. Is there anything in particular you'd like to see a close up of? I don't think I'll be able to take any more pictures of this, but I might. There's a picture of the top with the interior open, but I didn't think to take one with the interior closed. :-/

You're welcome Sir Dillon, this creation is definately worth taking the time to comment on! I can understand why you like the use of slopes on the battlements, it makes the wall look so much more solid. Interesting technique for the chairs, never would've come up with that idea myself, just figured it had to be a new part or something! :-D

I was just looking at your Forestmen Outpost and I thought that was great... but this is much better. *wub* Like Mr Tibor I love the tudor house-and-castle-together style. The parapet design looks great and it looks beautiful how the style is re-used thoughout. I really like how the greenery is relatively simple but it seems just enough to me. I love the tree and the drunk soldier is a laugh! The great hall is beatiful as well, especially the collums.

As others have said, while you do use a few BURPs, it's cool as you have used them so well!

(It's so hard to take photos of MOCs that large. I had huge trouble taking photos of the MOC with Strife and the base... :-/ )

I actually wanted to build the chairs in this creation, but couldn't figure out how they were built, so I made my own version. (I have since figured out how he made them, and feel a little stupid that I didn't see it before... I like my design too, though)

(It's so hard to take photos of MOCs that large. I had huge trouble taking photos of the MOC with Strife and the base... :-/ )

Thank you for your response, Sinner. I agree with you about taking pictures of large creations. I think the main reason these pictures turned out poorly is because of the tall tower... in order to get light on it, I had to position my lights further away from the creation, making everything a bit dimmer.
