Before the evening is over, you've decided to search a few additional rooms:

1. Mr. M: you find a small bag of Lego bricks tucked away in the closet. The bag contains the following parts: 2335p30, 43p01, 973p3a, 2562, and 2530.

2. Snefroe: you find another small bag of Lego bricks including 30169, 2454px3, x177px1, and 3068bpx21.

3. BloodyJay: you find a leather portfolio with some papers in it. In looking through the papers, one document has the following website address: http://news.lugnet.com/lego/?n=3211. Another document has some pictures of vikings with some writing that says, "13th Warrior".

4. JonFett: a copy of the 1972 movie, the Godfather.

Your room searches discover nothing more.

M has a 2x2 and a 6x4 pirate flag, a pirate torso, a cutlass, and a flintlock pistol.

snefroe has a scorpion, an obelisk piece, a pharaoh headress, and a map.

I don't appear to have anything out of the ordinary, and really, neither do they. Looks like we're searching the wrong people.

brickster is playing us... these parts only refer to us... no clues, i'm afraid...

Those items are normal - the train is going to a Lego convention after all, its normal that everyone has Lego pieces associated with their theme ;)

However it is weird that:

1) myself has nothing

2) JonFett has a copy of the 1972 movie, the Godfather (not very Legoish)

Could it be that the motive is a lot more down to Earth than we expected???? Killing to get rid of competition at the Convention??

Brickster can you explain to use why Blackbeard had the PO Box for California, your gun is missing and you carry cards for "Have Gun Will Travel"(an old radio show in the US with the main character named Paladin who was a hired gun from California) ? Is there something you are not telling us? Did he hire you? Is it possible that a former friend of yours is out for revenge and what better way to do so than to frame you for murder?

I will whip out my laptop and do a little searching on the old show. Maybe something will turn up. I do remember that the show had a strong Spanish influence to it. Might be worth checking into.

You awaken from a loud knock on your door. It's Pete, the Security Officer. He asks that you meet him in the Dining Hall. There's been another murder.

You all convene in the dining hall from a restless night of little sleep.

Pete states, "last night, another of your friends was murdered. His body was found by Maria, one of our housekeepers very early this morning. He was shot in the chest just like the other murders".

You look at each other wondering who is missing at your table. It's Athos. :^^D

Pete is sympathetic in telling you that it was Athos who was murdered last night. - But why and who you wonder? Maybe more clues will help solve this mystery...

Oh great, another murder, and two bullets left in the gun of that murderer ;)

I guess that Athos aka "we deal in Bricks" did not do a good bargain on that one!!!

His gun was missing, so if he was to be framed for the murderers, it would make NO sense at all to kill him!!

Its time to investigate his room once more!!!! - who knows!!

How weird that his body was found next to the maid *wacko* I hope that Maria don't know too much...

Well,

Either Athos was going to be a target of the murderer, or something he said got himself perished by the one (or two) that do not want their secrets out.

Hrm. Time to go over Athos's words concerning the murder.

Also, if any of you come and knock on my door in the middle of the night, I'm probably not going to answer. The door to door salesmen on this train don't seem to take 'no' for an answer very well.

Guys, just wait till all of you are killed and only the murderer is left ;) THEN the mystery is solved!

BTW I'm lucky that I am not oin this train anymore, so maybe I will be one of the few survivors at the end! (Hey, one must be able to keep Eurobricks going ;))

Well we know I'm not the murderer now. :-D

Some observations:

-I suggested we search Bloody Jay's room twice, and yet it did not happen for quite some time.

-Additionally, I also suggested that Jon Fett might be have some connection with the dead maid.

-Thirdly, if you look, you can see my signature picture was wearing clothes from the pirate theme!

Athos: remember, Dead Men Tell No Tales! - thanks for being a good sport.

Your group get's ready to leave the Dining Hall, when Maria comes in to see you. "Did you hear what happen"? she asks with dismay.

She tells, "I wake up to start my shift and walk down hall and hear gun shot. I get scared and run down hall. I look back and see his back side as he leaves room of your amigo and runs away. He was dressed all in a black and I hear him sing a music like El Mariachi. I never see his face though. I run to tell Pete".

Posted

Maria,

When you say he sang like El Mariachi, do you mean he sang in spanish or that he sang in a lively spanish fashion ?

Dressed all in black...gunning down people dressed in pirates...and again with the music...hrm.

Athos: since Phez hasn't been posting as Mr. M, you can play this character if you'd like.

Maria answers your question by saying, "Oh, he sing in fashion all in black like El Mariachi".

As Mr. M

Then I would like to re-iterate Athos' dying declaration, which is rather calm, long and systematic for a dying declaration, but what can you do?

Well we know I'm not the murderer now.

What do you suppose El Marachi means? I do know it is a Taqueria in town here, but I don't think that helps any...

Steve (aka, the mysterious doppleganger Mr. M)

Silence you dead man! I can speak for myself! Actually, he makes a good point... for a corpse that is. Now, lets get down to finding this vile murderer. I suggest we all go to this El Marachi for some dinner. I could use a good taco.

You've decided to take Mr. M's advice and conduct a more thorough investigation of Bloody Jay's room.

The room is another very ordinary train room with personal belongings within the closet.

Within the closet is clothing, shoes, open suitcase, and the leather portfolio that you looked at before. Mr. M. quickly opens it and again looks at the papers within. On one piece of paper, you find a website written on it that has the following address: http://news.lugnet.com/lego/?n=3211.

On the 2nd piece of paper, there are several drawings of vikings with writing that says, "13th Warrior".

Aside from the leather portfolio, there is nothing else of interest in this room.

Maria has left you but she says that you can get a hold of her anytime if you need her.

Yes, Mr. M. is quite the enigmatic character... Played by both Athos and mysterious "newbie" that has the style of both Mr. Phez and Captain Blackbeard?

And where did he find that suit and walking stick? a mystery within a mystery...

Posted

I'd like to ask the security guard for a simple checklist of the rooms we have and have not searched.

(Oh, and I don't think he meant search my room twice - I think he meant he SUGGESTED to search it twice ;))

Posted

Sorry, misunderstood that one (I think I've been doing pretty well up until now)...

You seek out Pete the Security Officer to ask him your question. Since you searched many of the rooms without him being present, he cannot answer your question. In fact, he can't recall which rooms he unlocked for you.

Pete says, "Now it's time for me to retire to my room. Kojak is on tonight".

"Make sure you don't answer the door if you hear anyone knocking tonight", he adds.

The walking stick is to keep my pet monkey in line. 8-| And I changed into the suit because 3 of the 4 murder victims have been clad in pirate garb.

Mr. M (the M stands for Monkey :D)

Posted

Ah, all those spanish clues!!!

The spaniards were dreaded enemies of the pirates - that would explain the 2 first murders.

The maid was killed because of her knowledge.

Athose was not a pirate but was killed - it would make sense that he knew too much also!! (could he have prior dealings with the murderer!!!!).

An eventuality was left out - athos could have killed the two first victims, and then a second murdrer steels his gun and shoot the two others!!!!

Also who is that mysterious Mr M????

It is doubtfull that the M stands for Monkey (could stand for Mariachi, Murderer... who knows???).

It seems that he has lots of different cloths, so he could have an all black outfit!!!!

whose room we haven't checked????

Let see that in the morning shall we!!

I'm confused? Do I have a dopplganger? I was quite sure I was Mr.M.

Anyways, I haven't really had the time to focus my thoughts to the topic on hand, but what I will contribute, is Pirates can be of any nation including the Spanish. Its more likely the privateers of the Dutch, English and French to be the enemy of the Spanish.

And now for my uneducated guess, based on very little logic... Me, Blackbeard and Rosa all knew the combination to the lock which was 151 and that's why we were all killed....

If this thread is still running in 2 weeks time I'll be able to allocate more time to solving this mystery.
