Hey all. You may have noticed EB undergoing some change lately. That's good *sweet* Growing, changing, becoming better. You may also have noticed some threads being moved out of the Your Own Creations forum. That's because we've decided that all MOCs will from now on go into the forum of their respective theme. We feel it will keep the site not only more organized, but much easier to browse as well :-) There are a lot of threads there, and moving them all will take some time, so in the meantime we ask you to kindly only post new MOCs in the theme forums they belong to, and to not post anything in the YOC forum.

Thanks, and happy MOCing,

The Eurobricks Staff

I just wanted to add a little to that, SW4J:

If you can't figure out where a MOC belongs post it in the "Other Themes" forum. If you are a steampunk or post-apoc builder, we're moving those MOCs to Space & Sci-fi those also go in Other Themes- :-$ .

Thanks! :-)

Please have a good look at the new descriptions of all the forums.

That should make it clear where your specific MOC has to go.

In case you are not sure where your MOC belongs, leave a message in this thread or PM a mod or admin.

Edit: Cross-posted with Hinckley. Things should be triple clear by now for everyone :-)

Thanks for that information, it's great to see this site develop. I just have one question though. Is the YOC Forum merely under reconstruction, or going to be totally demolished, or what?

I was just wondering if it was a temporary thing :-)

From what I know once the YOC forum is empty it will be removed.

That's correct, after a lot of discussion it's been decided that the YOC forum wasn't needed ( :'-( )since the various themed forums will be assuming it's responsibilities

May I ask what will become of the Fellow's duties then? I was under the impression they led the YOC forum.

Personally I think this is just a power play to take the little bit of power the Fellows had and put it back into the ruling class. :-/ Just you wait; soon the moderators will re-named as "Mega-Fellows" and their power will be stripped away as well! *sing*

Hey! We had the same thought! *wacko*

Hmmm..... These changes make a lot of sense, and are very logical. I guess I'll just miss the YOC forum, it was great to me because of the variety, it wasn't stripped down to categories. I could look at Dr.S's great Tabletown armies, iamded's awesome post-apoc world, and Sinner and Hinckley's hilarious smackdown's all at once. That to me was the fun of it all :-/

Maybe it wasn't needed, but I guess I just think the YOC forum made it so much more fun with plenty of variety :'-(

Yesterday I transferred the power of the Fellows over to the Customs Workshop :-P

:-$ Oh. Well that make me look a little silly... ;-)

So you never found it confusing at all were to post of find something? I agree that the YOC was at times a good "one stop shop", but since not all saw it that way (me included) it wasn't really one anyway... *wacko* Does what I am saying make sense?

No, it doesn't :-P

I understand what you mean, but I just prefer having a place to put MOCs of all sorts in, rather than seeing:

My Moc Batmobile

My Batvig

The alternate Tumbler model I made

My moded Batboat

everywhere. This is an exaggeration obviously, but I just loved that the YOC forum was unique in that each topic you read and posted in was going to be every bit different and interesting than the last :'-(

I for one will miss the YOC forum. But I guess we'll learn to love this new way.

I'll be missing the YOC forum, but it's nice to see that putting the themed MOCs into their forums will revive those forums a bit, especially the Space Docking Bay.

You make a good point there, and I'm glad to help with my Interactive Apocalypse! X-D

But where do we put sigfig oriented MOCs? I have one about me and iamded, but no idea where to put it! *wacko*

Ah, thanks Sinner *sweet* Yes, I'm starting to come round to this, it will certainly revive some rather unactive forums :-)

BTW: I couldn't find the new magazine that other Australians have, where did you get it? And was the batcopter or Battank in there?

It's a subscription thing. You should see forms at the back of instructions, catalogs, as well as stores. But no, there was no mention of Batman at all. New Mars Mission and Bionicles was all it had. In fact it was pretty lame... :-/ I'd S@H it before it's too late. I have Bane and he's pretty cool! *wub*

I was actually going to make a topic about this but didnt get around to it. I myself wondered if these MOC's are going into their respective theme forums, what's the point of a YOC forum? *wacko* So I guess this is a good idea. I see many of the new topics in these forums are for creations anyway, this will just make it easier for us to find a particular MOC. But I do think that an MOC forum is an essential part of any Afol Message Boards. If anything I would've thought the MOC's posted in space, pirates etc, would be moved to the MOC forum. I wasnt finding that the amount of MOC's was unbearable and I've seen most of them. I dont think it's a big deal though. I'm also worried that topics for new sets and whatnot, which generate a lot of replies might drown out MOC topics. Have you guys considered having an MOC subforum in each of the theme forums or would that take up too much bandwidth? 8-|

WE are indexing all of the MOCs in each theme forum. This will clearly take some time...

________

oh, well thanks for the news anyway :-)

And I'm not gonna S@H it, if TLC expects me to pay THAT much for those two sets then no WAY! *n*

I am still getting them though, found them at a very good price on Bricklink.

I posted a thread asking about this moving a couple days ago, a thread which seems to have dissapeared completely.

Personally I think this is a horrible idea. The YOC forum was my favourite one. It was like a mini brickshelf where you go and get a random assortment of fellow Eurobrickers creative urges. I haven't got time to trawl through 13 different forums, sifting through all the other boring lego talk just to find some cool creations and ideas and inspiration. I don't need to read a review of a set that I pobably already own, and reading all the long winded Lego Theory threads puts me to sleep.

The Yoc forum was like a multicultural lego area where all themes were welcome and you could access a bit of variety. Now there's a segregated community with no randomness at all. I like random.

Not happy Eurobricks.

It is fine that MOCs get into the forums of which they belong, but then it becomes harder to scan these forums for MOCs. Will it be possible to make a tags that identify MOC introduction threads? There are currently some icons on the far left telling whether a topic is a sticky and some other things. It would be nice if that little piece of space could be used for this.

A lot of work for the volunteers on! Sorry :-$
