Spoke with store manager, he specifically said any left over "Space Slug sets" that are not redeemed by 10AM will be locked up and shipped back to corporate. He also mentioned they were very strict about it and only 1 per customer. Obviously your stores may vary (if your store manager chooses not to follow these instructions).

If his name is Francis, you should tell him to lighten up.

Too bad lego store managers do what they are told unlike tru managers. they never ship the displays back always give them to employees.

Shipping them back would mean lost sales. Again, these are acquired if you spend $150, so I'd be surprised if Lego stores would send them back and not offer them to other customers.

I'm not trying to discredit namioik, it just seems counterintuitive.

He is probably telling people that so when they have left overs him and the employees can just keep them for themselves.

Unless they were under strict orders from Disney? And it could potentially jeopardize any contracts and licenses they currently possess?

I can't think of a reason why Disney would want to do this. As Lego is the biggest name in brick-building and Disney and Lego have been BFFs for a number of years, I can't see anything that would jeopardize their relationship.

They are obviously trying really hard to avoid people selling on the secondary market. Although it's inevitable, at least it's far and few in between

That's the problem - so few people will be selling it that the price will be super inflated and draw attention to the secondary market. People are already looking at Lego like an investment that when they see a super limited set like this pop on eBay, they're going to flock to that market. It'll make it that much harder for people to be able to get exclusives like this in the future.

This seems fishy. Could some one else ask what they do

The set is already on ebay for presale for 250 to 300 range.

so that's probly a corrupt Lego store employee(my local try has a employee who hoards all the poly bags and hides them before they can be bought. One he got all angry when another employee found one hidden under some boxes and gave it to me.). Hope Lego finds out about it and stop him.

It was not an employee. It was someone who got an invite to the sale so they will be able to get the set. They posted their official invite flier picture in the listing.

What are the qualifications for an invite?

Most invitations sent were LUG members from their city, respectively

Did not receive the invite, probably because more shopping is done online. Space slug would be nice, but I never did plan on spending $150 at this time. When I saw the much anticipated minifigure was a first order stormtrooper, I about dislocated my jaw from yawning. As for the Hoth set, it would be hard to add any more here that has not already been said. An adult priced playset :sceptic:
