Silverwolf28 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I didn't get an invite so I didn't go. I may try to bricklink once the instructions come out for the space slug. Quote
namioik Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Just spoke to another store manager in the Houston area, all space slugs not redeemed will have to be shipped back Quote
PickleManDan Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 (edited) I got the space slug set today, but sadly, the employee was careless about it and literelly threw it in the bag. When I got home, I noticed that the box was ripped along the top right corner on the back of it. Edited May 1, 2016 by PickleManDan Quote
Lego Otaku Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Not my video: Someone opened the box and did a quick thumb through of the instruction and showed poly bag inside the box. I was trying to assemble based on half of the instruction but I couldn't figure out how the back part were done and left a few gap, and I am not 100% sure I got the neck part of the space slug right as the video was a little too quick on page flipping and skipped some pages. LDD file: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Lego-0taku/ldd/slug_monster.lxf Total 153 pieces as it is, should be 161 so the 8 pieces probably all go to the back part of the wall. Quote

Dorothy Vader Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 (edited) "Escape the Space Slug" set instructions (inc. a full Parts list) are available via the following link: https://dl.dropboxus...nstructions.pdf Courtesy of Yodalego @ Brickset; all credit goes to this admirable LEGO fan! Bricklinking this set comes out to between £20-25 (inc. p+p); much less than either a minimum spend of £100 with LEGO or the extortionate prices of eBay : ) Edited May 1, 2016 by Dorothy Vader Quote
LegoFjotten Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Here is a LDD version of the slug: https://www.dropbox.com/s/52a5cppmw721o7u/Escape_the_space_slug.lxf?dl=0 Quote

Dorothy Vader Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 @lanesteele240: Fortunately myself and many other AFOLs/collectors aren't in the LEGO game for the money, rather, it is for the joy of the brick! Returning to the topic at hand, does anyone have any theories as to what will happen to the remaining "Space Slug" sets; will they be raffled off/handed out @ random during SDCC? Quote
lanesteele240 Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Somepeople find joy in finding something un touched. I have the set. I wont be opening it and i will be bricklinking the set to have my cake and eat it too Quote
Dorothy Vader Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 @lanesteele240: Sounds fantastic! I'm tempted to ask more about the cake of which you speak, but we'd be in danger of going off-topic ; ) Where do you believe the 'left over' sets will eventually end up? Quote

Where they will be slowly digested over thousands of years. No seriously, have faith that the managers will do their jobs and do as instructed. I know i would not compromise my job to make a few quick bucks. Quote

I mentioned it a few post back, read the entire thread!! Okay I'll say it again... Leftover sets will be shipped back to the company. Two managers from two different Lego stores within my city has said it Quote
Dorothy Vader Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 @lanesteele240: Brilliant ! @namioik: I've already read the entire thread! Maybe my question wasn't clear. I was asking for theories as to where the sets will go after they are returned; will they sit gathering dust, be given out at another event, or (as lanesteele240 suggested) be digested by the Sarlacc? JPN366 Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 A good use of the extra bracket and printed tile that comes with the May 4th Stormtrooper figure, you can put it on the heavy gunner Stormtrooper that comes with the FO battle pack... well that make the special figure even less special... NEVERMIND. Quote
generalpdw Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Only got UCS Hoth, Space Slug, polybag, poster and small Hoth set too to expand UCS Hoth. Quote
