Two military vehicles, a horse and 4 figs... that's all we want from a set.

That set is beautiful! *wub* The trucks look so great and that tarp piece would be very useful. I didn't realise that it had a golden chest either. What is the piece that the wheels attach to; is it new? I really love the suspension effect. Unfortuntaly I was/am planning on missing this set as I want the others for the mini-figs and I'm not sure if I want 4 Indys! Ahh well, they don't turn up until March in Australia so I have a while to decide. :-/

Of course, as you've shown here, this amazing set can be made even better with a few Brickarms accessories added in for some historically accurate flavor. ;-)

Hmm, I thought that was another top underneath it. It doesn't look flesh coloured in the photos.

I suppose it could be another top underneath - but given that these guys are in the desert - would you want to be wearing two shirts? :-D

The colour isn't quite the same as the head and hands and it would be easy enough to dismiss on that basis if you wanted to use yellow minifig parts.

I am surprised at the treasure chest though. In the movie they were transporting the Ark. I am confused why Lego did not make a model of the Ark.

Found in Toys R Us here in Basingstoke, UK - it seems a lot of TRUs in the UK have them now.

I think the ark is in another set.

Nah, they are old. The hinge piece I have in my Slave 1, the radiator is a racer/turbos part, and the pinned plate is old. Ahh well. Thanks for the extra photos. *sweet*

Wasn't sure on the plate to be honest, but the others were new to me - nice pieces though.

The hinge plate is chunkier than others I have - it has raised sections and isn't as smooth.

Joining the others in praise for the excellent photo's you've taken, Doctor Sinister. Thank you very much!

YAY:

- no stickers

- nice notzi hats

- cool vehicles

- gold chest & coins

- Krum, Jameson and Wayne faces (I wanted those but couldn't get them in their original sets)

NON YAY:

- Minor gripe: Indy looks exactly the same in all 4 sets. Couldn't TLC "pull a Batman/Spongebob" and have him wear a slightly different outfit in some sets? Like: one without jacket, or one with a black tie like in Crusade (the Motorcycle Chase set would've been perfect for that).

Of course the Non Yay is faaaaar inferior to the Yay! I'm getting all four Indy sets the day I see them in the store. The creative notzi faces give me good hope Jock and Satipo will not both share the same face. I was afraid all the peripheral characters (all notzi's, Jock, Satipo) would have the Bruce Wayne head. Apparently not. Yay!

I remember from the movie that the cold crate / chest should have been formed like the ark. The ark was put inside a wood crate with nazi markings (black eagle and swastika's) on each side. Too bad that Lego did not try to recreate a more accurate ark that would fit inside a wood crate in the back of the truck. Of course, they should have left out the nazi markings. X-D

I'm happy with the 3 different faces of the notzies. I didn't even had Jonah Jameson face so this is a nice try to catch him atlast.

I have at least several in red and tan ;-) The red comes from the 7942 Off road fire resue and the tan from the 6209 Slave1 ;-)

It got me so excited for this set I braved the Saturday shopping crowd/traffic in the hopes of finding one for myself. As luck would have it, the Toys R Us near me in Pennsylvania has almost ALL the new sets, including Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Exo-Force and Sponge-Bob. This was $30.99 (I was never so happy to pay the TRU mark-up X-D )

Are you sure about the plate? Cause I thought so too, but if you look closely at it, it has two pins coming out on each side at the corners, and that's not the case on the ones I know. Besides, it would be plausible that TLC would bring out some new grills (or whatever you may call'em) considering that there are some new, larger ones of those used in the 2008 police station as slidable jail bars. Of course this is all splitting hairs here, but my christmas break just started and I have nothing better to do! X-D

Not much to say on this set, IMO, except that it makes me VERY happy. *sweet*

I'm amazed that it's not <insert that tiresome argument>- TLC is definately appealing to the older fans as well as the kiddies. I love the mud flaps, and the way the canvas is held up- great. The canvas itself is great, because I was expecting cardboard from the preliminary pics.
