JamesJT Posted July 15, 2016 Author Posted July 15, 2016 how many speeds are there? Just 2, right? The rebrickable version is just 2 speed. I haven't made updated LXF with the 4 speed and linkage but the model is still built so an update is still possible. I just prefer to spend my time building new things. I am quite excited about somebody building my Stratos and I will help you anyway I can. Have you played "peek-a-boo" with the pop-up lights yet? There is a "flag project" option, which you can use to tell the Ideas team about the copy cat. I emailed Lego ideas but I didn't get a reply. Quote
Moyalmas Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I am quite excited about somebody building my Stratos and I will help you anyway I can. Have you played "peek-a-boo" with the pop-up lights yet? I've allways said that some MOC are MUCH BETTER than some oficial sets... and yours is one of them. Had to buy a second 42039 and some spare parts but, with some parts i had at home, HAD TO BUILD IT! :) It's one of my dream cars (old memories from the 80's rallys) and, for me personally, much better than spending 300€ + with the new Porsche ;) No problem with the gearbox: i'll manage to build it... it's just a question of havins some spare time :) The pop-up lights make the delight of my 6 years old girl: she loves the car! Congratulations, and keep the awesome job! Quote
Moyalmas Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Sorry to post a pic here, but it was so easy i couldn't believe it (well... this configuration works 100%... don't know if this is the original you planned ) I just had to look to the few spare parts left... and THINK for a couple of minutes If anyone's interested, here's the 2 speed gearbox (Just the engine missing on top of it) (black gearbox lever, on the left, in central position... but have to make a new one: this MOC deserves it ) Quote
JamesJT Posted July 15, 2016 Author Posted July 15, 2016 (edited) Wow, you're really doing this. I am so pleased. I looking forward to seeing the whole thing remade and find out if I made any errors in the file. Edited July 15, 2016 by JamesJT Quote
Moyalmas Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 99,9% done... just have to get the right green colour for the stickers Everything works great! What an AWESOME job you did! RESPECT!! And thanx for giving me the chance for building and having one of my dream cars in LEGO Quote
Zandr Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 This is gorgeous. I saw this MOC a few days ago... and I just built 42039. The whole time I was thinking that I had a pretty good start on the Alitalia version sitting right in front of me. Having said, that, I think I'm going to try to build a blue one. I *really* wish the all-blue Stradale you were building had worked out... that's by far my favorite version of the Stratos. Did you ever document your 4spd transmission? Quote
Didumos69 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I must have missed his excellent model in April. I love this car, it was a game-changing rally car back in the seventies. Thank you @Thorsten for the instructions! Quote
brunojj1 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 @Thorsten50: Great job on the instructions as always ! I´m actually a bit confused because I thought that James Tilson is the original designer of this great car ... No offense - I´m just curious - how was my friend Rishab involved into the work? Quote
WvG_853 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 JamesJT made the original model, Rishab made the LDD file ... Thanks for the instructions, but I think you should mention James indeed as creator of the MOC. This is one my favourite child hood cars. Will definitively build it! Quote
Rishab N Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Sorry for the confusion. To clarify, when James originally wanted to upload the model to Rebrickable, he could not get it to work properly. So I offered to upload it for him but gave all credit to him http://rebrickable.com/mocs/Rishab/james-jts-lancia-stratos. The LDD file was also created by him. All I did was upload it to Rebrickable. I can delete it if James wants to upload his own version Quote
