We've seen this before. But this time I'm back with an airport that won't fit on any reasonable-sized table. Planned for two terminals, perhaps three, and spoiler alert . . . there might be some kind of monorail shuttle system involved. What you're looking at in the initial pics is terminal #2, near completion.

Right now, there's pics of Terminal one and it's runways. I simply cannot get over how many of those round white dots that I've gone through lighting the runway. I've altered the rear end of two of the three blue jets to allow the lines to continue through. I've tried to add a red variant, and I'd like some feedback on the tail wing being red, right now it is red because I'm out of light grey tail wings, but would like to know everyone's thoughts - should I just keep it this way when the light grey tail comes in.

There's 4 set 6396 jets in all. Two short length and width, two engines on each side of the fusselage and then two that are longer and as commented by one of my friends, probably have an absolutely excessive amount of engines - six total with a pair on each wing in addition to the other two.

The longer term plan is to integrate a complete MOC (not MOD) of a very, very significant and unique airport terminal, but as of now the plan is a little more scatterbrained.

You can see in the background (below the monorail shuttle) you'll see the area that should soon be occupied by terminal #1.

Most of my stuff is pretty predictable, so you can probably guess what you're going to see next, and the themes of the planes that will be residing in the #1 Terminal. The #1 Terminal and runway system will be about 60% of the size of Terminal #2.

And yes, while positioning the plane that is about to take off, I can only be reminded of the KLM flight disaster with the tail strike as the passenger jet desperately tried to lift, striking it's tail, and eventually the other plan on the runway.

Those big jets are really beautiful, Breakdown. They really make me want to build more aircraft for my airports. - Two comments though: 1) Yes, your friend is right. 6 engines are too many. The two tail-mounted engines annoy my eyes as they do make the aircraft look strange. 2) I get the idea of making the pinstripes full-length, but the way it has been made make the aircraft look a bit strange with the vertical edge underneath the tail. If we for example talk about the jet with the red tailplane, would it be possible to move the white plate under the red tailbrick one stud forward and the blue plate another one and finally the grey belly brick one more? If possible it could give a more smooth tail design, I think.

Fly on the wings of bricks!

Looks great, a mighty "classic town" appeal.

I also noticed (and envied) your LEGO soccer ball! Likes!

I forget where the ball came from to be honest, the niece and nephew play with it when they come over, I was actually a little annoyed that it ended up in the shot to be honest, now I'm looking at it a little differently.

On all forms when posting pictures, I try and hide some Easter Eggs, and this thread is no exception . . . . the "Easter Egg" wasn't overly creative this time, and it's not the soccer ball.

BTW - the soccer ball won't hold air for it's life.

Hmmmm . . . .

So I gave your idea a try, it actually looked horrible at first, one of things that I've never liked about my blue passenger jet is the position of the wings. When it was built I didn't have any 2 stud double-inverted pcs, and the scenario that you presented made the rear end look a little odd, so while trying your thing, I ended up doing a tear down and moving the wings up two notches. This makes the plane look pretty good I must say, at least right-side-up.

When you get under the plane it is not quite as attractive, but who's look up at lego these days??

The underview. I think that I've interpreted your idea correctly, if not please clarify.

Just a couple of works in progress:

The wonderful (at least in my opinion) black & yellow private jet is simply a case of what I have inventory to complete at the moment. Almost the entire roof at this point is non-hinged, some parts are on order to complete this, the plan is also (obviously) not to keep the white wing on the plane. I'm also working on a black, white & red passenger jet. I believe that I do have the components for this one, but it's less advanced in production at the moment.

I really enjoy the 4-wide era of Lego Airports and I'm slowly collecting/curating old Airport sets

I have International Jetport 6396-1 from my childhood and and I just picked up  City Airport  10159-2 from a Facebook Marketplace purchase of $40  - i really like the aesthetic of the buildings and the main jetliner.

The biggest problem I have with the 4-wide Airport sets is that every single one of them had different Runway baseplates (why Lego?!).  This is incredibly annoying.  What size did you decide to go with for collecting? It appears you use the ones from 6396-1 which seems like a good choice since it more readily provides the T-intersection.
