Found this set in the Bluewater LEGO store , since this is the only new Star Wars set I've not seen reviewed yet I thought I'd throw my two pence worth in.

I can see why nobody is rushing to get this one though.... sort of a Droid Battlepack mark 2 but at twice the cost.

You can read the details at www.brickbitz.co.uk/7670.aspx

The Dwarf Spider Droid is rather neat, and looks quite articulate, but the Hailfire Droid is severely under-scaled, and the original was far better. Still, it utilises a clever idea with the transparent dishes, I know that baffled many people when the first pics came out, wondering how the chains 'floated' in mid-air. :-P Thanks for the review, I see you also got the Troll Assault, the review of which I am reading now! :-D :-D

~Peace

To be honest I want the set for the brown chain links. The last time I got chain links was when I got 744 for Christmas about 20 years ago... :-P A lot of the other parts are great too. Thanks for the pics though. *sweet*

Thanks for that neat review, brickbitz! *y*

I like that set, decent designed droids and very useable and beautiful parts

like these grey battle droid bodies and, of course, these brown chains and

trans clear dishes! :'-)

I think it comes with a lot of good pieces. And of course the hailfire is underscaled... but this is LEGO: everything is out of scale :-D

actually, I really like that Hailfire droid... Ok it's not really on scale (but to be honest, it I hadn't been told, I'd never have guessed, since I've never been able to see how tall it was in the movie) but it's got quite an amount of details to it.

and that spider droid received a good deal of improvements over its previous model.

All in all it's a *y* for me. I'll definitely get that one.

I want it for the links too! It's a nice set for $20$ I think.

Thanks for another great review!

Great Review! I didn't like the overall look of the set, but I did like the "floating" wheels aspect. *sweet*

I really want a bunch of these. They'll be my BP's once my Legos return to their former glory.

Thanks for the pics and review. I understand why you're sour on this set with the price. If you're interested in the links and trans dishes, it's a decent value, IMO. Also, the only other way to get the new droid arms are in the MTT, I believe.

Thank you for the pics.

I think I will buy one. But if they put more normal droids and Super battle droids in it, I think it would sell better.

This is probably the worst Star Wars set I have seen in a while. They made it smaller so they could add figs, which everybody wants. It looks junorized. That, along with the fact that they only included 3 storm troopers with the dropship and included a shadow trooper instead of a pilot disappoint me. Still, the AT-PT, Rebel BP, Anikan Starfighter, and other ship (can't think of name) are cool.

well actually i bought this thing today and i have to say it looks quite nice. sure, it's mf-sized now, but the design is good. I bought it out of curiosity though, just to see how they arranged the wheels. It seems they're using this large 10x10 trans clear dish and around it technic links. They don't fit perfectly around the dish, but it comes pretty close. Still, i'd see this combination of brown links and this dish appear as a window in some sort of steampunk design. And yes, it does function as an actual wheel.

The color combination is pretty nice, the parts collection is really good. only 20% will end up in the crappy parts bag, the rest is pretty useful.. for a space fan... The droids... hm... well... they come with the territory i guess...

Is it worth the 25 euro? hell no, but you guys know how it is with sw sets: a chunk of the money has to go to George, or he gets upset... I wouldn't dismiss the hellfire as the crappiest sw set on the planet. It kinda reminds me of the Genosian set of 2003, ithink... it's not the world's best set but i don't think it's bad. In fact, for a space fan who has to live with MM sets these days, this set isn't bad at all... wish the MM sets had this type of quality ....

i'm not so happy with the stability though.... the thing doesn't really stands straight... the front points a bit high up because the back is heavier than the front...

sorry for the crap quality of pics, btw, i'm known as the world's more dreadfull photographer, so i have to watch over this reputation :-P :-X
