xwingyoda Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 That's because Admins are scary when they are angry ;) LOL funny :D I can't explain this explosion of new members but its a really good sign, this means that our forums are really enjoyable and people are having a good time here, isn't that the most important thing???? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 3, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 3, 2005 Yes it is. But if they're signing up and NOT posting, doesn't that make them registered lurkers? Quote
SuvieD Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Most lurkers de-lurk and post when they want to. Many want the latest info on sets that Eurobricks is sort of known for. They will post when they are ready. I lurked for at least a few monthes before registering and then mostly lurked until April. I post when I can or have something I feel is worth saying so I assume other will do the same and if not then they will have to miss out on the great fun we have :-D ;) Lurkers . . . unite, or um, delurk!! eDeevo Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Blame SuvieD for bringing me here (your stuff in OTW BTW buddy ;) ) Life is Good. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 3, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 3, 2005 Drats! I forget to give myself the pleasure of a lurking phase... I jumped right into it... Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted May 3, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 3, 2005 Well its a lot less annoying than LugNet's system... Quote
snefroe Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Well its a lot less annoying than LugNet's system... yeah... i'm not a lugnet member but i seem to remember all sorts of nonsense about not being able to discuss topics unless it's allowed or something... i'm only eurobricks member, i just don't have the time to post and read on several forums, you'll only repeat yourself constantly anyway, so what's the point... Jipay Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Well part of the thing is that we are quite accessible. The admins are available and always pleased to discuss with people. We don't have this power distance which is so common to other places. I also think we can discuss all the topics here : from pirates to bionicles Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 4, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 4, 2005 As this forum is a general LEGO discussion forum there may be those (like me for example) with more specific interests (like Pirates for example) who want a more in depth discussion with only people with the same specific interests (like those at PirateBricks.com). Quote
Jipay Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Well that's why we have subthemes forums. But I think it helps to keep a general view on what is happening on other themes Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 4, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 4, 2005 Sub themes are good, but its not the same as participating in a forum devoted to a subject where the majority has the primary interest as yourself. Quote

We don't have this power distance which is so common to other places. I also think we can discuss all the topics here : from pirates to bionicles yeah... the admins on other forums do have a tendency to show they're in control ... we're also more relaxed... remember the petition against remakes/rehashed sets, a while ago? you could clearly see a difference in language between our replies and at fbtb, for instance... it seems we're all seeing this forum as fun, contrary to other forums where people easily loose their temper... one of the reasons probably is the limited number of people posting on a daily basis... fewer people, posting more, gives a stronger community, i guess ... Yes! That is why I have frequented fbtb less and less. People are too sensitive sometimes... Thus far, I have been impressed greatly by this forum, you guys are great ;) Life is Good. Quote
yoda601 Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Umm, you can blame me for telling a couple of friends, who told more... But only about, well, seven people who have joined I know... Quote

Wolf04 Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 I really think that "members" who have 0 posts should be deleted and those who didn't post at all this year should also be deleted. You know, clean up. Quote
DoubleT Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Well that wont happend, people should have an chance to post... Not all post as much as others ;) Quote

Not a chance!!!!! Let me remind you that we are a community, and as such, every member compose this community, posting members as well as non posting members ;) Quote
yoda601 Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 How many times do you see Yoda agreeing with himself in person? *wacko* I agree with xwingyoda Quote

You know, clean up. I just love Mr Wolf's approach to things! I've worked out this forumla: Number of users posting = total number of registered users / 10 Quote
