bigfatslob Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 Well, I've seen a forum where members are non-posting members for two years ( this is an extreme example ) then one day they began providing a healthy number of posts as well as providing mocs. Patience is needed in this regard, especially with a fairly new and growing site. bfs Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 8, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 8, 2005 They're like seeds waiting to germinate and once they do they'll grow uncontrollably... Quote
Wolf04 Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 I still think you should delete those accounts that haven't posted at all - 0 - and have joined in 2004 or earlier. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 9, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 9, 2005 I must ask why would this need to be done Mr Wolf? 351 members isn't exactly record breaking, so does it really matter if they post or not? Quote
Vader Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Some people like to join forums just to show support, others jsut wait until they have something to say before posting. Granted that we have a few who havent said anything since joining but as theyve taken the time to join then were not about to go deleting there accounts, remember some of these could be young children that are nervous about posting and are just waiting for the right time. Governor Mister Phes Posted May 10, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 10, 2005 Absolutely, and not everyone is obnoxious like me and posts a dosen messages per hour. How many known children have registered so far? Or is that just a theory there's children registering? Quote
Vader Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Well anyone under the age is considered to be a child in the eyes of most laws and we know that there a few people here under that age. As for exact numbers, well we dont know that as alot of people dont fill out there ages on the members profile and we dont expect everyone to want to do so, its just there as a way to say happy birthday to members. As were a lego site i would imagine that quite alot of children visit us, thats why its importaint to try and keep things friendly and clean. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 10, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 10, 2005 Are young children really interested in particpating in a message board though? Quote
Vader Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Well i have 2 young cousins that do all the time on quite alot of other toy related websites and one of them is even registered here. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 11, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 11, 2005 Quick! Get the other one registered! Actually the impression I got from many of today's kiddies is text based websites are too boring for them. They want eye candy and interactivity to keep them amused. Good old fashioned text based communication doesn't seem to cut it for them. Quote
Vader Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 True most do like the flashy site to keep them amused, but if its lego that they wanna talk about then were the best. ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 12, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 12, 2005 Spread the word brother! Actually, this forum seems difficult to find. About 18 months ago I went looking for a decent LEGO message board because I'd had enough of the Lego.com message boards and I couldn't find many. I attempted the same again a couple of months back I stumbled upon this one more or less by luck. I think I found a link from another website. Short of typing "EuroBricks" into Google this forum won't appear as a listing. I've tried all kinds of variation like: "Lego message board" "Lego forum" "Lego discussion" "Lego user group" "Chat about LEGO" and so on... But none of the results yielded this forum... Quote
