Dzoni90 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 My entry for Royal Coronation Festivities. In Breshaun everything is almost ready for tomorrow's visit of His Majesty and Queen Beatrice. Army has its general rehearsal, tailor is cleaning his show windows etc. Baron Nicolas has come with his sailboat to Breshaun's port to pick up some goods for his estate. Bregir Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Great looking harbour scene, Dzoni! I really like the different buildings one the harbour front, especially the barber and the lighthouse. I love the life on the street, with the parade (great drum), the window cleaner, and the guy lighting the lamps. The hanging flags and the sevage outlet is great, as is the water. The only thing I am not entirely convinced about is the boat - it seems too low in the water - but the pier is great. Very well done. Quote
Capt Wolf Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Lovely port scene! Full of color and activity! Nice work on the water, too. This gives me something to shoot for in my builds! Quote
blackdeathgr Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Aaaaand, that's official! Breshaun has finally a port! And a fine one i might add! The buildings including the lighthouse are the highlights of this build and so is the pier! Also the hidden rat is funny (i start thinking that we must include one rat in every MOC for others to find-something like "find Waldo") Vive Le Roi! Quote
Elostirion Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Great scene. I really like the action, it feels quite alive. Your water works perfectly, especially around the small ship/boat of Nicholas. Which by the way is really well done. The lighthouse with its staircase, the small part of the rocks going into the water, the texturing of the lighthouse wall etc - just so pretty. That bridge from the lighthouse to the real houses is very cool too, as are the colours and design of the houses. Very, very nice scene. Quote
Ayrlego Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Indeed a great scene! The buildings, especially the mix of colours, are very good looking. The parade is also really nice - I particularly like the drum! Great job! Quote
Phadeout Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 This is great, truly lovely to look at, so much happening, great little touches everywhere. Really helps with my imagining of the Brick Seas setting, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to try something in this vein having seen this. Very inspirational. Quote
TitusV Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 That's actually a very good build, one of my favoured yet. I love all the details you put into it, and especially the different building-techniques. Keep it up! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Absolutely fantastic, one of the finest harbour efforts so far. Now I have to scrap my harbour before I have posted it ... Quote
Kai NRG Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Fantastic build! Great take on everyday life in Breshaun (well, I guess it's not everyday that you celebrate a coronation, but you've got lots of ordinary stuff going on too!). Really like that tower and the other buildings are very nice too! Quote
Dzoni90 Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 Thank you all very much, I am glad that you like it. Quote
Puvel Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 That's a lively port you made sir! The variety in houses is very well done, the tailor is a beautiful building. Lots of pretty details to spot everywhere really Quote
Captain Genaro Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Fantastic scene. I love how you were able to create a row of very different buildings that look completely natural when placed next to one another. The quay is very nice as well with excellent details such as the arches and an effective use of texturing to create a weathered look. You did an outstanding job with the minifigures. The posing on each one looks very nice, and by giving them each specific roles it makes the scene come alive much more than if they were randomly placed throughout the build. Quote
Mpyromaxos Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Beautiful port!! Loved the scene you created with the people in the port and the marching army in the parade..!! Amazing lighthouse and the little bridge that connects him with the houses! good job also with the different techniques and especially the tailor store!! Keep up!! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Stunning port scene It is builds like this that make me enjoy the Pirate theme so much Each building is excellent, and has its own unique look with the different colors and styles you've given them Quote
Matthias Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Absolutly fantastic. I just have looked around here at eurobricks, didn t make a sound. When I have seen this I must say "Whoa" loudly. The whole sceene is great. I can t pick something out, because there is nothing more or less good than another thing. perfect! Quote
Fuzzy MacFuzz Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 I can't add much to all the comments already made here, but this is a truly great build that captures the true spirit of BoBS. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 That's a really nice and lively port scene! My only nitpick is that the bow of the ship is a bit low, it looks like it will go under. Quote
Dzoni90 Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 Thank you all very much! Baron Nicolas lives on Le Bellan, his estate is near Breshaun, so this is just small boat for fast coastal trade. Also, I don't have many experience in building ships, so it maybe has some minor fallacies I am not aware of Quote
Captain Dee Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Excellent port scene. The muted earth tones of the buildings look great in this setting. The lighthouse is beautiful and the elevated walkway connecting it to the other building is a neat feature. The decorated stone quay looks very convincing with the uneven dark grey of the wet surface. And of course you've filled the scene with lots of nice minifigs and other details. Lovely depiction. Quote
Littleworlds Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Lovely and scenic harbour! Buildings and stone works look absolutely brilliant. The arch connecting lighthouse with one of the buildings is also a lovely, whimsical detail. Very, very good! Quote
Capn Frank Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Great buildings Dzoni. I see the Tailor, what are the other buildings used for? Quote
Dzoni90 Posted May 11, 2016 Author Posted May 11, 2016 Thank you all! @Phred, the building in the middle is a town house, and the right one is some kind of storehouse. Quote
Gideon Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Very nice build overall, and especially that lighthouse! I also like the different colors and styles of the houses a lot The street could however have used a bit more detailing when compared to the standard of the rest of the build. Quote
