Raskolnikov Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 (edited) Hey, so I finished my Star Destroyer MOC, the ISD Tyrant, a 56-inch Star Destroyer with a full interior. Full Imgur album with detailed descriptions of each image is here: https://imgur.com/gallery/snxk3 Or, check it out on Flickr: selected pics are below, and there are more on my Flicker photostream (I know "selected" is still a lot in this case, but there's a lot to show!) Thanks to ISD Avenger for some inspiration and the naming convention. **EDIT May 6, 2016** So you don't have to read all the comments, I'll try to add additional content here. So there's now a brief video of the gun turrets: https://www.flickr.c...eposted-public/ Also, I'm working on a WIP diary that has early pics and explanations from the build process, here: http://imgur.com/a/obQGE And thanks again for all the wonderful feedback. will Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Just been looking st this after the link was posted on another forum. Simply amazing! This is the best moc I've seen. All the details inside are incredible. Love it. Quote
Admonisher Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Wow! I was NOT expecting the fully tricked-out interior! That is ... mind blowing. (Also, it's a comparatively small detail, but love the use of the two-toned legs for the Imperial officers. First time I've seen that done.) Quote
Fenom Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Now I understand the extent of your love for Imperials Fantastic work! Quote
Raskolnikov Posted April 27, 2016 Author Posted April 27, 2016 (Also, it's a comparatively small detail, but love the use of the two-toned legs for the Imperial officers. First time I've seen that done.) Picked up that idea in the updating your minifigures thread, actually, so credit to Eurobricks users on that one. Quote
La Chupacabra Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Impressive! As fan of Imperials I'm delighted. Quote
TheRacker Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 This is absolutely stunning! You could definitely get it to pay for itself by renting it out to lego and star wars events haha. But really this is some next level MOCing right here. I'm blown away. Quote
Flandy Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 I was ready to spew forth with superlatives about the size and the detail outside and how amazing it looks, then I scrolled down to the interior and it just kept going layer after layer of seemlessly integrated genius, THEN, there's a hangar bay! Absolutely amazing! Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Good grief! Stunning! ...and the use of Batman's legs for the officers is an idea that's getting pinched! Quote
MartinCliffe Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 This is just totally awesome. Stunning work. The narrow corridors and cramped conditions make it feel much more real, like a naval submarine or something. Fantastic! Quote
Ragnos Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 This is just magnificent. You've really made my day. This is the best Moc I have seen in a very long time. Do you have any other pictures of the detention centre? I'd love to see it in more detail. Quote
KevinYoung Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Love it what an awesome build. Congrats!! Quote
BrickCurve Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Amazing, the best star destroyer I have ever seen! Quote
Joemmo Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Love the fact you've made it for minifigs too. Super work Quote
mortesv Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Excellent work Rasko! That engine area mmmm! :) What I like the most is that everything makes sense when looking at it from the inside as a minifig scale model - and on the outside it looks like a studio skal model. A build like this often requires a lot of compromises, but this one pulls it off! An what an interior it is, with little ships and crew compartments - It is full of little stories. I am drooling over these pictures :) I have one tiny suggestion though. For the most part there are very limited studs on the model - just enough to add to the overall detail. However there are a few large studded areas - have you considered making these areas with tiles instead? Quote
Phoib Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 This is, hands down, the best Imperial Star Destroyer ever. I am very curious to the video's you mentioned, and how that Sentinel shuttle is stored. But simply amazing build! Quote
peedeejay Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 This would already be mindblowing without an interior. But with it I don't know what to say... Quote
Krask Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Good god :O everything is perfect, interiors make everything better! love the death star canteen reference as well Quote
Borex Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Wait, all those layers are actually fitting in that build? So ubercool. This MOC must have cost a fortune, but every dime spend on it worthwhile! Jealousy over here. Quote
Kristof Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Frankly, there is just one big downside of this MOC - it makes all other ISDs look inferior What an incredible job on that interior - I didn't think it was possible to build something like this. Holly **** it even has a hangars. By any chance, have you documented the designing and building process? I'd be extremely interested in some WIP shots and remarks! Quote
Artizan Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 This is one of the best things I've ever seen in a long time! Quote
