LegoMathijs Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Last week, I've finished my new scale model: It's a John Deere 75G excavator. I've chosen built it in in the Model Team style. The chassis and boom were the easiest part of the excavator. The cabin and rest of the upper part were challenging. It was a nice challenge to get the excavator in the correct shape. It took four month’s to complete the excavator with display. The 75G scale model has several functions from the real one: · Dozer blade · Rotating 360 degrees · Cabin door opens · Yanmar Tier 4 engine · Engine doors opens Pictures: 01_John_Deere_75G by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr 02_John_Deere_75G by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr 03_John_Deere_75G by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr 04_John_Deere_75G by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr 06_John_Deere_75G by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr 13_overview_functions by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr Many thanks to JaapTechnic for making the custom stickers for this John Deere 75G scale model. Beard Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 It looks very authentic. Good work! I will add a picture of the original from John Deere just to illustrate how nice your model is compared to it: Quote
Funky Koval Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Me gusta! The pistons and stringwork on the digger arm look great. And I'm rather fond of the old-style hinge plates on the side. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 (edited) Nice job on the excavator,it is a interesting building style. It is a shame it is not rc,perhaps should should make this at a later date. Edited April 29, 2016 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
Karle Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 (edited) It is a very eye catching model, nice job. I've not heard the term "Model Team style" before, would you explain what you mean? Edited April 29, 2016 by Karle Quote
LegoMathijs Posted April 29, 2016 Author Posted April 29, 2016 (edited) Thanks for the nice compliments! @Karle: Model Team was a official LEGO theme which was discontinued in the second part of the 90's. The Model Team theme is a combination of the "normal" LEGO pieces (System) and Technic. The difference between Technic and Model Team (I hope I explain it correctly) is that Model Team is more like scale modeling, and Technic is more about technical working functions. (but you can also do scale modeling with Technic) A link to the Model Team theme:http://brickset.com/sets/theme-Model-Team @ Alasdair Ryan: Thanks for the compliment! I do like more scale modeling than using rc. I like to build small vehicles for using in a layout. Often, RC models will be too big for using in my layouts. But this John Deere would be awesome too in RC Edited April 29, 2016 by LegoMathijs Quote

Jeroen Ottens Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Amazing! I thought it looked good and then I realized the scale... Very well done Quote
LegoMathijs Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 Thanks for the nice compliments! The scale is one of the challenging parts. But I like to build small scale vehicles Quote
