Ahoy once more!

This is an entry for Oleon's Coronation Festivities challenge.

The Poseidon Garden

King Philip I was immensely impressed, and Queen Beatrice even more so. Continuing their tour through the city of Breshaun, they had just arrived at the Poseidon Garden - a terraced garden laid out in honor of the God of the Sea. Now, walking down the winding staircase, they looked around, then at each other, and lastly to mayor Sisnera, who was more than proudly smiling all over his face. This almost feels like being home in Granoleon - the King to his own surprise caught himself thinking - quite a decent garden! This tour has been nothing but joy so far.

But now - hush - enough talk, enjoy the walk!

about:

Well, this one was tough. Constructing it was all challenging and fun, but at 18000+ parts LDD crashed quite a few times - which wasn't that much fun. The entire facility measures 165x128 studs. The ground took a lot of different design attempts to feel okay, and placing these bricks was a mind-numbing business

Anyway, I'm quite happy with the final result now.

I hope you like it, too :classic:

C&C welcome!

Very nice outdoor scene, this is exactly the kind of grandeur I'm envisioning Oleon's major cities to display :classic:

The carriage is in itself a lovely build!

This gives some idea of what Andre Le Notre might have built if he had been 2cm high and yellow. Truly this build is worthy of the great master! I can give no greater praise. default_laugh_new.gif

 this is just amazing...

So many details, so many techniques...

If I have to choose one tough, I'd choose the fleur de lys in the garden

Stop it already. That is another amazing build from you. Oleon at it's finest.

Many inspiring techniques used here, I will definitely print some of it as inspiration for future builds like that.

What impresses me most are the double-curved stairs, just brilliant.

default_wubnew.gif Fantastic. Love the fleur-de-lis on the ground; but the fountain is great too and so are the colors you've used for the ground and the back wall! The stairs are amazing as well!

Pretty much most of the above comments sum up my awe at this creation - it is indeed a masterpiece and definitely speaks of the grandeur of Olean cities! I especially love the staircase leading down into the park itself.

Breshaun is surely shaping out to be a high style settlement, and brings the grandeur of Oleon to the colonies.

It looks like something that would be in relation to a royal or governmental palace - perhaps you will grace us with some of its surroundings at some point?

The low Fleur-de-lis hedges are brilliant, as is the staircase. Very well done all around!

wub_drool.gif Stunningly awesome build, KB! Absolutely wonderful work with the garden fluer-de-lis, and the stairs (default_wubnew.gif), carriage, and fountain are superb as well! Then the architecture on the wall, the cobblestone, and the minifig activity are brilliantly executed too, and the size of the build only adds to its impressiveness!

Great technique with the lawn as well, I'll have to see when I can get my hands on a bunch of 1x1 green tiles now!

This garden is easily one of my favorites of your creations. It just looks so perfectly life-like. The decorated wall with the integrated arches is beautiful and the big staircases leading from it to the garden are fantastic. The cobblestone looks terrific, and the fountain is a superb design, especially the sculpted perimeter. But the fleur-de-lis hedges are the best part - I love the artistry of beautifully trimmed hedges in real life and these are the best design I've ever seen in Lego form. It's a perfect garden to my eyes and very worthy of a visit by the royalty. The carriage is also a lovely design, especially the big glass enclosures on the ends. Excellent work all around. :classic::thumbup::pir-wub:
