Released from Bloody Bill’s capture when the Corries paid Bloody Bill’s price for the Heart of Eslandia, Capt Reyngout feared the MCTC would blame him for the loss of the ship. But the lack of proper escort was deemed the problem, and Capt. Reyngout’s reputation was intact. With the activation of the Heart of Eslandia’s sister ship, the Prince Fernando, Capt. Reyngout was once again in command of an elegant, large trader. The Prince Fernando, built back in the youth of the Eslandola king, honors him with a royal crest on the main foresail and a princely figurehead on the bow. And with normal canvas sails that are not blood-red like on the HoE, the ship looks less Corrie-ish than its now Corrie sister ship. Quote
Captain Dee Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 This is a fine way to differentiate sisterships. The figurehead is noted and the sails look nice. I suppose most people will tell you they look better (more realistic perhaps) but I always liked the red sails of the HoE. Here's to better luck in the monthy trade action. Quote

"Fore", "main" or "mizzen" denotes the mast which the sail is on, and from bottom upwards on each (square-rigged) mast you have the sails "course", "topsail", and "topgallant". (And as far as I remember, the next one is called the "royal" but I would have to look that up) I believe what you were looking for was "fore topsail". :) Quote

I know the new sails look more realistic, but I still prefer the red sails of the HoE, too. Like what you've done here; the white sails do help the Eslandian look and I especially like the printing on them. Thanks! The royal crest is from the sail of the old Armada Flagship, but with the colors altered. And the lines of stitching are hand drawn with colored pencil. And you are, of course, correct on my terminology error. I knew I was wrong when I typed it, but couldn't remember what the name for the topsail was. Second: this is the first ship I see with great lines and no tension or semi-placed bricks!! Makes me want to build one (if I only have an LDD working PC...) Quote

I can imagine Drake or Cortes on there somewhere. I love the smooth lines you have acheived throughout and the gold/green colour scheme. Lovely new figurehead, great sails...all in all this is one of my favourits ships on BoBS. I hope you have better luck with her than with her sister! Quote

I have to say, I really do prefer it like this - the red sails were, to me, just a bit overpowering - and superb execution with the new sails, especially with the printing on them! The rigging you have adds a lot, and the curves of the hull are excellent as well! Great job here! Quote
