azog Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Does anyone know when the Scooby doo line will retire? Quote
Jacob_9821 Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Whenever the production of the sets has all but stopped and all previous stock in your local stores (ie; LEGO Stores, Wal-Mart, ect.) has been drained to nothing. Quote
medaron Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 So the Scooby line was just a one and done? No further sets expected? Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 So the Scooby line was just a one and done? No further sets expected? I wouldn't be too surprised, to be honest. Is there even a current series happening? Quote
azog Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 Its a sad thought that there will never be anymore Scooby doo sets in the future, it was a great theme! I guess we have to consider our selves lucky that we even got a theme! We can always make some MOC's at least we have the main characters! Quote
TheLegoExperience Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 I wouldn't be too surprised, to be honest. Is there even a current series happening? There is, but the sets are more based off the original series anyway. Quote
makoy Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 I am not surprised if it is just one off release. Was not planning on getting the whole gang but after getting the Mystery Machine I ended up getting the whole gang anyway... With CMF series 14 and Monster Fighters we can already MOC many memorable episodes. So glad we even have one wave. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Honestly I would like to see sets from other Hannah-Barbera shows, rather than more Scooby. Would not complain, though. Quote
ritzcrackerman Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 It would be a shame if it was a one-off release, but at least we got all the main characters, and there are plenty of other recent themes (Monster Fighters, CMF monster series) to fill out your MOCs. I really liked the theme, and am sad to see it a one-and-done. :( Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Could it be like SpongeBob Squarepants, with waves a couple years apart? Quote
makoy Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Could it be like SpongeBob Squarepants, with waves a couple years apart? If it would be like Spongbob, Scooby Doo should have had a successful 4 waves first before taking a rest for a year.... maybe until next halloween it could be a recurring theme? Quote
azog Posted May 4, 2016 Author Posted May 4, 2016 That would be amazing if every Halloween they create a new wave for Scooby doo! Quote
The Jersey Brick Guy Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 At the Cherry Hill Lego Store, they have the remaining Scooby Doo sets on a display in the middle with the other discounted sets. Quote
azog Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 If the Lego store has them on clearance than I wonder if there retiring in June Quote
milojthatch Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Honestly I would like to see sets from other Hannah-Barbera shows, rather than more Scooby. Would not complain, though. That's about where I am. I'm a much bigger fan of properties like Flintstones or Johnny Quest anyway, but I'm OK with some Scooby as long as his paired with other HB characters. Quote

Exactly....i would also like to see the Flinstones, but also hope the Scooby doo series continues...my son loves the cartoon. Quote
K_Tiger Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 If the Lego store has them on clearance than I wonder if there retiring in June I wonder when Wal-Mart, Target etc. will follow suit. Quote
jurcek Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 I wonder when Wal-Mart, Target etc. will follow suit. The sale is only in US...nothing happening in Europe. Quote
Borex Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 The sale is only in US...nothing happening in Europe. Europe had these sets later than the US, maybe in a few months? Quote
samurai-turtle Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I wonder when Wal-Mart, Target etc. will follow suit. One of the Wal-Mart near me had the lighthouse on clearance. (And yes I got one then, before it was all gone.) Quote
ChiefPie Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I hope it doesn't retire soon, there's still a lot that could be made. Quote
K_Tiger Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 One of the Wal-Mart near me had the lighthouse on clearance. (And yes I got one then, before it was all gone.) I grabbed the plane set when a grocery put it on clearance several months back, but thus far that is the only set I’ve seen on sale. Quote
makoy Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Guys, while we are talking about retirement...there is a new Scooby Doo polybag It's a good sign that the theme won't be retired soon, right? Quote
BrickSantorum Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Guys, while we are talking about retirement...there is a new Scooby Doo polybag It's a good sign that the theme won't be retired soon, right? Isn't that just the promo from the Lego Scooby-Doo Blu-Ray that just came out? Quote
azog Posted May 13, 2016 Author Posted May 13, 2016 Guys, while we are talking about retirement...there is a new Scooby Doo polybag It's a good sign that the theme won't be retired soon, right? Well if it isn't the promo, its a good sign for the theme! This theme is fantastic and I personally can't see lego dropping such a good theme Quote
