Janjy Giggins Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Humanity discovered the relics of alien civilisations long before it encountered other life-forms themselves. When deep-space survey ships like the LL919 left their local sector they found strange ruins and abandoned artefacts on distant worlds like Mara. The next time they launched, the survey ships carried teams of civilian xenoarchaeologists. It would be decades before they even began to understand the objects they had found; over a century before their researches pointed the way to true contact. The Monolith couldn't be scratched, even with tempered diamond-tipped tools. Although initial survey missions were usually carried out by a solo pilot, the LL919 could carry science teams or civilian researchers. It was pretty cramped in there for long flights. M2m Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Wow ! Great shot with excellent lightning and an amazing model ! Instant like ! What are those "fishbowl" helmets ? Quote
Janjy Giggins Posted May 4, 2016 Author Posted May 4, 2016 Thanks! The helmets are from the Spongebob Squarepants theme - you also get them in opaque and printed versions as globes etc. http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Sandy_Cheeks Janjy Quote
Patgeo Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 One of my favourite Sci-Fi themes! Great job with your ΜΟC, and especially with your photoes! Quote
Janjy Giggins Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 Thanks! Glad people are liking the photos. Amazing what you can do with a random lightbrick found at the bottom of a box... Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Excellent build and fantastic photography! Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 This is some incredible photo editing! The ship here is an awesome design to go with a great landscape! Quote
Janjy Giggins Posted May 6, 2016 Author Posted May 6, 2016 Cheers! First spaceship I've built in about a decade, so I'm glad people like it. Quote
Fuppylodders Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 If that is the first spaceship you have built in a decade, you have some good raw talent there for ship building! It is quite unique and bug-like looking. I really like it, and the scenery too! The lighting and background just make it that much better too, well done! Quote
ToniMontana Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Cool! Reminds me of the space bug from red dwarf! Quote
Master_Data Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 This is a great build. I've always wanted to use those Sandy scuba helmets in a space MOC, and yours makes them look even better. Great job! Quote
Junior Shark Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 This is awesome! The lighting and editing really sell the MOC. The retro ship and the monolith are the bee's knees'- the X-Pod cockpit is soooo dope! Quote
Th3_Br1ck_Kid Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Cool spacecraft! You finally found a way to do something with those huge Star Wars Micro Fighter planets. I admire that. Quote
LittleJohn Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Stunning work here! The terrain is fabulous, and the ship itself is just amazing! Excellent work with the interior too Quote
polarstein Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Great scene. The helmets are hilarious and the alien artifacts looks like it's a former alien billboard which ended up as space trash. Good pictures with excellent lighting. Quote
Volt_Bricks Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Amazing model! And amazing pictures that make it look enormously stunning to see, what a beautiful build! Quote
davidroberts01341 Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 What an excellent ship, base and lighting in the photography. I like your use of X-Pods for the cockpit and the Death Star 1/2 for the belly of the craft. Quote
