M337 Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 That thing would look really badass with some nice spoilers Quote
jono rocky Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Under car lights and speakers like 8694 nitro menace. Quote
Jurss Posted May 9, 2016 Author Posted May 9, 2016 Yes, there could be some audio with time, some spoiler, but nothing extra big. Quote
Jurss Posted May 9, 2016 Author Posted May 9, 2016 Brother has big garage, and allowed to put my project there As you can see, installed reinforced suspension on back and better brakes Before it was so Quote
Jurss Posted May 10, 2016 Author Posted May 10, 2016 Had a long night in garage rebuilding propeller shaft tunnel before After You can see also new shortshifter there But the main reason was Quote
Vectormatic Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Love this thread! And i kind of want this set as well, for the B-model, my only gripe is the lack of proper suspension on a €70 set, but that might be fixable right? The rest all looks really cool as a base for a performance tuned car. Quote
Jurss Posted May 10, 2016 Author Posted May 10, 2016 Out of topic mood - it would be pretty hard to implement here suspension, because back is too narrow (with normal independent suspension and diffrential it would be too wide) and V8 engine in the front is taking lot of space. For size according to these tires - it is hard. And it isn't my goal yet. OK, new spoiler came Two installation options Second I think, this is better, and it will stay. OK, as it is possible, to see all gallery, then won't hide anything more Situation this morning Situation now Much better steering (also now with Ackermann) Now Before Some picture from WIP Some more pictures http://bricksafe.com/pages/Jurss/42041b_tuning Quote
TheNextLegoDesinger Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 OMG i had the set when it was a limited edition one and never thougth of doing this. i may rebuild it to make it in the style of yours Quote
Jurss Posted May 11, 2016 Author Posted May 11, 2016 I just dind't had my own ideas ... Forgot one ting, which i did after last post If needed, i can remove front part and take picture from other side. Quote
Vectormatic Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Hmm, i see what you mean with the front suspension, that is VERY little space to work in any springs/arms, and the steering geometry would get ducked up as well, introducing bump steer. As for the rear, i'd hope the suspension arms from the snow mobile from a few years back might work, but those are 5 studs long, and probably wont allow for a driveshaft in between with any decent amount of motion. Now im thinking maybe make a rigid axle assembly for the back with the diff in it, put that thing on a few non friction pins and shocks, wouldnt be independent, but better then no suspension at all. The front looks like a macpherson strut type thing might fit better then double wishbones, but i have no idea how to do that compactly in technic Im getting really tempted to pick this set up though, the B-model has always intrigued me, and this just confirms the modding potential Quote
Jurss Posted May 11, 2016 Author Posted May 11, 2016 There is one compact solution for rear, with differential and independent suspension. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92099&st=125#entry2347452 Quote
Vectormatic Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 There is one compact solution for rear, with differential and independent suspension. http://www.eurobrick...25#entry2347452 Good find, that is 4.5 studs including the pivot point if im seeing it correctly, not sure how it would fit exactly, but that type of arms/hubs would indeed work Quote
Rishab N Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Maybe you could use this piece https://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=6572&name=Technic,%20Steering%20Knuckle%20Arm%20with%20Ball%20Joint%20(Towball)&category=%5BTechnic,%20Steering%5D#T=C For smaller suspension? Quote
Jurss Posted May 11, 2016 Author Posted May 11, 2016 Not shure, that they would something more compact, and i also dont have them. About back with differential, once i made this monster Quote
Vectormatic Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Cool! Is the diff free floating, and does it move as the suspension flexes? Quote
Jurss Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 Yes, the same idea like i posted before http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92099&st=125#entry2347452 Quote
