This is my version of Donald Duck's car in LEGO. It was a challenge to build eventhough it is so small, but of course a fun challenge! :classic: I would appreciate if you also had a look at the LEGO Ideas-project here.

Some history

Donald Duck´s car made its first appearence in the movie "Don Donald" from 1937, and in 1938 it was introduced in the newspaper comics by Al Taliaferro. The design is originally based on an "American Bantam 1938"-car, but has changed slightly over the years and varies from different cartoonists.

Its name "The 313" comes from the license plate that has number 313, which also is the day when Donald Duck was born (13th of March).

The design is mainly inspired by the original fictiv car "Belchfire Runabout", which you can see in the last photo.

Something tells me there's a blue shell out there - somewhere - with his name on it.

Yeah hehe, the number 313 also referring to bad luck (13) times 3.

Great idea! I think donald should be sitting a bit higher, so maybe some extra studs beneath the seating would be better (just my opinion though).

Donald is my favorite from the disney series and i really like you chose to make his car.

Great creation and wonderful idea! The little scenes just show what you can do with a bit of creativity, well done!

Thanks! Glad you like it! It was really fun to build.

It's a nice little build, but I cannot see them making something so small and from an existing theme.

If you want people to build it, why not just share the instructions?

This is a pretty cool MOC. A fantastic piece that compliments the Donald minifig well.

Thanks! :classic:

Thanks! Well there is no real "Donald Duck theme" or "Duckberg theme" so this would be the start of it in that case. And I think since there is a minifig as Donald at least I would love to see a set of his car, eventhough it is small (but there are many much smaller LEGO sets for sale so why not? :) ) On the other the design is not as simple as it might look like.

Hmm... how do you mean why I would not just share the instructions? It is not just about that I want others to build it, I want to see it as a real LEGO product as well (I guess that is the point of Ideas?). Whenever I have the time to make instructions I will share them though.

Nice little build  . Supporter #504.

Great!

I absolutely love this! The grill on the front brings it all together. It and the license plate are the exact right colors to bring that old-timey 30s feel right home. And that car crash picture is completely priceless. Keep it up, you have a knack for getting down the classic Disney aesthetic.

That is one fine creation, with excellent use of curved slopes. A very clean and cute build that really captures the source material.

Just because neither has happened yet doesn't mean they absolutely can't. We certainly can look to past CUUSOO / Ideas sets for indications of what they're likely or not to do, but not of concrete barriers. Nearly every Ideas set to come out so far has been some sort of first, after all.

Fantastic translation to Lego.

Great little scenes. Love the broken down one...

Now if we'ld only have more (angry) Donald expresions to choose from...
