Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 A favourite for all the children and for the grown-ups who managed to stay young inside: Paolo, the phenomenal puppet player of Pontelli! Paolo's tales of heroes, knights and villains are loved throughout the city... ... and his hat is usually well filled with coins. Paolo currently stages the story of a long forgotten civil war, including a mummy king coming from the desert. Wild! (And Alberto da Pontelli is a fan too) It was high time to add some "Art and Culture" to Pontelli! C&C Welcome Quote
blackdeathgr Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Your imagination never ceases to amaze me! GREAT idea appropriate of that era! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Hmm, Kali Civil War reference? Fun build with good use of arches Looks like he has the monkey's attention too Quote
LittleJohn Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Great little build, CB! The hat filled with coins is a very nice touch and I like the arches in the wall Quote
Capt Wolf Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Imaginative build, well executed! Great use of micro figs. Very fun! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 Lovely idea! Right Your imagination never ceases to amaze me! GREAT idea appropriate of that era! Thanks for the compliment. I actually thought that I had run out of ideas ... and then I started thinking about what the city of Pontelli is missing. And then I figured, I couldn't do a decent theatre Hmm, Kali Civil War reference? Fun build with good use of arches Looks like he has the monkey's attention too I keep wondering where all these monkeys are coming from. I try to keep them out of my MOCs, but they manage to creep in somehow... Yepp, Kaliphlin Civil War reference! Well spotted. Great little build, CB! The hat filled with coins is a very nice touch and I like the arches in the wall Thanks! Not to mention my minimalistic approach to foilage Imaginative build, well executed! Great use of micro figs. Very fun! Very original and well executed. Thank you Quote
Captain Dee Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Excellent idea for the arts. The microfigs are perfect for puppets and the hat full of coins is a nice feature. The arched wall makes a nice backdrop and you have a good cast of characters in the audience. But what's this gibberish about a mummy king coming from the desert? Get out! I wonder if Paolo the phenomenal puppet player of Pontelli has ever "poised precariously over a percolating pit of putrid pasta"? (Just a bit of comics trivia for you. ) Good work. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 Ah. Dee captain is back. Haven't read from you in a while it seems. Thanks. I haven't worked out the pasta reference yet.... Quote
Bregir Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Excellent idea and great execution. One wonders where he got the idea to the story from, eh? Best detail is the upside down hat with the coins! Quote
Captain Dee Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 One of Calvin's Spaceman Spiff fantasies in Calvin & Hobbes; he's been captured by aliens (his parents, as usual) who are threatening torture (the dinner table, as usual). After reading your alliteration in P this was the first thing that came to mind. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 (edited) One of Calvin's Spaceman Spiff fantasies in Calvin & Hobbes; he's been captured by aliens (his parents, as usual) who are threatening torture (the dinner table, as usual). After reading your alliteration in P this was the first thing that came to mind. Ok. That will have gone lost in the translation. Excellent idea and great execution. Phadeout Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I thought I had already commented but I guess not. You have once again built a very well constructed scene showing good skill but also made it so entertaining. I always rush to click on a new build from you and you never disappoint. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 22, 2016 Author Posted May 22, 2016 Nice scene! Thanks, Mike! I thought I had already commented but I guess not. You have once again built a very well constructed scene showing good skill but also made it so entertaining. I always rush to click on a new build from you and you never disappoint. That is a fine compliment. Quote
