MagPiesRUs Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Here's my second crusade MOC: The 4th Crusade started in 1202, and the Crusaders set off to Venice in Italy, who were providing the ships for the journey. The Crusaders however, didn't have enough money to pay the Venetians, and so Venice ordered them to capture some cities off of their trading rivals, the Byzantine Empire, to pay them. The Venetians and the Crusaders first attacked Zara, then Constantinople itself. They sacked and looted Constantinople, and it was never the same again. Here it is: The two armies clash: One Crusader has found the alcohol :-D : Another Crusader sets a building alight: An Orthodox priest escapes the fire: A knight takes a nice looking woman for himself :-$ Yet another soldier takes some loot from a shop owner: bird's eye (or catapult boulder) view: Now for the minifigs *sweet* Byzantine civilians (Shop owner, Orthodox priest, woman, Turkish merchant) Byzantine soldiers: Crusaders #1: Crusaders #2: The whole lot: Enjoy! Feedback appreciated :-) Quote
Corvus Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Not a pleasant moment in history, to be sure. :-( This MOC is good. I like the part of the Crusader slopping his wine. X-O I'm not sure what they're setting fire to, though. You said it was a building, but I just can't figure out what part of the building. Will Quote
iamded Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Very cool! Quite an action packed scene, the flame chain technique is always cool. The feather being used as spilt wine is genius! :-D *y* ~Peace Quote
Johnny 5 Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Did you base this on anything or was it just imagination? Its very nice btw. *y* Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted December 21, 2007 Author Posted December 21, 2007 Thanks for the feedback, everyone :-) Not a pleasant moment in history, to be sure. :-( This MOC is good. I like the part of the Crusader slopping his wine. X-O I'm not sure what they're setting fire to, though. You said it was a building, but I just can't figure out what part of the building. Will Thanks. I don't know why, but this was the first thought I had for another scene on the Crusades :-/ Mabye I wanted a Byzantine MOC. There isn't really much left of the building, it's supposed to be almost burnt down. The dome is part of the roof though, and you can just make out a door at the bottom. Very cool! Quite an action packed scene, the flame chain technique is always cool. The feather being used as spilt wine is genius! :-D *y* ~Peace Thanks, but I took the idea of the flare used as wine from one of Sly'Owl's MOCs :-$ Did you base this on anything or was it just imagination? Its very nice btw. *y* Thanks. It's imagination, but there are plenty of ideas used from paintings, drawings etc. included. Quote
