This is my 6th MOC based on a painting. Celebrating my new title ( *sweet* ), I've made quite a large scene.

This is another painting based on the attacks on Hougoumont. This one is Hougoumont, by Mark Churms. It is of a French attack on the Sothern part of Hougoumont under Jerome, Napoleon's brother, during the Battle of Waterloo.

Here's the painting:

And here's my MOC:

Whole Overview:

We have a big spiderweb decoration for Halloween, so I took some of the web off to make for some nice smoke. I think it works very well :-)

A captain leads the troops into action:

The French standard bearers:

The bodies of some of the fallen :'-( :

DSCF2360.jpg

A fresh batch of infantry charges in:

The British fire from behind their baricade:

A soldier reloads his musket while his comrades release a volley:

A French soldier takes cover while reloading:

The British, garrisoned in the buildings, shoot down on the masses of Frenchmen:

The inside of the buildings:

The British fire:

.. But one man has been wounded (my personal favourite pic):

A Scottish soldier secures the door to the house:

A Scotsman in a storehouse fires from out of a small window:

A view from atop the main house:

Here are some nice action shots of some of the soldiers:

A picture of the scene without smoke:

Who's this?

DSCF2402.jpg

The painter X-O The cossack must've killed an imposter (he didn't have a flare X-D )

Too bad I broke up his canvas and can't find his pallette he lost his canvas and pallette... So he's resorted to using a camera! :-D

Say cheese, everyone! X-D

It is not possible *sing* ! Everywhere I go around here, I find one of your superb scenes X-D *y*

I think you captured really well the spirit and action of that painting, and I like your use of some non-LEGO elements here and there to add reality to your work *y*

Once more a big shot !!!!

I like the details, like loading the rifles and the english guys behind the walls ....

I can't await the next one *y*

A really cool scene, with great use of that web as smoke, fog and rifle shots! *y* Great shots photographic wise too, this is all really neat! *y*

Wow! Thats beautiful! The details are great, and the web gives it a perfect finishing touch.

Can't wait for the next pic! :)

The painter has a camera! That really cracked me up! :-D

Awesome! Incredibly detailed. Just look at all those details inside the building. This is the best one I've seen yet!

The smoke really makes the scene, without it looks a little empty. I have to get some of that stuff.

One thing I don't really like is the plate made flag. I would've taken a custom one. Nonetheless this is marvelous. *wub*

You're really the master lego painter. *y*

These painting interpretations keep getting more and more epic!

I like the the use of the cobweb to simulate the smoke rather than resorting to digital means. Too bad if you wanted to use it for Santa beard though X-D

*Coughs, chokes*

*Gasping for air*

*Coughs some more*

*Gasp*

Oh the fog of war... Easily your best work yet TinyPies. You'll have to excuse me for not being able to say so earlier but I was struggling to breathe for all your excellent smoke. That looks extremely cool!

I notice now you didn't have to improvise the red uniforms either. *y* I also like the multiple angles you've shown in the photos that aren't seen in the single painting, particularly the scenes from behind the defenses and inside the farm building.

Without any doubt this is the best Lego painting you've made so far.

And I really like the way you've made the smoke.

Keep them coming please ;-)

Superb "Painting" TPRU! *y*

I love all the "special effects" that are on the MOC *sweet*

That's a great idea. I'm gonna have to steel i mean borrow that idea when i need some special effects. X-D

Without the permission of B :'-( ,

i added this MOC to Index of Painting MOCs. X-D

I'm not certain you're aware of this, but there is a method that may be easier for your windows to be made on the second floor.

In this pic:

picture1.png

Instead of using a 1x1 round brick, try using two 1x1 plates and the studs on the lattice bricks will fit perfectly. ;-)

Whaha the painter survived the cossack. :pir_laugh2:

The MOC looks great and the smoke packed out very well. Whitout smoke it's less active. I like the close ups of the soldiers in action and how they are being slaughtered. :pir-skull:

Great job! You should become a painter yourself! :pir_laugh2:

Or a cameraman ofcourse. :pir-tongue:

Great work.

Ah, thanks for the compliments, and for bringing this back to attention. It was only a couple of weeks back that I was considering creating a larger version of this MOC. :sweet:

The painter will be back one day...
