StarWars8Spoiler Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 (edited) I'm actually really excited by the prequel sets we're getting in the summer. The 2005 Vader Transformation was one of my first Star Wars sets, and I'll love to see what 12 years will do to a concept. The Jedi Starfighter and Booster Ring will also be fantastic, as it'll have young Boba AND a new version of Obi-Wan's Delta-7, the first in 15 years. In addition, when we're referencing the Republic fighter tank, are we talking about this one? Edited December 13, 2016 by ChristopherLee Quote

Damn you're right actually, I forgot the Saber Tank wasn't even canon anymore! Still, nice to see more clone stuff, especially since I was just last night considering forking out the cash for the old one second hand. My guess is the Clone Commander will be Bly, who could also double as a regular Clone Commander anyway because of the colour scheme. Be interesting whether or not they include his visor or not, it's kind of his defining feature but the revised Phase II helmets don't accommodate for that. Quote
jdm44 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 The First Order Battle Pack is a huge surprise since we already have one currently available. The Bounty Hunters Battle Pack breaks the rules for battle packs. I hope it's true. It gives me hope of one day getting a Battle Pack with Cantina aliens. The Republic Tank only sounds interesting for the minifigures. I hope it has movie versions of the characters instead of the old Clone Wars style. The Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Ring sounds amazing. I'm really looking forward to it. Quote

We don't even have any macrobinoculars yet at all, so we'll have something new regardless. As I said on previous page, there is always a chance they keep the phase II helmet but include holes. Quote

Clone Wars-based products since then have used normal style prints and molds. I'm certain this set will continue the trend. Quote
arc Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I've been out of the star wars loop for a while, with my favorite theme bionicle ending once again, I'm left drifting back in here. With that said, my wish of a duel of the fates set has finally been granted, after years of waiting. Is there a US price for that yet? The fighter tank sounds kinda cool too, looking foward to seeing it. Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Where has all this information spilled from? It's probably a case of my tired eyes not spotting the correct post Quote

That would be awesome. I remember friend that on the Battlefront 2 so the nostalgia would be huge. Just hoping it isn't an AT-ET or a turbo tank again. Even if it is one of those it is still a great wave. I hope the bounty hunter battlepack has named characters, if not than that is cool too as I can always use a few random aliens or guys to go with my jabba. Quote
DarthPotato Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Maybe the Bounty Hunter Battle Pack should be classified as a "Character Pack" instead. If it really does come with named characters, hopefully LEGO will start to do this more often in the future. Quote
Forresto Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I'm not completely sold on the FO battle pack. Sorta wished Flame Troopers had stayed exclusive to the larger sets since they're such specialists. However I won't begrudge TLG, for in the end we'll all benefit from it without a doubt. There must have been a surplus in production. I hope the officers are the grey uniformed ones. I am absolutely excited for the Bounty Hunter BP but i'm not holding high expectations. While the prospect sounds incredible, I have to remind myself this is a $13 set. Quote
Deathstroke77 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Wow, hype! The Bounty Hunter battle pack sounds awesome, can't wait to get me a 4-LOM and IG-88. Darth Vader transformation sounds awesome, too, I wonder how they've updated Battle Damaged Anakin. Quote
Artizan Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 hope we get a dark tan Bossk in the battlepack too. Quote
GryffindorResistance Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Really looking forward to this summer wave. Obi Wan's Starfighter, Rathtar Escape, and Vader's Transformation Chamber are first day pick ups for me. I've been waiting to add the Rathtars and Guavians to my Force Awakens collection for took long! Plus I've been hoping we'd get the star fighter sometime soon too, since the last one we got was a while ago. If the bounty hunter battle pack is true, that is the most amazing small set Lego has truly ever done. So pumped!! Quote
Seaber Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 (edited) For all those saying 4LOM and Zuckuss, as much as I'd love them, I think a more likely line up would feature Dengar, IG-88 (with new head piece/printed piece) Bossk and Greedo, as both of those already have elements specifically for them. Edited December 13, 2016 by Seaber Quote
Forresto Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I really doubt they'll put Boba Fett in a set that will be on shelves simultaneously with the Skiff set. Quote
Helghan Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 These are looking very interesting, execution will be the key though. Quote
Tariq j Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I like the idea of a BH battle pack. Something a little different and new as oppose to the usual "faction" based battle pack, empire/rebel/separatist etc. Quote
GeekByKnight Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 (edited) I'm wondering if the Bounty Hunter pack will be more of a generic "scum and villainy" set to compliment the Death Gang figures in the Rathtar set. Edited December 13, 2016 by GeekByKnight Quote
That Orange Thing Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 The bounty hunter pack can't be real can it? It sounds too good to be true. Surely they will not sell multiple battle packs to the same person like they do now with the faction sets. That being said I will buy a few for the alien heads if true so maybe I'm wrong. Quote
Ephseb Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 (edited) My thoughts on the 2017 sets: Winter wave: Will get both Battle Packs (2 Rebels, at least 4 Imperials) Y-Wing is awesome, though I'd have preferred the rumored Imperial Navy Officer over Moroff - but I get that he's probably the main selling point. Yoda's SF is a comparatively cheap source for the TIE windshield and has some useful dark green parts The Phantom is ok but the wrong rank insignia on Thrawn is really disappointing, especially at that price Scarif should be ok at a discount, it's not worth more than 35€ IMO I own both the Landspeeder and Desert Skiff already, so no need for them; similar situation with the Naboo Duel, I have all the figures and can build the rest myself. A-Wing looks really good but way overpriced - will be looking out for it to go on sale. not really digging the Microfighters, in the previous years I liked at least 2 of them - if only the rumor about an actual Navy Officer (Krennic's shuttle) had turned out to be true... Summer wave: No use for the FO battle pack, but it'll be fantastic for those who like Episode 7 Bounty Hunter battle pack seems unrealistic to me - why would they put highly-sought-after figures in such a cheap set? doesn't make sense and I hope it's a false rumor. I'd love an Episode II or III clones battle pack, or one for the Separatists (Geonosis!). No interest in the Freemakers, but they may be a good source for minifig parts when they go on sale for half the original price. Rathtars and Quadjumper are both ok I guess, but even for those who care about the new canon, I want to ask you - do you think these sets are needed at all? You could probably build both of them yourselves (with the Dr. Strange set for example), and you could get the figures in the 2015 Falcon. Obi-Wan's Delta-7 is overdue for an update, but I'm satisfied with the custom version someone posted here on EB some time ago, it looks excellent. Also, I was lucky enough to get young Boba when he was in the Advent Calendar. Now for the great stuff: I will definitely get the Vader Transformation for Sidious and Vader, the newest versions I have of these figures are from 2009 and 2010 respectively. And: the TX-130! Now that's a pleasant surprise! while I have the old TCW one, I can't pass up on Aayla and Bly and I hope the tank's design is adequate. Really wish they'd include more clones and less battle droids though. So that's it for now, I hope I can keep the strain on my wallet low, with my birthday being in mid-January and a big sale taking place at a local supermarket each year at the end of February. All in all, it looks like a well-balanced year. :) Edited December 13, 2016 by Ephseb Quote

Bala-Tik and the Guavian Death gang aren't in the Falcon set. Just Kanjiklub. Regarding the BH Battlepack: sounds too good to be true. 4 named figs in a BP? The new IG-88 was exclusive to a very expensive UCS (Executor) and I'd expect much wanted figs like Zuckuss and 4-LOM in a 100+ set. Quote
RetroInferno Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 The assumed source for these leaks is very reliable; if he mentionned IG-88 and Dengar with two more blanks (place holder for non already existing mini-figs) I would bet on the executor Bounty Hunters. Boba fett will surely be casted aside, he's already in 3 other sets right now ( skiff, freezing chamber and Slave 1 ). Also the previous leak mentionned that one of the battlepack was gonna be EP VII based and the other from the OT trilogy, not that many bounty hunters in the OT aside from those. About the scepticism on 4 named characters in a cheap set: Duel on Naboo has 3 named Jedis included for 25$! So guys the most hyped set of 2017 costs 13$!? :D Quote
VaderFan2187 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Yay for awesome 2017 Star Wars wave! A short while after we get the pictures of the winter wave… the names of the summer sets emerge! Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Ring sounds good! Would probably get that. Isn't the fighter tank what was labeled as "Hovertank" on brickset? 12 minutes ago, RetroInferno said: Duel on Naboo has 3 named Jedis included for 25$! You mean 3 named characters. Darth Maul is not a Jedi :) Quote
Richpepperell Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I see that tonight the new A-wing is back on S@H in the UK, labelled coming soon on 16th Dec. none of the other new sets though. A-wing pilot promotion is live too. Quote
