If LEGO can pump out more RO sets on the same kind of quality as Krennic's shuttle, then I'll have them. I don't even see the point in getting a Quadjumper, there's much better ideas for sets out there with Rebels and Rogue One out now.

I'm actually pretty disappointed with it. Kind of looks like a microfighter of something more interesting, I really couldn't see it in-universe. Then again I am probably a bit spoiled with the quality of most battlepack set pieces these past few years.

Loving the rebel pack though. Speeder is a lil stubby but the machine gun nest is awesome.

Definitely has some useful pieces though, so that's a bonus. I don't think I ever keep the battlepack builds built. It's definitely a better build than some previous BP builds though.

Could you do a review of the phantom?

Thanks for the pictures, KlodsBrik. Great to finally see this wave "in the flesh" so to speak. Can't wait to see Thrawn out of the box. I just wish Scariff had a *little* bit of water (maybe some trans blue 1x4 plates?) - the beach scenes of R1 look eye positively popping.  

Oh yeah, and I also wish Christmas hadn't obliterated my wallet!

It does not have to make sense to us because we don't know the decision factor that led up to making the Quadjumper in the first place. It had very little screentime -- and if that's the only factor then it had more screentime than the FO Snowspeeder -- so anything will make sense if you look at it that way. As for the minifigures, Rey, Finn and BB-8 ran towards it in the movie so they are the only characters that register in my mind that could be included. Maybe adding an FO Stormtrooper is just a bonus... and they can change the minifigs line up at the last minute before production.

I knew it! I predicted the yellow technic piece at the back of the Phantom fired the missiles.

But yeah, MandRproductions was right about the part that sticks out from the side of the reactor shaft. It catapults Obi-Wan. I thought it was a lightsaber catapult.

To be fair Lego didn't know that it would be pretty much completely cut from the final movie.  The sets came out months before the movie.

After seeing a leaked video from rogue 1 we DESPERATELY need more rebel fleet troopers!

All 2017 sets now available online from Toysrus in the UK and in my local store (Exeter).

After seeing Rogue One last night, I'm even more bemused by some of the summer sets - SO many possibilities for sets! The quad jumper is a total wasted slot for me.

Also I saw the Y wing and the microfighters at my local bookstore. Weird cos they're supposed to be released on Jan 1 where I live.

There are reports on reddit of the y-wing, battle packs, and I believe Scarrif, showing up in Australian TRUs and Big Ws, if anyone's interested. Nice to get the sets on time for once

The way the laser gates open is pretty sweet, but they should have used a solid panel with a dropdown feature. Would've been more accurate.

The new sets are in TRU and Toymaster stores in the UK now. But still not on S@H ?

Ive seen the Yoda's interceptor and the new Phantom on shelves here in the netherlands, perhaps the BPs as well, but i dont pay close attention to those (as in, i think i saw the rebel speeder bike, but it didnt occur to me that it was new)

 

Ill probably get one of the imperial walker BPs to add to my imperial ground forces, and perhaps Yoda's interceptor (on sale though)

someone buy and review the new Phantom with Thrawn!

FYI The builds in the battlepacks are nowhere to be seen in Rogue One - but I guess that's not the point of Battlepacks...

builds in the battlepacks are rarely based on something seen in media.

Let's hope you are right on your statement that they can change the minifig line up at the last minute, because I look forward to the Quadjumper, but I won't buy it with that minifig line up. 

Even if I'm yet to see R1, but what I've heard so far, I can take the change to agree

So, yep, the sets are out in the UK... but no sign of the Phantom. It seems to be nowhere other than on the Smyths website. They're really trying to keep this at the £40 price point.
