Ugh, so the Snowspeeder rumour is true. I just hope it won't have some super-detailed exclusive minifig that'll tempt me into buying it. Odds are it will, though.

Ugh is right. With the Death Star rehash and now the UCS Snowspeeder the lack of creativity of the recent UCS series is really disappointing in my opinion.

I typically don't mind rehashes. I just don't really care for UCS sets that are oversized, I prefer sets that a proper minifig scale such as the Slave I, or even the Ewok Village and Sandcrawler. Those are the sets I feel like you get your money's worth in both parts and figures. Then we get over-sized sets like the X-Wing, Jedi Starfighteer, Tie Fighter and now the Snowspeeder which come with one exclusive figure if any rather than a few in the other sets. I personally think that this UCS spot is more of a waste than 75098. If the Millenium Falcon rumors are true, I suppose that would make up for it and save me a bit of money this year. I just hope in the future we see more creative new places explored like Bespin or Geonosis as the next big UCS sets.

Considering that 10129 was released in 2003, you'd hope that a new Snowspeeder would be a totally new design!  With a retail of around £180 it should be impressive - and in the 1600-1900 part range.  As much as I like the old version, it does look incredibly dated but that's due to the limited range of elements available at the time.  I'm optimistically hoping for something akin to the quality of the Slave 1; that would go a long way to making up for the last two 'UCS' offerings which I can't must any enthusiasm for  

Snowspeeder.... its a pass for me... I was hoping for something relevant like CC or so... well, we will see... maybe the winter wave will bring more satisfaction

Bring on that UCS snowspeeder  hopefully it is well done.

People seem surprised with an April release, but I don't see why. It could very well be April VIP release and general release for 4th May. 

It seems odd to me the Lego would release a UCS snowspeeder this year being the 40th Anniversary of A New Hope. Why don't they hold off and release it in 3 years time for the ESD 40th? But then again, lego does seem to do rather odd things at times....

I will save my hard-earned for the Falcon.

+1. THIS. Good minifigures + Displayable minifig-scale things = WIN. Of course it has to be impressive (Assault on Hoth :P) but that R2 in the 2013 X-Wing was atrocious.

Considering 10188 was released in 2008 you'd hope that there would be some significant changes in the overall look!

Really not interested in an UCS Snowspeeder.  Guess it's a good thing because I'll be picking up the POTC ship and really didn't need something else to take my money up.

I really like anything Hoth so this looks like a good pick up for me. A price tag under £200.00 sounds good to me and is a lot better than the recent high prices we've been seeing in other UCS sets.

I personally am not excited for the Snowspeder since I already own 2 of them. Was really hoping for the Falcon rumor to be true. Hopefully this trend of seeing TLJ minifigs early continues!

There was never a Falcon rumour; merely wishlisting and speculation.

Just because we're getting a UCS Snowspeeder doesn't defeat the possibility of there still being a UCS Falcon.

Because nowadays we generally get 2 UCS sets per year.

• 2016 = Assault on Hoth and Death Star
• 2015 = Slave I and TIE Fighter
• 2014 = Sandcrawler
• 2013 = Ewok Village and X-wing
• 2012 = R2-D2 and B-wing
• 2011 = Super Star Destroyer
• 2010 = Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter and Imperial Shuttle

In regards to the Republic Tank, the new model is significantly smaller then the original Lego model.

The new model appears to be 21 studs long and 14 wide whereas the original is 29 studs long and 26 wide.

In this case, the downsizing doesn't bother me. I think it's more in scale. Also glad to see it's a Battlefront 2-themed set

Exactly. And the "rumour" was we would see both this year with the Snowspeeder first so nothing has changed.

I am not interested with the scale of the tank. For all we know most people will buy the set just for Aayla. Also, the Republic Tank is not memorable vehicle (neither significant) in my opinion so I am glad that it is downsized. If someone is interested to make an army of clones with tanks then this version will be cheaper due to smaller scale. That's how I see it... So it's all good IMHO.

I'm with you on that! This makes perfect sense to me.

I'm really pumped for the new UCS Snowspeeder. It really confuses why people always complain at every new set TLG releases, just cause a set is a rehash doesn't make it instantly a demoniacal cash grab as most of them are major improvements. Hope we have pictures soon.

True minifig scale would be 23 studs long, so the new one is much more accurate.
