Sir Gareth Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 (edited) For what it's worth, a simple google-search reveals that Thrawn is actually accurate... at least to the concept art: Edited December 6, 2016 by Sir Gareth Quote
BigGuy4U Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Wasn't a problem with the lot of Rebels Imperial minifigs that they had inaccurate bars on the concept art which the minifigs were based off of? Quote
Robianco Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 We can't blame the Lego designers for that. The Lego designers have yet again done a great job of designing a figure from the concept art which turns out to be incorrect at time of release. Quote

The only problem is that was a ship, not a figure, so the inaccuracy was way more noticeable. Quote

Yeah... but I think the Black Series Titanium models actually had it at white so we were actually much closer here in Legoville. That concept art clearly details the insignia 'Rank badge and cylinders are same as 'IMPERIAL ADMIRAL KASSIUS KONSTANTINE'. So the figure we have is Admiral Thrawn rather than Grand Admiral Thrawn. I do not blame Lego for the mistake if the concept art was clearly wrong. It is however very, very disappointing :( Such a wasted opportunity as we will be unlikely to get another correct version. It is weird how some minifigs are incredibly detailed and accurate while others - not-so-much! I do wonder if the reason we do not get arm printing or dual molded LSW minifigs is because Disney takes a hefty chunk for the licence. Compared to the Lego Batman Movie sets where perhaps Lego gets a much bigger chunk of the final revenue. Who knows! Quote
bootz Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 It'd be such a shame for your other minifigs to call him Admiral Thrawn instead of Grand Admiral... I'm just happy were getting a Thrawn figure in a cheap set, I'm not concerned with how accurate his rank insignia is, and I'm certain that my other minifigs won't care either. As for complaints about the A-wing not looking right, the beauty of Lego is that you can customize the sets as you see fit. I recently bought the 6207 A-wing and modified it as I was building it. Now it's more in line with my 2 newer official A-wings and my custom A-wing. I'll undoubtedly do the same with both of the new ones, and I don't view it as an insult that I'd have to mod it to be happy with it. Quote

I'm hoping lego will release him in another set with his grand admiral insignia. But his face is really accurate and well done! Quote
Gregory Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 It's nice to get Thrawn one way or another. Dave Filoni, probably didn't know whether or not Thrawn would have a title of grand admiral title during the rebels timeline., not until Timothy Zahn confirmed that he is writing new Thrawn novel. At least now, one could safely argue that for the first time we are getting a star wars minifigure that is solely based on a book, as new Thrawn novel is going to be set prior to the events of 3rd Rebels season and will tell a story of Thrawn receiving his infamous title. fatsomania Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 I am concerned about the US price of Desert Skiff Escape. Based on what I've looked at, the US prices are usually equal to or greater than the UK prices. Since it's £30 in the UK, I wonder if it will be $30 in the US? It doesn't seem right to me though, considering the version released four years ago had four minifigures, but it had 64 fewer pieces. What do you think? Will it be $30 or $25? Quote

I think the reason they don't do figures so detailed in SW is because SW is a long running theme, and they don't want to exploit minifigure designs completely, or else they'd have nothing left. Whereas for Super Heroes, we may never see some of the figures again, hence there is more detail. Quote

What do you mean equal to or greater? 30$ isn't equal to 30£. 30$ is barely 24£...so even if the numeric value is equal if that's what you mean, the US pricing is still cheaper. bountybossk Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Just watched the official Chinese trailer for RO. Makes we wonder if they'll release a Imperial Cargo Transport (black one, four wings) in the future. The craft seems to have quite a big role in the story. It would make a great set. Quote

That shuttle (which most people believed would be the big set in the first wave before Krennic's was spoiled) and the AT-ACT are extremely obvious candidates for the summer 2017 wave - there's usually 3-4 100$+ sets each summer, so plenty of space, and shuttles and walkers are usually popular. So far we have no information about Rogue One sets next summer - might be because the film is not yet out? Quote
