Nit picky, but I'm disappointed we're not getting this guy's helmet in the rebel battleback. The Hoth trooper hat and goggles doesn't look very fitting at all imo. I like the other new helmet though.

The hoth-style helmets have shown up in trailers so are accurate to the rebels in the movie. I do like that endor-style helmet though too.

As of right now this will be all the Rogue One sets that we're getting. None planned for the future. VIII is next and all the other ones already listed.

On a side note the Rogue One sets are already showing up on shelves in some countries.

Do you know something or an opinion?

We've seen the list of sets to come.

There are still several unknowns in that list: 75166 & 75167 (battle packs), 75176 & 75177, and 75179 Rebel Hanger (which could easily be the Yavin hanger from Rogue One/A New Hope).

The more I see the Duel on Naboo set, the more I'm growing to it. Sure, it could use another curved wall piece, but you can always add those pieces from your own collection to expand on it. It's actually pretty great for a $25 price point.

TheRacker, at one point we probably will. After all, we are getting two quite obscure sets from the Force Awakens for the summer wave, despite not having a single TFA set in the fall and winter waves. I guess same thing is going to happen with the Rogue One. We'll get more sets eventually.

I think Rogue One will be different to the full Star Wars Trilogy sets (or trilogy of trilogies if you will) in that it's a side story and once we've had the two waves of these we're approaching Episode VIII territory... and that will then be the focus of things. They have so much to draw from with The OT, PT, ST and Rebels (whether they do any new Freemakers is unknown)... we then will have the Han Solo movie... I can't see the spinoffs having too many legacy releases further down the line.

I think we'll see Rogue One sets for years to come, just nowhere near the level we are seeing now (which makes sense that we're getting an onslaught of them now, they DO have a movie to promote after all) . Overall Star Wars is timeless, no matter what the source material is. I have a feeling these spin-off movies are going to, hopefully, be just as timeless. I mean, it's ALL part of the cannon. Heck, we're still getting sets from a movie that is about to turn 40 years old, even if they are mostly remakes at this point (or remakes of a remake of a remake in some cases). So I think going forward we will probably see a random re-make of a RO ship or a never before made RO set here and there once every few years. After all, every few years we get a new generation of kids who get exposed to LEGO and Star Wars for the first time. In 10 years those kids will be watching RO for the first time and might want a LEGO U-Wing of their own.

Want to see how timeless these spin-offs of the "main saga" are when making LEGO sets? Look no further than last year's random Anakin Skywalker's Custom Jedi Starfighter, based off the Clone Wars shorts from 2003! I don't think anyone was asking for that ship, or expecting any sets to ever be made based off those shorts, but LEGO must have had a spare slot to fill and dug deep into the cannon to try and offer us something new. So if they can pull material for sets from that far back and from something a lot of people might have even forgotten about, I think these future spin-offs have a fair shot at sets long after the movie has premiered.

So going forward I think RO sets will still make an appearance, it'll just be pretty rare.

The surprising thing about the custom starfighter is that it is from a short show that is not canon.

Also, not long ago we thought that we won't see another Clone Wars set, yet here we are (75168) with Yoda's starfighter. Not to speak of (75087) Anakin's starfighter that was released two years ago, and was based on Star Wars: Clone Wars (short 2D animated show, that not many remember), was released over a decade prior to the set release.

So is last year's Shadow Troopers battlepack. I don't think LEGO cares much about what's considered canon and what isn't.

Rogue one sets will likely be released as long as people remember the film favorably, and given we're still getting prequel stuff form movies many despise, that's likely to be a while

Yes! I love the set! Having started collecting LEGO only a couple of years ago, it's a great set for me. I don't have Qui-Gon yet.

Anyone know what the pink discs under the clear dome bubble beneath the catwalk is supposed to represent?

Why does everyone talk about cannon/canon?   Is that some American-ism?

When Disney studios purchased Lucasartfilm, they essentially canceled all the books, tv shows, comic, movies.. etc. As of moment of purchase in May of 2012, only original six episodes and (2008-2014) Star Wars The Clone Wars were left canon. Now they are creating a single timeline using books, comics, new movies, and tv shows. Quite frequently they are cherry picking some characters, vehicles, locations, concepts...etc. from the expanded universe, that is now considered Legends. It is just make sense that a lot of Lego sets at the moment are not considered canon anymore, as it will never be or just have yet to be introduced into the canon timeline.  For example, the entire line of sets based on the Old Republic is not canon, as The Old Republic is not part of the Disney "canon" timeline.

Talk about the rumors of sets coming out in 2017.

Talk about the sets that are coming out in 2017.

Do not give us your personal opinions; they are just that, yours.

Do not ask questions that have nothing to do with the new 2017 sets that are rumored to be released.

Do not post wish lists of what you really hope to see. Everyone has their own wish list.

Do not ask when things are coming out because "you don't have time to read the thread."

Do not complain about prices.  No matter what you think is bad, someone else has it worse!

It makes me angry how stupid this is. You dont want us giving opinions, fine, but this is a megablocking dumb reason for it. We really do need a separate opinions and discussion thread (several people are insisting that there is one, although I cant find any evidence that that's true), instead of only banning negative opinions on this one, because at this point it just looks like you're actively trying to create a circlejerk.

Can you please clarify "opinions"? Are we not to say our opinions of sets? Or not speak about our opinions of other people's opinions? Cause it seems like we are less encouraged to speak our minds on the sets and people going off-topic to rant about opinions is encouraged. I'm not sure how conversation can flow without relevant opinions.

People are clearly on here to discuss the sets. It is a forum.

I think there's certainly an argument to be made for the idea that opinions and discussion are cluttering up this thread and making it hard for people to find actual information (although, not the argument the mods are making...). Personally I think the issue is more that we dont have anywhere else to put that discussion, and while having two separate threads for the same thing would be a bit messy, it would still be less messy than what we have here. Actually updating the first post to reflect current information would be an even better alternative, but clearly that's not going to happen
