BigGuy4U Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 If we're not allowed to talk about our opinions of sets, what is there to talk about? It's going to be a while before we start getting information on more new sets. Quote

wesker Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 The First Order battlepack sounds alright. More Stormtroopers are always welcome but I don't have much need for anymore Flametroopers or officers. The Bounty Hunter battlepack sounds awesome though. Great way to get Dengar and IG-88 in a cheap set and hopefully Zuckuss and 4-LOM to round off the ESB Bounty Hunters. Hopefully its successful enough to be followed up with more Bounty Hunter packs from the prequels and Force Awakens down the road. Bit disapointed there aren't any new figures in the Quadjumper. It would've been nice to get a couple more of Jakku's residents - especially ones like Sarco Plank or Constable Zuvio who wouldn't require new molds. Looking forward to the Rathtar set though. Hopefully Bala-Tik is one of the two gang figures. Don't care for the Freemaker stuff, but since Palpatine is supposedly coming in two sets I hope at least one of the figures will be based of his other ROTS costumes. Either the Senate Duel version or the red one when he created the Empire. The Republic Fighter Tank sounds interesting. I'm wondering if its a remake of the Battlefront one that we got as a Clone Wars set several years ago? Glad we're finally getting a movie version of Aayla Secura and hopefully Commander Bly as well. Great to see we're also getting an updated Jedi Starfighter from AOTC. That one has been long overdue for a remake. Just a shame we're getting Kid Boba again instead of Taun We or Lama Su. Quote
Magmafrost Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 (edited) This next wave looks a lot better. Except the freemaker stuff (unless it ends up looking good, but what are the chances of that?), everything looks pretty exciting. Only two remakes, and of things we havent seen in a long time. The Delta-7 with hyperdrive booster ring that we've needed for so long, so excited for that. Not to mention the hope it gives for a new Jango's Slave 1. My only concern, and this applies to the quadjumper too, is the possibility that lego might not have given them enough pieces to do them justice, but considering this should be a wave of fairly large sets, it should be fine. Honestly I cant see the Rathtar set being all that great, but if it comes with a rathtar, well, lets be honest, that's what we're buying it for. Who cares about the rest. FishW Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Wow those sets! 10/10 I wonder what the bounty hunter battlepack will have. Vader's Transformation sounds awesome so does Rathtar escape. To be honest they all sound great! I better go out and get some extra cash because between these sets and the Batman Movie I'm going to be broke! Super excited! Quote

Lol this just made my day because I had been following the conversation and agreeing with you too Anyways, well Dengar being in a cheap set really pisses me off because I just coughed up $40 to get that dumb Eclipse Fighter for him.... But ya 4LOM has been a long time coming. And I'm really hoping that Bossk will come in it because I need him for my Battlefront collection. The First Order Battlepack sounds good, I wanted Flame Troopers but they were too expensive so I'll have to pick up a few of that Battle Pack. But we all know that the best set in this wave is the Vader Transformation with Palpy and Vader in a cheap set! Rathtar set sounds intriguing too, since it'll be a lot cheaper than the Falcon I might pick it up for Han then. Perhaps Commander Bly will come in his first LEGO set with Aayla Secura? But I'm going to be so broke with all these sets this year.... LBM, Marvel, DC, Minecraft, and now these incredible Star Wars sets Plus I still have to get the Disney Castle and Episode VIII will be right after these sets. ChiefPie Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Oh my gosh! I hope those sets are true! I will get the jedi starfighter, republic fighter tank, that bounty hunter battle sounds cool but I'm taking the info with a grain of salt. First order pack sounds great. I wonder if the mon calamari in the free maker set will be different or may be ackbar. Guavian death gang I will pick up if it is good and has a rathtar. Quote
benderisgreat Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 (edited) So summer wave just got interesting! FO battlepack is a welcome addition, I just hope it's better than 2016 one! Bounty hunters battlepack is another level of awesomeness: hope that these will be named and not generic bounty hunters. Republic tank sounds great and it might be Clone Wars set? Ayala Sekura and Clones? Sign me up! Vader Transformation is instant buy for cheap set with Vader( even though I have 2 latest versions of Vader) , no matter what build is. Freemaker set? Why ? Did anyone ask for more Freemakers sets? It seems Lego is after easy money and is capitalizing on SW brand. I wish they made more Rebels sets instead! We still don't have S3 Ezra, Maul and Zeb ( the only Ghost crew member who only appeared in 1 set!). Ep2 Jedi Starfighter sounds cool, although it's definitely not for me. Rathtar set sounds interesting, but it's to early to make decisions before pictures. Quadjumper is a "maybe" for me. Depends on price and if Finn and Rey are any different. Overall it's a solid wave , except for Freemakers sets. Edited December 13, 2016 by benderisgreat Quote

I agree that we should be getting more rebels sets instead of freemaker sets, however I don't mind them if they bring a character we all have been wanting in lego form. But the only thing that stands out to me with one of the freemaker sets is that it has a mon calamari. I'm assuming it's ackbar but it would be nice to get another new one. Quote
RetroInferno Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 If they manage to include 4 bounty hunters from ESB without Boba Fett this may be the best ''cheap'' starwars set of all time. Hopefully an Bossk, IG-88, Zuckuss and 4-LOM. Quote

brobert Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Well, the freemaker sets were bound to appear, they made up a new "star wars" series to sell their stuff. Hopefully if they don't get a good profit from the sets they will just cancel it, and as I can see most of us don't really care for this line, it's good to see. As for the other newly revealed sets, I'm not one for battlepacks normally, but the bounty hunters sounds interesting, and so does the EpII jedi fighter, I just hope it doesn't come with Obi again, since I just got this year's set (man that just screams for modding). But then again, if it's really from ep II, it must be Obi's..nevertheless, the ring is a welcome addition, just hope the price doesn't get too high. (Which, again, is being overly optimistic, seeing the prices of the already announced sets - at least in my country) Quote
Borex Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 A bountyhunter bp? Awesome. Since there are 4 figs in a bp i think they'll give us updated IG-88 (with the new eraser head from the batman cmf series), updated bossk (please not a green one again) and 4-lom and Zuckuss. No need for Boba and Dengar because they'll be in other sets of course. I would be dissapointed if they just released some random bounty hunters (unless they are cool aliens) Quote
Robianco Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Dengar would seem like an odd choice as he was only recently in the Freemakers sets. The price of IG-88 from the SSD has always been quite high so having that as an updated figure could be great. Fett is already appearing in another set so if they're going for the original 6 then that leaves us with three options. As mush as I'd really like to see a dual moulded Bossk I would hope they'd fill the other two slots with 4-Lom and Zuckuss. 4-Lom has appeared in an animated short so I'd probably lean towards that as definite one of them. I just can't see Lego giving us them all in one £12 battle pack. If it is the original 6 they're going for it would mean that 5, if not all 6, of them will be on the shelf at the same time in relatively inexpensive sets. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 (edited) Meh,yet again we get another underwhelming wave.We could've easily gotten a AT-ACT and that imperial four winged transport from Rogue One or more sets from Rebels season 3.But instead we get sets based on freemaker and more remakes.Hopefully the Ep.8 sets are more interesting. The only sets that sound remotely interesting (to me atleast) are the Republic Tank and the Rathtar sets. The Tank because I never had a chance to buy it when it came out years ago and I do like it's design, now the Rathtar set because it's a cheaper way to get Old Han. Calanon Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I am quite curious as to whether the clone commander (which I also am hoping to be Bly) is going to be in phase I or phase II armour. I'm going to assume phase I, however if it is phase II, I wonder if they finally put holes in the side of phase II helmets so that attachments can be added...? I'm going to be a realist and say that's not the case but I am quite excited about the possibility. Quote
GeekByKnight Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Bounty Hunter set sounds cool (oh, sorry, that was an opinion) amazed Lego haven't done this sort of character pack before. Quote
Lobot Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Thanks for the info, Stash. I've spent some time updating the details of the winter wave in the first post; I'll finish it once they're available (again) on the Shop at Home website I'll be surprised if the Bounty Hunter battle pack includes any rare minifigures, it wouldn't make financial sense for them to do so! If they ever make 4-LOM or Zuckuss it's likely that they'd be included in a UCS set to optimise their profit margin - for example the last IG-88 was available in 10221 which was £350! Quote
Darth Shadowthrone Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Honestly, although the Bounty Hunter Battlepack sounds amazing I'm 85% sure it'll only come with generic bounty hunters / gangsters. There has never been a battlepack which includes a named figure and I doubt that'll become a trend now. It's far more likely that it includes background characters who could represent any gangster from that race: a random collection inspired from either the Cantina, Jabba's Palace/Sailbarge or even Freemakers? (from what I've heard it seems like Grabella the Hutt's entourage are quite prominent) In that case I expect figures like another generic Duros/Gran/Gotal from the Cantina, Gommorean Guard or another Weequay guard, maybe one of Grabella's Itkonian henchman, or a Toydarian and whatever else Lego can think of. Here's hoping it has some new moulds! Quote

Mark1006 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Bounty Hunter Battlepack? Surely not. I thought the whole point was army building so that's a weird move. First Order is also a little strange since there's one on the market right now but maybe there'll be a twist to this one that fits into Episode VIII? Verrry excited for the Fighter Tank and Jedi star fighter with hyper-ring. We haven't seen Obi's Delta 7 at regular set scale in what, 15 years? And the Ayala minifig along with a Clone Commander will be excellent. Nice to see they're refusing to let go of the Clone Wars, it was pretty much the only star wars we got for a 6 year period and imo there's still stuff to be explored and redone set wise. Quote
