As much as we would like a UCS Falcon I think that the current system Falcon will be retired and we will get another system Falcon but I hope we get a UCS Falcon. 

On an unrelated note I really hope we get a cheap set that comes with OT Leia due to Carrie Fishers pasing and the fact that we never get leia in cheap sets

I'm sorry if this has been answered before but when do the new wave of Rogue One sets release in the US? I see the UK and other European countries has already received them.

I agree, I still need a Leia, and we haven't had her in a relatively cheap set for years now.

Really? We're discussing UCS sets and the 2011 MF cost cheaper than that :)

From what I can see, the clone from the tank doesn't have that yellow glow that indicates a new figure, and neither does Secura, however the droid does. This might be a mix up, but in Vader's transformation you  can clearly see a yellow glow on the figure on the right (presumably crispy Anakin), so I'm still hoping a new figure for Aalya, but  we might get the clone wars version of her. I'm fine with another cloner wars era trooper though. I love 'em.

I thought they stopped doing that? The last few sets I opened didn't have that yellow glow even for obviously new figures.

I couldn't agree more. Its depressing knowing so many potential OT/PT/CW/Rebels sets are being wasted in favour of this rubbish - especially when the number of sets are limited as it is with the new movies coming out each year.

Even worse is that none of the Freemaker/Yoda Chronicles sets ever sell. They're always clogging the shelves even on clearance. Why they keep forcing them out is beyond me.

I'd love to finally see her in a cheap set. Unfortunately it doesn't look like an OT version will be showing up at all next year unless its a UCS set. Very dissapointing. Hopefully an Episode 8 version will at least be included in the first wave of sets next year and not held off until 2018.

I think they're still doing it, at least for this wave. Look at the droid on the left and the burned Anakin in the transformation set.

Maybe we'll get a little set for the 40th aniversery, I really just hope we can get OT leia in a cheap set, even if shes in a possible Tantive IV set id be fine with that

To be fair though it does give some minifigures that we would not have gotten had we not got the The Yoda Chronicle sets like the Ithorian and RA-7 protocol droid.

Admittedly, some of the figs are ok, like Dengar, but for the most part, the Freemaker crap sucks. Even the little kids who watch the show probably don't pick it up when they see a set next to it with Boba Fett or Darth Vader in. And like Wesker said, they just clog up the shelves, and they take up parts of the already limited waves thanks to the new movie sets. The Freemaker sets can't be doing too well, hopefully LEGO have realised that and will stop releasing them. We could be having Rebels sets instead of this crap, or more CW stuff.

Let me play devil's advocate for a second here - TLG most likely have early sales data for the first two Freemaker sets, and they know how many people watch the show. If they decide to release two more, the first two can't have done that badly, or at least the promotion for the show is worth it. Also, the Rogue One sets are from a movie that is completely unsuitable for kids, so it might make sense for them to diversify a bit and release stuff that is targeted directly at children.

I hate the fact that those things keep more Rogue One stuff from getting released, definitely - but TLG have people working full time on these things. Their opinions are probably worth more than those of fans.

TLG doesn't have any clue how to run a successful business, obviously. Only members of this forum know what's best for TLG and how they should operate their business.

I would disagree that Rogue One is "completely unsuitable for kids" as although the ending could arguably be quite bleak and traumatic it still teaches them important messages about

 

loss and sacrifice [/spoiler]

Besides, it had loads of cool battle and had way more new ship designs than Force Awakens, and the sets themselves have all been pretty solid. I can't see why Lego would think kids wouldn't want Rogue One sets. Hell, I had a younger brother who got the tank set way before he saw the film and still really enjoyed it.

I don't know if Rogue One is completely kid inappropriate. It is no more violent than Revenge of the Sith, The Avengers and other MCU films, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, The Dark Knight, the Lone Ranger, TMNT, Bionicle in 2006/2007... I think I get my point across.

Although it I agree that it is a pity when you think about it that the Freemaker sets are taking up slots that could have been used to give us things from the actual canon. I still wish we could get a few vehicles from the PT/OT/ST/CW/Rebels stuff too that have yet to show up as real sets. Heck technically the Star Speeder 1000 from Star Tours is canon thanks to the Force Awakens and I have been dying to get my hands on one of those in Lego for years!
