I don't see why they would make it built into the set. It's called "rathtar escape" so I'd assume there'd have to an element of action and chase in the diorama. The scene in the film had heroes running away from creatures in pursuit of them so I don't understand where the idea that they are stuck stationary on a wall is coming from. I know LEGO have disappointed in the past but this is like asking if an X-wing set can lock the S-foils in attack position, or if you can remove Darth Vader from the operating table in the Darth Vader transformation set. It's also always important to mention that sets like these are marketed towards children and children want to be able to play out scenes and have characters and creatures to do this with, so from a marketing and playability stand point why would LEGO ever do this? It's such a pointless idea. Something much more interesting and relevant to talk about would be whether or not they are brick built and how many of them there are. I am also interested in what exactly the layout of the build is, is it modular? A grid like the corridors of the Ervana? A one sided wall with no floor like takodana? The gangmembers are the same (or at least from what you can see) and as for the officer: Couldn't figure out his name, but he looked like an imperial officer fig (nothing special) so I can't say what or who this should represent. It resembles it a bit and was kind of weird how it wasn't in the movie at all, but it's not a rathtar. It's an immovable disc with a tentacle action feature, not a giant ball-creature that rolls around eating people, yet people are citing it as if it is supposed to be an actual rathtar and is the blueprint for any rathtar model. It's not a rathtar. Regarding the North American release of the winter wave in march, (correct me if I'm wrong here), but isn't this exactly the same thing that happened in early 2014 when the sets were delayed? Back then it was because of the release of the LEGO Movie that TLG decided to have TLM sets the main attraction of the winter wave so they pushed one of their most popular product releases back in the U.S. so that it wouldn't take any prominence away from it. So obviously this year the same thing is happening because of the LEGO Batman movie and respective sets. It's not a production error, they just want to people to buy LEGO Batman movie sets instead of STAR WARS to promote the film. Another question: is the rumour that there will be two rogue one summer sets substantial enough yet? It hasn't been mentioned for a while and isn't featured in recent lists. I remember users wishlisting for a cargo shuttle and AT-ACT but are there even spaces for these sets? Edited January 14, 2017 by LordLEGOtube Additional point Quote

I'd gladly take both. TLG give me aliens and I will get a second job with the income going directly into your coffers if you would just give us more molds. Quote
elederberg Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Not sure if anyone saw this but looks like we are getting a UCS Snowspeeder for May 4th instead of a UCS Millennium Falcon. Kinda surprising considering that the falcon is going to be much more expensive and a bigger deal the the Snowspeeder especially since its not like they are waiting to release on the same month as A New Hope came out for the 40th anniversary since it came out in May. If get the falcon maybe we will get it in October like the Death Star this year. http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-star-wars-ucs-snowspeeder-75144-rumored-for-may-the-4th/ Quote
RetroInferno Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Interesting, not too long ago it was discarded from Brickset and now some confirmation... I thought we were rid of this thing! Quote

It's been spotted in Romania, very limited supply at the moment so it's really expensive online right now. Because of the modular stand and plaque piece I expect it will be announced in some way (maybe not) and then it'll be more available elsewhere, maybe similar to what happened with the a wing pilot or first order general Edited January 14, 2017 by atlas Quote
StarWars8Spoiler Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Interesting if we do get a UCS Snowspeeder on May 4. Why would Brickset delete that entry? Quote

Because whenever CM4Sci doubts something exits, suddenly it doesn't. One of the editors on Brickset has the habit of posting up any and all information from any source that has been credible in the past, regardless if the information provided is correct. This includes adding the Cars and PotC themes in and out of the 2017 themes during when that 4chan leak rose and fell months ago, and the fire vehicle that's been promised for Technic for the past 3 (+?) years. If the Snowspeeder does exist, we'll find out eventually. We have to stray away from the idea that Brickset is the end-all accurate database for early info. Funny that people think that too, as most info comes from either here or Reddit. Edited January 14, 2017 by Penkid11 Quote

I thought we were rid of this thing! I don't understand why everyone is so against this set... It's an OT UCS that was in desperate need of an update (14 years ago). If TLG sells this set, I'll buy it for sure. The article implies that the MF might be held off until the second half of the year, which would coincide with Episode VIII. With several of the older UCS sets retiring, I don't see why this wouldn't be the case. This could be a really good year... Edited January 14, 2017 by thorin Quote
will Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Agreed. I'll happily buy a snow speeder. As an OT fan, I've not really picked up any sets in the last couple of years apart from the sandcrawler, so this and hopefully a falcon will make me very happy! Quote
StarWars8Spoiler Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) *snip* Much higher res pics of the two summer set's we've already seen. Very beautiful stuff. Edited January 14, 2017 by Lobot : Link to new 2017 sets removed Quote

Thanks - Vader's Transformation looks excellent and if the pricing quoted (€35) is correct, that falls nicely into my initial prediction of £25-30 It's interesting news about the UCS Snowspeeder, after Brickset had 'downgraded' their details for it I was starting to think that it wasn't going to happen. The original version is looking really dated and, if TLG could create something on a par with the UCS Slave 1, it would be a day one purchase for me! I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much about the potential for a UCS Falcon as well, but it would make sense for TLG to link that with the release of Episode VIII or, just possibly, the 40th Anniversary of Episode IV (25th May). atlas Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I doubt the astromech is for may4, do those normally leak out into shops 4-5 months early? The stand build thingy is puzzling though. Maybe it's not supposed to be a promo thing but a normal product, only with an extra build other than the figure so they avoid the has bro legal problem thing with figures Quote

Deathstroke77 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I'm guessing that this Vader set consists of Vader, Burnt Anakin and Palpatine, figure-wise. Vader, obviously, is there, Burned Anakin is on the other side of the table, and, not only would it fit since he's there in the movie, obviously, Palpatine's gold-hilted lightsaber is also there on the lightsaber rack on the right of Vader. thorin Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) jangbricks just posted his Phantom 2 review on YouTube about 20 min ago. I always like his reviews... High quality video. Although sometimes I don't agree with his opinions. ;-) He does a really great comparison shot of the old to the new Phantom, and also shows how the landing gear works, including how it snaps into The Ghost. Not sure if I am allowed to link it. Edited January 14, 2017 by thorin Quote
