VaderFan2187 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 @legocharles thanks for info, but I'm pretty sure that's fake. LEGO never puts "BUILDING BLOCKS SERIES" on their boxes, they put "Building Toy" Quote
Jockos Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 That is one cute non-official looking BB8 Quote
Deathstroke77 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Yeah, it's a fake, the font is all wrong, too, and it says 'Space Battle' on the little information sticker that comes with it. Quote

Procrastinathan Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 (edited) The BB-8 picture also strongly resembles this MOC from YouTube - I think it's the same one. EDIT: I posted at the same time as lomis, looks like he found the culprit Edited February 9, 2017 by Procrastinathan Quote

I bet it's Chinese LEGO that ripped off this MOC. Edited February 9, 2017 by VaderFan2187 EDIT: Oh my gosh, 3 people posted at once. Sorry, mods can remove this post if they feel it is necessary. will Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Looks a lot like Anio's version (and poorly photoshopped!). I've been looking at the scout trooper and speeder bike again. There's a flick-fire missile at the front, but the image in the bottom right looks as though you hold it like a gun and fire it that way. Quote
ChiefPie Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 People have found some of the winter sets at Toys R Us in the US. Quote

Artanis I Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 "Space Battle" is knock-off for "Star Wars" (and in the SW font). Not that anyone still needs convincing, but further proof that that is not an official set is the set number. Too bad for TLG if they are releasing a BB-8, the KOs are already out. Unless theirs has amazing features, sales will be greatly affected. Quote

Actually the winter wave is supposed to be out in March. Mandr productions on youtube has a video with some of them and a clip of him in a toys r us. He also mentions people finding them there and posting on Instagram. The boxes are also the North American version since it has the piece count on the box. Quote
jhaelego Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Do you guys think TLJ sets will sport their own movie specific box art, or the 40th anniversary box art seen on other toys for this year? Quote

There is no 40th Anniversary Box Art. The box art for 2017 features the Death Trooper, celebrating Rogue One's release. The Last Jedi sets will most likely have new box art, even if they come out in September or October. Quote
jhaelego Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 @GryffindorResistance I guess it's not elaborate box art, but it def. has the 40th anniversary. I feel like we could potentially get something like that for the lego sets this year. Also, the winter sets came out last year in most of the world. Quote
VaderFan2187 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 @jhaelego but none of the LEGO sets so far have that logo. If it was to appear, it would've appeared in the winter sets too. Quote

ChiefPie Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Most likely if we get a ANH UCS and polybag it may have the 40th logo. Quote

It's likely going to be movie-specific, as evidenced by the box art introduced on Force Friday for the past 2 years. The only way we'll see 40th Anniversary box art is if it's for a set specifically made to commemorate it. Like the Falcon, perhaps... Quote

LordLEGOtube Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 UCS bb8 seems really unlikely, it won't have any poseability that wouldn't conflict with the design or move ability of the set which would be almost impossible to do. The original post that sparked this said: On 07/02/2017 at 7:55 PM, Delta Customs said: Just because he said it's not a playset doesn't automatically make it a vehicle. Think outside the box a bit. Or should I say, sphere. First of all, a UCS BB8 would not be 'outside the box' since there was a UCS R2-D2 in 2012. It's not going to be something new or original. 'Outside the sphere' cannot be a reference to BB8, how is BB8 outside of a sphere? He is a sphere! Since it is the 40th anniversary of STAR WARS (the title A New Hope is only 36 years old) this year they will most likely capitalise on this for the UCS sets. A Death Star trench fits both 'outside the box' and 'outside the sphere' since it will be something different and not seen before, and also outside the Death Star. Quote
