Anyone know how often TLG released the little teasers for the Saturn V?

Cuz it'll be a week since the (MF?) box teaser and I hope we'll get something else soon.

The original was plenty detailed as official sets go, but as you yourself suggest, there's a gap between it and MB's. I said a set in the size and price range being discussed here could exceed it in detail, and since you yourself quote MB's as having 7500 pieces and the high end of the part count range being discussed for this set is higher still, obviously it could be more detailed / accurate than 10179 (particularly since the likely usage of that new half-cone element for the cockpit could actually boost accuracy of that aspect of the ship while simultaneously reducing the piece count for that part, freeing up more parts for use elsewhere). I fail to see how it's "impossible" for this one to be more detailed / accurate than 10179 when it's supposed to have two or three thousand more pieces than that one did and cost a couple hundred dollars more.

An $800 Star Wars set with 7,500 pieces is not going to happen, at least not at current pricing models.  The Death Star is 4,016 for $500, which is about 12.5 cents per piece.  You would be lucky to get 7,000 pieces for $800.  That's assuming it even costs that much.  It could be $600 with far fewer pieces.

Possibly (though I wouldn't be so sure), but as I indicated, I was talking about what's possible with a set in the size and price range being discussed in the thread, and that discussion has largely revolved around a set alleged to be that large (or larger, in terms of piece count) and expensive (or more so). I didn't say it would happen; indeed, I've addressed more than once the possibility that a new UCS Millennium Falcon might not be happening at all (though for the record, I do suspect it is, and I'll be disappointed if it's not).

I simply said that if they were truly doing a new UCS Falcon, and if it truly were as large and expensive as many of the posts were suggesting it would be, it would be totally possible for it to surpass 10179 in accuracy and detail while also having an interior and assorted other features, including a slew of minifigures. That's not to say that that is indeed what they're doing; it's just to say that if they are doing a Falcon with 7000+ pieces costing >$699.00, it certainly could have all the features described.

and everyone constantly forgets that the advent calendars are not made for whiny man-children demanding exclusive minifigs etc.

they are made for children to enjoy 24 days of lego prior to christmas. no more. no less.

The old it's a kids toy excuse. Lego is a business that knows his market. For the young of course (because it is a kid's toy), but also for the old. They think in dollars, our dollars, like any other business would do.

I'm not blown away by this years advent as well, but i don't collect tfa. I'm more happy with the new direction of the bp's. The bounty hunter bp is awesome, and the tatooine and jedi bp will hopefully be great too.

So glad we finally get a look at the Old Luke minifig. And it's not even a leak! I'm definitely saving some money for whatever set he ends up being in in 2018. A well-done Ahch-To set would blow the entire Force Friday wave out of the water, IMO.

With Star Wars Lego I have only bought vehicles (excluding a couple of battle packs and a buildable Vader), the Battle on Ahch-To playset is likely to be my first playset, and prior to the announcement of the Wave 1 sets was one of my most anticipated (along with First Order Star Destroyer).

Just focusing on what we saw in the teaser and BTS footage and not going into rumour/spoiler territory, besides the definite figures included of Luke and Rey, could also see Chewie, R2 and some porgs. With a focus on training , there is the Jedi tree and those books, a lot to be excited about.

Is there an Ahch-To set confirmed or is this just people thinking that's where a Luke is likely to be released? There's nothing in the first post.

Let's not start talking about things that are plucked out of the air as if they're coming. This thread is a difficult enough thing to follow as it is.

Here you are Brikkyy13 :-D

Anyway there is a strange white zone.

It seems someone with rubber deleted that zone in post production. Infact if i use paint bucket on that zone with 1% of tolerance i got the second pic.

Usually on a DSLR picture is difficoult to get so much homogeneous color area. So maybe this time LEGO edited it before sharing...?

So the absence of something is itself a proof

Lego are such trolls , I'm sure that they know what they're doing though.

497 pages, wow.

Where did you get this?

Wow, Death Star is only about 300 pages! Obviously that's assuming they are just referring to the page count being 2.56 times bigger, rather than including the larger page size in the 2.56 times calculation.

Wonder how long these teases will continue for, one a week till Force Friday? And thinking about what other similar comparisons they could do. I guess part count is an obvious one, weight, length. Can't see them doing price "Destiny's Bounty costs £109.99, but something more expensive is coming, 5.46 times more expensive!" doesn't have quite the same ring!

For my own sanity - do the mods have a contingency plan for this?

When the Falcon is announced we'll have people who's lego budget is, shall we say 'pocket money', all taking turns to say a set - they couldn't afford under any scenario - is 'overpriced'.

I really don't think we need to read that 5,000 times.

EB is primarily a discussion forum, not a newspaper -- our role is to let all of our members express their thoughts, whether they be the same or different, not to condense everyone's thoughts into summaries. If the discussion strays off topic or breaks our guidelines, we'll deal with it at that point, but no, we have no plans to prevent this sort (many people posting the same reaction) of discussion.

*Snip*

You know I used to think that the orange on the box were just explosions. However when I look at this X-ray of the instructions it makes me believe it is the sky of Bespin and the Dark colors around it are the clouds with the falcon flying away. I also think that could be Cloud City on the upper right corner of the page.

It should be pages count, volume is far greater than 2.56.

It's funny that they have edited the photo, somehow an indirect acknowledge that there was something behind the white paper of the mistery box.

10188 has 264 pages for 3803 pieces. A quick extrapolation for 497 pages, as the build will have at least a similar complexity, would give 7159 pieces.

Probably just burned white in the photo. The easiest way to get ''so much homogeneous color area'' with a DLSR.

496  pages, fair amount more than the death star. Still positive 'it just won't happen'?
