Richpepperell Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 According page 1: 75160 - Rebel Pilot 75161 - Tie Pilot 75162- Rebel Pilot 75163 - Imperial Officer Will be cool to get a couple of different rebel pilots - maybe the one dark flight suit like the U-wing pilot and a traditional orange one. Either way, they'll fit in nicely with OT stuff. Quote
Nokturn Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Before it goes too far, this'd probably be a good time to remind everyone that use of spoiler tags is courteous, but, with the exception of the two weeks following a movie release, it's not required in these rumor topics. Staff will not enforce their use, so, of course, neither should you. These are topics about future products, so you read them at your own risk. Just like to say that I very much appreciate this stance; obviously a thread about leaked/future merchandise is going to be inherently spoiler-ish. Others should recognize that by now. Nobody should be walking on eggshells about the Y-Wings, especially considering they've already appeared in other Rogue One media. Back on topic now, I'm very excited to see a location-based set. I was sort of hoping it'd be something based on this location, but the bunker on Scarif works for me too. I'm hoping the other included minifig is Saw Gerrera, as he seems like a relatively important character. Quote
Sneakguest Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 They haven't been shown in any trailers, suggesting we haven't seen any scenes with them in. Therefore any details bout a set containing it could be a spoiler. Imagine if the Falcon hadn't been in any TFA trailers, but then suddenly we found out there was a Lego set. That would be a spoiler for the film. Thats not really a relevant comparison, its a difference of A Y-wing and THE Falcon in terms of whar kind of story they expose Quote
benderisgreat Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 So based on new info about Battlepacks , it seems like standart blasters will replace studshooters? Imperial Battlepack has longer rifles, so it's safe to assume Rebel Battlepack will use standart blasters as well. Quote

I assume many other people agree with me on this subject. Quote
CM4Sci Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Oh, and the battlepacks use stud shooters. Quote
joeyl19 Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 (edited) Oh, and the battlepacks use stud shooters. Dang it! Right after we got our hopes up! Well anyway thanks for all this information CM4Sci. Edited September 13, 2016 by joeyl19 Quote
benderisgreat Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Oh, and the battlepacks use stud shooters. Didn't you say that imperial Battlepack has longer rifles? But that's probably preliminary images. But studshooters suck! Pretty much everybody agrees with that, yet Lego still uses studshooters! Quote
Nokturn Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I, for one, am glad the Battlepacks are still using stud shooters. I feel like I'm the only one who likes them and think they add incredible play value. As for aesthetic purposes, I still think they look better than some of the weapons we've had before. Does nobody remember the megaphone blasters? Stud shooters are basically a better-looking, actually functioning version of those. And I think that's great. Besides, standard blasters are included in nearly every single other set. It's not like there's a short supply of them. Quote

Yes megaphone pieces were bad too, but they were used when Lego dpwasnt able to make something better for blasters! Studshooters are indeed a new version of megaphone blasters , and that's the problem: studshooters are even worse, since now Lego has blaster molds, but makes awful pieces like that just to add playability . I actually don't mind studshooters as a weapons on a ships or vehicles, for these purposes they are good, but as a blaster for the minifigure, they suck!!! It's got the 4M Bar with stud on the end on the walker, that's what I meant. Oh my bad then, sorry. Quote
Sneakguest Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I feel like the Rogue One sets we know about are priced very fairly (a set the size of Krennic's shuttle for 90 is not something we see often), much unlike TFA where they milked the hype with very steep prices. That being said, the last two location sets we got (Jakku and Takodana) were extremely expensive, so who knows where this might end up. Definitely nice to get more Shore Troopers somewhere, and thank God it's not another X-Wing! Do we have confirmation that there are only 2 battle packs this year? The set numbers definitely make it look like that. Come to think about it, if lego have higher prices for location sets because they think they sell better per piece, why don't they make more? Me for once almost always buys all location sets I can get, they are more fun to play with and you can expose your mini figure set up more visibly and in more variety of ways + it's not like most of the star wars movies and series spend most of the time in space battles. It just hit me when you said that. Very strange actually... Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Ooh, a new Y-Wing. That does sound promising... LEGO has a way better track record with those then they do X-Wings. I trust that the result will be awesome. Quote
joeyl19 Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I don't know about anyone else, but I am really excited for the bunker battle set. Even though it probably doesn't come with Jyn with actual hair, it can't be worse than Takodana. And in the leaked set image, that bunker actually looked pretty cool. Quote
Brikkyy13 Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Any word on the color scheme of the Y-Wing? Is it white and gold as per usual, black and white like the new X-Wing, or something completely new? Quote

joeyl19 Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 That's implying we're even getting a Y-Wing, and if we were I'd say white and gold.. Hmmm… I think in one of the toy promos the Y-Wing was white and gold so I would assume that the LEGO set will be white and gold. Quote

I actually don't mind studshooters as a weapons on a ships or vehicles, for these purposes they are good, but as a blaster for the minifigure, they suck!!! That's your opinion and I respectfully disagree with it. As I said, I think they're great, and that includes their use as handheld minifig blasters. And again, I'd like to reiterate that they're only really included in Battlepacks. It's not like they stopped using the standard blasters altogether. I don't know about anyone else, but I have a ridiculous amount of standard blasters and I very much appreciate the new, far more functional take on the matter. Besides, one has to remember that TLG's target market is hardly ever just AFOLs. I can only imagine what it would've been like to have actual WORKING blasters as a kid. They're powerful enough to knock down minifigs and they're pretty accurate. That's honestly incredible to me and more than enough reason to include them as minifig weapons. Also, I'd like to point out that they've been getting more and more creative with their uses lately. Chewbacca's bowcaster would be one example, and adding more pieces on like in the Galactic Empire Battlepack would be another. Edited September 13, 2016 by Nokturn Quote

I personally didn't mind studshooters that much, because they looks good for some kind of grenade launching weapons. The stud shooters can also looks good and increases play value when integrated well like Deadshot's bazooka in 76053 (Althrough the bazooka is oversized). Quote
makoy Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 (edited) I wonder if the astromech in the iconic ship set is the new imperial r2 unit that was revealed. Before this gets buried... I also want to know if this is entirely new. Edited September 14, 2016 by makoy Quote
CM4Sci Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Before this gets buried... I also want to know if this is entirely new. There's no glow around the figure which usually indicates that it's a new figure, so maybe it's R2 or something. Quote
