LegoMcBoss2004 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) With Cebelicamya making a thread for the hair pieces produced by TLG so why not do one for the heads. Yes I know, there are hundreds upon hundreds but why not it will help people out. Here we go: Yellow Male Both Eyes Clean Shavin' No Face Accessories Wow that is a lot of Lego Heads and that's just the first wave of them. I will keep posting from the Firestar Toys website and once done with those, start on Bricklink and the newer heads that have not been posted on the sites. For instance heads from Summer City sets and so on and so forth, happy building! Edited May 25, 2016 by LegoMcBoss2004 Quote
Actor Builder Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 This will be crazy. Do you plan to index them by things like "Facial Hair" and "Sunglasses" and "Missing an Eye"? That would be super helpful! Quote
LegoMcBoss2004 Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 Yes, I will actually in the morning. I was planning on it, but my computer was over heating and so I hurried to finish, but I will go back and edit it to help out. Quote
Robert8 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Nice idea, but this will be a very hard quest to achieve Quote
MAB Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I'm not really sure what the point is, especially if it is limited to what Firestar currently stocks. You can already do something like this at bricklink, automated via goatleg.com http://goatleg.com/headid.html eg. want to search for fleshie heads with stubble and a scar on the face ... let goatleg make the BL query for you. LegoMcBoss2004 Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) So you don't have to take 5 minutes to find the right head, I'm this case you can scroll down for two seconds and you find the right one.You and anybody that wishes to can use goatleg, nobody's stopping you or telling you otherwise but if some was to use this form of head finding them let them do it. And I'm not limited to Fire star I already said I would move on to other heads the site does not have and Bricklink doesn't always have them either so between the two and upcoming sets I think this is good. LegoMcBoss2004 Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) Now for the second grouping of them: Yellow Male Both Eyes Beard (goatee counts) and(or) Mustache No Face accessories That isn't all of them of course there are plenty other ones that fit the description but this WILL be edited later and so will the first post. AmperZand Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) Nice idea, but this will be a very hard quest to achieve I agree. My first thought was: "That would be great!". My second was: "That's going to be a huge amount of work!" You can already do something like this at bricklink, automated via goatleg.com Oooh. Didn't know about goatleg. Thanks for the tip. Actor Builder Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 (edited) Wow! Goatleg is awesome! I searched for Tan Torsos with Pockets, just as a test, but ti didn't find any. I know they exist, however. Also, just using Bricklink's Catalog Search Function, it shows me 235 Items for Tan Torso, but Goatleg only shows me 111 for Tan Torso... Mid-Post Amendment: Bricklink shows when they have Tan Printing as well, Goatleg is just the base color. That's actually super helpful. But in any case, I will be appreciating this rising index so awesomely being compiled by LegoMcBoss2004! Edited May 26, 2016 by Actor Builder Quote
LegoMcBoss2004 Posted May 26, 2016 Author Posted May 26, 2016 (edited) Okay so if you haven't figured out there will be a new post each day unless something personal happens so yeah( In a few days I will separate the posts within themselves so smiling will go together, scowling will go together so on and so forth), here we go: Yellow Male Both Eyes Stubble No Face Accessories And there you go 3rd wave of them, the next one will come tomorrow! MAB Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 So you don't have to take 5 minutes to find the right head, I'm this case you can scroll down for two seconds and you find the right one. The point about goatleg / bricklink is that it is constantly updated, so you don't need to manually add to lists each time a new head comes out. Also, it will take way longer than two seconds to search through all pictures of all heads, and you would need to find the right post first which will be a similar time to selecting / entering the search term at goatleg (or BL). Then there are errors - for example, you have a stubble one (3rd row, 2nd column) listed as a beard and/or moustache, then repeated in stubble. If he counts as a beard, why aren't the other stubble beards there? Quote
LegoMcBoss2004 Posted May 27, 2016 Author Posted May 27, 2016 Okay if you have a problem with it, why waste your time commenting something. So please, STOP if others wish to use this way of Head Hunting then let them be but don't keep commenting you're just going to say hateful things about it.Oh and with the head on two different posts, I am a Human I make mistakes. It will be edited because of your post. have a nice day! Quote
Hoschiebaer Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 the idea to create a list for all the minfigure heads might be a good idea - but if it doesnt tell me in which set/minfigure the head i like came in/on, the list is pretty pointless for me. i liked the list of minfigure hair to get a short overview over what is available (hairpieces are listet on bricklink first after part then divided in colors) if firestartoys delete their images your lists will be half empty - be aware of that aswell. the problem with bricklink is, that it takes some time till the new heads are in the database. goatleg is pretty damn awesome, didnt know about it till now. LegoMcBoss2004 Posted May 28, 2016 Author Posted May 28, 2016 OK did nobody read the first post? I said I will move on to ones the sites do not have and as for which head comes in which set, that will be added eventually. I'm not the fastest but it won't take a year to finish so please bear with me. If you have an interest in a head you know you could just ask right. Quote
MAB Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Why is saying that there is a more efficient and better way of doing something (that already exists) hateful? Quote
LuxorV Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Please stop this personal discussion, or move it to the PM system. People who open this topic want to learn more about LEGO heads. Let's keep the discussion focused on that. Quote
