Ezeran again feels the dampening effect of... whatever was causing it in the cavern, and spends 2 ether providing illumination with his ruby. Maybe it had something to do with the shiny green patches of what appeared be some sort of mineral on the walls, floor and ceiling. As Ezeran pokes around with his pickaxe more of the green stuff was revealed as pieces of dirt and rock are chipped away. The mage could definitely feel his magic being blocked as he moved closer to the wall, and the rest of the party could see that the flame dimmed. Refreshed by the Phoenix Essence, Hunkan gets up and notices the wolves lying on the floor. "So we won then. That's good to see." He remembers how the wolves were chained to a wall before they attacked. He examines the wall and chains, and looks for any other man-made features nearby. I should have gone with you guys. I couldn't find anything new. But I did get to see how much of an megablocks the baron is in person, other than that my detour was useless. Kid curses himself under his breath for being such an impulsive idiot. Thankfully I got back in time to get those wolves to talk.

"So, if my hunch is correct, these wolves were put here to prevent anyone from getting too close to this matter. Maybe poor Maggie found out about it, and a wolf was sent to get rid of her? It doesn't affect him the way it affects Ezeran, but it glows slightly in the dim light provided by the mage's flame. "It makes me feel... Well strange!" Ezeran takes the Scroll of Blindness "That is an excellent idea! Thank you!" Ezeran picks up one of the shovels and tries to dig for clues in the cave. Digging into the rocky earth yields the same results: patches of the green mineral are revealed and Ezeran feels its weakening effect. His flame began to die out. He would need to expend more ether to keep it lit. Old Shovel - Tool. Has a 1/6 chance to break with each use. Goliath takes one of the Pickaxes. He also picks apart the carcasses of the Direwolves, using the blood as tribal markings and adding bones, including the skulls, to his hull. Rusty Pickaxe - Tool. Has a 1/3 chance to break after each use. With the direwolves defeated and the discovery of the strange mineral, it would appear that the heroes' venture into the drill site was complete. What would the party do next?
