The log of Professor Miles Woodward. 30th May 616:

Aiden will not be able to join the expedition to the interior of Serentia as he has too many other matters to attend to. His brother, Simon was not interested to go, but instead has sailed back to Belson hoping to gather financial backing for his own expedition there. It has been decided that Jack Bain, the new mayor of Stormhaven, should remain in Stormhaven with all the Oleon activity on the island to the south. Still, I am itching to start out, so Aiden is sending Nathaniel Traymor, commander of Stormhaven militia with four of his men to accompany me. The rest of the militia will remain with Jack Bain. Tutut and Kaan have agreed to travel with the expedition also. They will be of great help as they are more familiar with these islands than we are. We are all packed now and will begin rowing up Marion river with two boats come first light.

That tree is incredible! Beautiful work, well done!

Edit: the more I look at the photos the more detail I see. The plates instead of tiles where the oars have been dipped in the water.... really nice build!

Excellent tree !

Now I want to make one like this ! Nice use of those big ball joints !

Nice swamp and jungle feeling here. That's a very good job !

Excellent build, Mike! Tree, foliage, minifigs - all top notch Mi-KwalityTMdefault_laugh_new.gifdefault_wubnew.gifthumbup.gif

Waiting to see the next chapters.

Oh, and don't worry for Oleon's activities further south, this is all anti-pirates only, of course! Will increase the safety on Serentia, also default_blink.gif

Keep it up!

Beautiful tree, great landscaping and water, and very realistic looking poses on those boats. This really is a great example of what can be achieved with very little text, few bricks, and a lot of talent.

Can't wait to see what they find up that river! pirate_blush.gif

Wesole tree, great scene!

Thanks! Although I'm puzzled as to what a "wesole" tree is...pirate_wink.gif

Thank you! I thought this build through a little more than usual.

Thanks! I picked up a quite a few of the Gorilla Legend Beast set on sale and they come with quite a few.

Excellent scene! You gave me lots of ideas with that! Job well done sir

Thank you!

That tree is fantastic, has a very natural feel with the overhanging trunk! Great dash of color in the undergrowth as well.

Thanks! Yeah, I realized that I tend to focus more on shape than color so tried to compensate on this build.

Great scene, even better tree! Wow! Great attention to detail. Using plates where the oars hit the water instead of tiles is a great effect. Did I say "great" enough? pir_laugh2.gif

Haha thanks!

Good scene!

Thank you!

Excellent scene, Mike, that tree is fantastic, and great work with the composition of the rest of the build as well! And very nice job hiding that native in the first and last pics! pir_laugh2.gif

Thanks! Just to give you a heads up, that is not technically a native but a character for my story plans that I hope will add a possible humorous ending to the story of Father Tholeau and the fountain of youth.

Thanks for the comments! I have only to find the time to build now as I hope to incorporate Challange III into this story line as well.

Thanks! Well I'm kind of fearful of the results of my next MOC....pirate_look.gifpirate_laugh_new.gif

This is a very clean build as we have come to expect from you. The presentation and photos are great. I like that the native in the tree is mostly hidden from view in several of the pictures while shown in the others. This truly causes the build to take on a living aspect with the tale that is being told. That tree is pretty amazing. It definitely reminds me of trees I have seen along the side of rivers and swamps. Great job on this exploration beginning.
